Although I loved the style and color on my hair, it made my hair very dry. Fast forward to last weekend when I came back to Naoto after about 2 years and he was able to touch up my balayage without bleach and color it exactly how I wanted. He was very efficient and patient with the process of touching up my balayage and making it darker, per my request. He's also very good at cutting my hair to how I like, and I ended with a very clean and voluminous look that is perfect for the wintertime! What I loved most though was that he took his time with the consultation in the beginning to make sure I got the style and color I wanted for my cut and balayage. He also made recommendations and asked for my permission when he wanted to cut more then I wanted in order to get rid of all my split ends.

She gave me exactly what I wanted, quickly and easily and to make the experience even more wonderful was the impressive array of skincare, hair care, teas and tinctures that she has carefully developed and crafted with years of experience and talent. When I got there I was greeted by the receptionist (I don't remember her name but she was fabulous too, she did a great job curling my hair)! Over the weekend I received a voicemail asking if I could push my appointment to 11AM. I called this morning to follow up, but they confirmed my appointment was scheduled for 10 AM and expressed confusion about who called me to change it to 11. We confirmed that my appointment would be 10AM. I then came in 15 mins early and was coldly greeted at the desk when I checked in. I took a seat and waited for my name to be called. I waited 15 mins past my scheduled appointment, and during my this time the stylist assigned to me took a client that walked in after me. She was notified that I was waiting twice. She never once came to speak to me to let me know how much longer to wait. I got up to speak to someone at the desk to cancel, but no one was working the desk. I walked out. I tried to then call the front desk and was placed on hold for 5 minutes. Clearly, this establishment has issues with friendliness and with double booking. I shouldn't run into this much trouble for a simple haircut. I won't come back.

I was told that because my cut and color was scheduled in the incorrect order I would not be able to see my stylist for both services for my appointment 2 days later. When I expressed disappointment in this as I booked it weeks ago and timed it for an event, Mimi proceeded to tell me that 1. I assumed risk booking online and 2. I booked my appointment too late and I probably have roots that require more time anyways and 3. That I could simply get a cut with someone else but I refused (not even true)-essentially gaslighting me as if this was my fault and not theirs. When I clarified that I would get a cut with someone else and she said that was fine I said that it seems like there's no issue anymore, but then she proceeds to add that perhaps with my negative attitude I shouldn't come at all...like what? My husband who was in the room was appalled at how a MANAGER was speaking to me, let alone after the issue was resolved. The results are not worth the abuse this place shells out if you request any accomodations.

It was way too blonde and then in an effort to correct, she took it too far in the other direction then Mimi got involved to lift some lighter pieces which then became brassy. I was there more than 4 hours and kept my cool even though I was there starving with a dying phone and my poor 10 year old waiting for me through this. Mimi was trying to help which I appreciated but when blowing my hair out, started her rant with "no disrespect but..." then proceeded to twist everything on me essentially blaming me for my hair. I came with many many many pictures. She even told me I couldn't get the color I wanted because I had longer hair in the other pictures where I liked my hair in the past? What?? Her assistant came over to discuss another client she had where she rudely told the girl the client would have to wait and deal with it. Then proceeded to lecture me and try to make me feel like a complete moron. I walked up to the receptionist literally in anticipation that they would do something to offset this horrific experience. Either a discount, a product, an IM SORRY you had a bad experience?!! Instead, Mimi comes over and essentially mocks me like a moron again reiterating that I had the services I booked even though I wasted half of my day and was leaving with BRASSY roots. So I paid $260 to hate my hair. I will pay $400 for expert hair when it's EXPERT hair. they did NOT deliver whatsoever and I left literally in tears not only because of the hair but more for being treated like a piece of garbage. All of this in front of my child...and she told me that they were taking about me and laughing at me while she was waiting for me by reception. I do not know where this woman gets off talking to people like this. She is in a customer service role and has no idea the reach one person can have. My reach will be heard by many because this is unacceptable.

I stopped by yesterday (because I called 8 times and no one answered the phone) to make an appointment and I was told my package expired. I was told that they re-opened in June of 2020...during the height of a global pandemic..and I had 6 months from that time to use the package. I asked if they let customers know that. Seems they would since I was getting text messages from them all the time. She said there was a sign put up in the salon. But I wasn't going to the salon! I wasn't going anywhere! Once again ...There was a global pandemic! Obviously they don't care about their customers. It's too bad. I lost four blowouts...but word of mouth will have them losing a lot more.

I wanted 2 inches cut off but then she suggested 4 which I agreed to. The problem was not the length she cut off but the hack job she did with cutting crazy layers in my hair. I went in with hair to the middle of my back and came out with hair to my shoulders which is fine. Unfortunately, she hacked away at my hair and created awkward and very short layers all over my head. Now it is impossible for me to wear my hair in a ponytail or a twist because of these layers--some are as short as two inches. And I showed her pictures of what I wanted which just had a face frame layer. Now that my hair is shorter it is frizzy and curly which only makes it even shorter. I actually want to cry when I look in the mirror now. And the kicker to all of this, when I go to pay, this awful haircut (no color) cost me $80!!! For a No frills salon next to a deli in Ho-Ho-Kus. Very disappointing and it will take months to grow out the damage.
