Nice hole in the wall breakfast joint. Only down side is limited seating. However, I enjoy places like that. Just be prepared to wait if busy. Food was amazing. Been meaning to stop by to have breakfast for months. Today was the day. I am now questioning why it took me so long. The service was incredible even though they were packed. The food was OMG fabulous. My Avocado Toast was on toasted sourdough with 4 inches of delectable seasoned avocado and thinly sliced tomatoes to top it off. I ordered the bacon, some of the best bacon I've ever had. The egg cooked perfectly over medium not to run into the toast. My wife raved about her fish as well. Heard great things, wanted to try. Our server was friendly and efficient, place was pretty busy and a bit noisy. A mushroom burger and fries were great, stuffed French toast was just ok-filling was only a bit in one piece, nothing I would order again. Noticed someone frosting a huge tray of rolls on the counter by the front door, where customers stand to be seated, this was unappealing. Our server used very dirty looking rags as hot pads and threw one onto the counter by us and a stack of clean napkins. I realize this is a homey style place and all restaurants do things like this but NOT in the dining area The food was not enough to make me come back, with the other sanitary issues. read more

I'm torn on this review. I know they are new and should give Grace but how much Grace do we give? Wait time to get a table was pretty quick, maybe 15 minutes, when we sat down we were greeted with menus and placed drink orders right away. 10 minutes later no drinks and no one had come back to take our order, even though the waitress who took our drinks orders (& was trying not to make eye contact with us) walked by us several times. A different waitress came by and took our breakfast order, we asked if we could also order our drinks again, and she said sorry and then brought them out. About 15 minutes later a 3rd gal came over and asked if we had placed our order, and we said yes. 45+ minutes later our pancakes arrived. She asked if we needed anything else and I said we added on the combo with potatoes & egg, and she said oh yes let me grab them, came back with just the potatoes, and said the eggs weren't written down and asked how we wanted them. (We ordered the $3 add on side as it reads on the menu "make it a combo add an egg and either potatoes, bacon, Or sausage Patty for $3) We finished our meal and the eggs never came and no one stopped by to refill drinks the whole time or check on our food. Also had no napkins the entire meal. We walked up to the counter to pay and told them we never got the eggs and she said "then we definitely won't charge you for the eggs", she asked if he had any drinks, I said yes 1 OJ, they obviously weren't written down on our check, we didn't get to see the bill before she asked for our card, and then realized we were still charged for the eggs. Unless I'm reading into the menu too much, I do believe the $3 includes eggs, AND THEN you choose between potatoes, or a meat option. So we were still charged for food we didn't get. The food was fine but nothing great or something we can't get at a different restaurant. There's 12, 4-top tables and 6 barstools, they were FULL the entire time. Went in for breakfast today at 10, they were busy but a gentleman sat us right away. The servers were quick and efficient during our entire visit. The blueberry lemon curd pancakes covered my entire plate and were delicious!! My side of bacon was extremely well done, so it's a good thing I like it crispy. When walked in, no greeting by the lady, the owner?, who was making or cleaning up from making pastries. Looked at her, smiled, complimented the pastries and she turned away acting too busy. Should have been first red flag but I dismissed as possible she was busy. A restaurant reviewer in town raved about this place from hash to biscuits. Got those two things and the hash was seasoned potatoes-good but not as advertised with peppers and onions. The biscuit looked amazing but was dry and chewy. Butter helped it a bit but not enough to finish it. During course of breakfast, spoke to my husband, since we were on a date, about life. Come to find out that owner(?) must've been listening because not only did she make it a point to rub in my face my personal complaint made to my husband about a kid with random screams out of the blue here + there. Owner told the patron that people were complaining about her child. Nobody complained to the owner. Nobody spoke to her but for staff the entire time I was there so the complaint was my personally made one (maybe even other customers' private convo?). But I presume it was only mine because the owner awkwardly stopped the patron with the kid right in front of my table to make a big scene that someone complained and they laughed about how the kid ought to scream more and louder next time. I understand a single outburst, (as I have kids myself) but many times is not appropriate for the other diners. I wouldn't even have mentioned it because we all have experienced bad patrons here and there and the restaurant can't control patrons' kids. But the way the owner handled it was childish and a fair warning to others that if there's a misbehaving child, she'll make sure the child screams more just for the enjoyment this owner must get in others' cringing. read more

Lemon Tree Café has the best breakfast in Omaha!! The inside may be a bit small but the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm coming over to my moms house for a good meal. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is absolutely fantastic. It's not your typical bacon eggs and hash brown. The options are elevated and makes every bite exciting. Delicious food and very friendly staff. They have only been open less than two weeks so still working out some glitches but no biggie. Had the Blueberry Lemon Curd pancakes and they were delicious. Light, fluffy and slightly crisp on the outside. Asked for more lemon sauce as it was so good. Hubby had eggs, sausage patty and fried potatoes and he said they were delicious (and he's picky). Today was our first visit and we felt right at home. My husband wolfed down the Pumpkin Pie French toast! He said it was "pretty good" which translates to amazing!! I don't think he came up for air!!
