Pink/wine red at the top, orange down the lock, with yellow in the middle *after* she "fixed" it. $265 (not incl $60 tip).

Can 0 stars be an option? After having "virgin" hair for decades, I decided to go big and get a balayage - the 1st time I've ever had any kind of bleaching on my dark hair, and only the 3rd time in my life I've ever dyed it (the last time w/ a demi-glaze was elsewhere like 5 years ago). I brought photos of exactly what I wanted to my consult last week: chestnut brown balayage highlights in my dark brown hair. The red flags were immediate: she was distracted by her 4 year old the whole consult. The confirmation they said I'd get before yesterday's appt never came, so I called at opening to confirm the time. Red flag. (When I'd called for the consult, I had to leave a message & they never responded, so I had to call again to catch someone live even then). Day of the coloring: I called several times and by the time I got someone - 2 hrs later, I learned my color appointment was in 5 minutes ... but I was 20 minutes away, so they offered an appointment for 2:30 pm that same day. Red flag. Great colorists are usually booked. She was running 45 mins late... unfortunately, since it was my first time getting anything like this, I had no idea you should NEVER get your hair dyed when it's going to be dark out, especially when it's rainy outside and the salon lighting is dim (big Red Flag). I was clear: I wanted my gray streak & a few locks "painted" with the balayage of rich chestnut colors over my dark brown natural color. She said she understood... she was just going to "warm up" my hair color. After she finished, I asked her to blow out my hair so I could better see the color (since my hair is curly). Thank God I did - it was so BRIGHT ORANGE and YELLOW! She saw look on my face and got quiet. Red Flag. I kept cool, especially considering what fresh hell I was looking at. It was clear she was hoping I'd just be ok because she wanted to go home, but when I just sat there stunned saying it was much brighter than we had discussed, she said she recommended she put glaze on it for 10-15 more minutes to soften the "contrast". She doused my whole head with brown glaze and I sat there with my eyes closed praying I wasn't seeing what I was seeing and trying not to cry. It was dark out by then, and they were closing up the salon. As I sat there head in goo, I realized she was gone! Red Flag. 30 mins later, she walks into the salon w/ her kid, who's distracting her, along w/the owner asking her to fix his music app. Red flags! She finally rinses the color off (too) quickly and blows it out.. in the dim lights of the closed salon, the streaks look like 90's manic panic red & orange. The owner says my hair looks great (?!?!) and leaves. Red Flag. It reeked of chemicals and I assumed it was normal. Red flag. She actually said what it looks like in the mirror isn't what she sees (?!) and it would look a lot different when I got home. Red Flag. She also said that it was meant to look good when I wore it curly... but of course, such a bad dye job would look better if it wasn't so easy to the mistakes. Red Flag. She said she would fix it again if I got home and didn't like it. Red Flag. I knew she was tired and had a young kid to get home with a long ride, and it must be a struggle juggling a job and small child, so on top of the $255 for this horror show hair, I also gave a $60 tip! If only I could've seen what I really looked like first! OMG in daylight!! Wide patches of orange, a straw like fried yellow lock, w/ random blotches of wine red dye. I should've screamed at her on the spot and refused to pay a single dime! My beautiful natural brown color locks were toned down to dingy grayish/black & the gray hairs I came in to cover up are still visible in the back and under my hair at the neckline (which I don't think got any color at all). I went back today to show the person at the desk the photos I'd brought and the fried yellow, orange, and red bits and the strands of gray on my head that weren't dyed and she blamed it on my hair having been dyed before...when I corrected her she said "you had virgin hair?" in disbelief & Jess was busy. Red Flag. I'm a 48 year old lawyer - how could she interpret ANYTHING I showed her to mean that orange, yellow, black, & red patches is an even REMOTELY appropriate look for me? In the meantime, my hair smelled so bad it gave me a headache and when my scalp started to burn, I freaked out and went to rinse it out. The water from my hair burned my eyes!!! She was in such a rush, she didn't even wash it all out & the s*** HAD BEEN SITTING ON MY HAIR AND SCALP for 24 hours furthering the horror show she inflicted on it! They offered to have me come in and put some toner on it tomorrow, but after she blew her 2nd chance last night and let me leave looking horrid, like HELL I'll give them a chance to burn all my hair off. On top of the $320 I wasted at Chateau to be made a literal and metaphorical clown, I now have to pay a fortune for a NYC salon to fix their mess. SO. MANY. REGRETS.

    Maggie with BANGS!

My daughter got the cutest cut the other day. She decided to get bangs so Vic reviewed some pictures with her then cut her hair. She was so freaked out, but I know she was in good hands. Kathy lured me over to the manicure station while I waiting and gave me such a good manicure! I love how professional, yet relaxed this place is.

I also paid at the appointment so two charges for the same day for one blowout processed on my credit card. I called 4 days later once I noticed and was told a manager wasn't onsite but they'd leave my name and number for the following day. That was 5 days ago and I haven't heard back or recieved a refund. I called again and was told the same thing about a manager not being a site and taking my name and number. Disputed the charge with my bank which is now an unnecessary long process because this place couldn't take 5 minutes to make it right.

MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE:: BUYER BEWARE…read more Would give a 0 if I were able to! I had the most awful experience at blo blow dry bar in Franklin lakes. I Went there for a dry hair style (curls) for an occasion where we were taking pictures. I have A LOT A LOT of hair. Like every hair stylist/ hair cutter has commented on how much hair and volume I have. Not more than 45 min after my appointment I left looking greasy (it's very hard for that to even happen to me, but I guess the products they use look greasy) And my curls were gone, my hair looked stringy and flat. Not sure what tools they use but they aren't professional I couldn't even believe how flat and gross it looked (it looked dirty). I was there for an hour and a half, and mind you I went in with dry hair not wet. I had to completely start over to fix it. I called them back 3 days ago. The manager there, Karina felt that I wasn't worth her time to get back to me. She left me an initial voicemail and told me she was free to talk to me all day Friday and every time I called the front desk girls would say oh she'll call you at this time and then she never would. I also asked for them to get her so that we could speak for 1-2 minutes. She refused because she was "too busy." I finally got a call back from a manager at another location From Eileen. I asked them for a refund since what they did to my hair was atrocious. They keep giving me the run around and even asked me to come back another time ( NO THANK YOU! ). Has anyone else had an experience like this there? I just can't believe how disrespectful they are there and also how awful my hair looked. Spread the word so this doesn't happen to you. I even went to look at reviews and I'm not the only one this had happened to. Looked like 10 other women had just around the same experience as mine. With how expensive things are these days I feel that it's unacceptable. Also kindness go ways further than rudeness. Eileen called me back with a very fake nice persona telling me that I won't be getting a refund and that I can come in and they will do my hair again. HA! no thanks! I don't think I will be ever wasting my time at that place ever again. Spare yourself! Go somewhere else!

She even came in early so that I would be able to get to work on time! She also gave me a trim and was very considerate of the fact that I wanted to keep the length long. Looooove Haru!!! I started coming here after a not so good experience at a different "high-end"…read moresalon in Ho-Ho-Kus. I asked for subtle balayage there, got bright blonde highlights, and was not offered or given a refund. The owner at the other salon fixed it, but the result lasted for about 2-3 weeks... and I was left with bright blonde highlights again. A few friend recommended Haru to me. I was given an appointment with Hadley. Immediately, I LOVED her! Hadley is friendly, warm, and completely understanding about hair. As someone who is self-admittedly fussy, Hadley listened to me and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. Since then, I've been to Hadley MANY times and she's brought me from balayage to my natural brunette, cuts from shoulder length to halfway down my back, and dealt with my particularness about my bangs. Hadley is super talented and has a wonderful, bubbly personality. I love talking to everyone at the front desk as well, and really enjoy my time there! Additionally, I brought my boyfriend to Haru for a men's cut. He was styled by Sylvie, and she was also WONDERFUL! Best haircut he's ever had :) Next up I want to try the facials!

I was told that because my cut and color was scheduled in the incorrect order I would not be able to see my stylist for both services for my appointment 2 days later. When I expressed disappointment in this as I booked it weeks ago and timed it for an event, Mimi proceeded to tell me that 1. I assumed risk booking online and 2. I booked my appointment too late and I probably have roots that require more time anyways and 3. That I could simply get a cut with someone else but I refused (not even true)-essentially gaslighting me as if this was my fault and not theirs. When I clarified that I would get a cut with someone else and she said that was fine I said that it seems like there's no issue anymore, but then she proceeds to add that perhaps with my negative attitude I shouldn't come at all...like what? My husband who was in the room was appalled at how a MANAGER was speaking to me, let alone after the issue was resolved. The results are not worth the abuse this place shells out if you request any accomodations.
