I have been a repeat customer over the past years. However, this year I have found Colleen in Finance Dept to be the rudest person I have come across. She is egotistical and arrogant. I will take my business to another dealership - outside leith family. It should not matter how long she has worked there - there is no excuse for her rude, condescending and arrogant behavior. Horrific and unexpected experience. Will never go back. Do not trust what she says - way over priced extended warranty and either does not know or tell you the entire truth. There are far better experiences with other dealerships that I prefer to give my money to for overpriced vehicles. I've been to several other BMW deal in Germany, DC area and NJ and never have had such poor services as the services I've received at Leith BMW. I've left with sloppy workmanship. I've gone to pick up my car and the service rep remained on the phone while handing me my paper work for my 1500$ and not taking the time to discuss issues with me. I'm sitting here at Leith BMW while I write this review. I'm amazed at how badly someone in the service industry can treat their customers. I have a friendly advice for Leith BMW. Please send Heather Drake to a customer service class that can teach her to be more respectful to her customers and also to be more mindful of the customers' concerns and listen to them. Moreover, she needs to learn about cars too. Leith BMW, you guys are servicing BMWs that people who own value a lot but people will walk away from you because of poor customer service. My experience was terrible. I am a single female that wanted to trade my BMW in for a new one. I did my research and was very prepared but not prepared for the poor treatment I experienced. I spoke to the Sales Rep prior to coming in and I thought he was prepared for what I needed. But, he only showed me three cars and then proceeded to "Build My Car" on-line which I could've done. There was no negotiating and when I tried to do so, he showed me his computer screen with a list of cars that he recently sold. I said, "Ok I guess I will go to another dealer with more inventory" and he stood up shook my hand and said, "good-bye". I really, really wanted a BMW but went with my second choice - a Lexus ES at Johnson Lexus. My rep at Johnson Lexus would not let me walk out until I saw every car that fit my needs. They even took me to the back of the lot with cars that were not on the main lot yet. I got a great deal on my trade in and got a great deal that was close to invoice on my new Lexus. I was truly treated like a Queen. Warning single ladies - unfortunately you may want to take a male friend in with you if you do decide to work with Leith. read more

Was shopping for cars in Raleigh and hadn't made a decision. Had always been a BMW driver, but had taken a break after having kids and moved to a minivan. So was ready to get back into something smaller. We had looked at lease deals online and had found many deals, but as you mostly realize after going to dealerships, those advertisements are lacking in "integrity". The last place we stopped was Leith and it was a great experience. We walked in and Charles Thompson helped us. As soon as we met him, we were very clear in what we wanted. We wanted a lease with a fairly low payment and definitely a low signing cost. We showed him the online lease advertisement and he did exactly what we asked of him. He stuck with the numbers brought us what we were looking for. Unfortunately I didn't like the interior color, so again, he went back in and found me another vehicle, meeting our requirements and now in a color I loved. I cannot say how great Charles was. He was kind, polite, extremely intelligent and a true pleasure to work with. It was a very easy experience and would definitely work with Charles again. Thank you Charlie!!!!! This BMW dealership has the worst customer service. I placed an online order with them for a Black Friday special that they advertised. After placing the order I even received an email confirmation from them confirming my order. I never received the item. I even called back a couple times and left a voicemail, and never got a call back. A month later I was finally able to speak to a rude salesperson who said that they had an error on the website and are not honoring the deal that I had placed. They canceled the order and refused to honor the original price. The worst part is that they were RUDE and dismissive about the situation. I would never buy anything- especially a car- from such an unprofessional dealership. read more

This review is about the service department. We took our suv for routine maintenance (oil change, brake fluid change), but also told them that our windshield washer was not working. The fluid barely came out of the nozzle so it wasn't getting on the windshield. I told him that I recently added washer fluid to the tank, so the service advisor asked me what kind I used. I bought it at auto zone, and it was regular washer fluid. He then tried to tell me that any problem with the windshield washer system would no longer be covered under warranty because I didn't use BMW washer fluid. He claims that other brands of washer fluid are prone to having algae growth, which clogs the machinery. How absurd! I even checked the car manual and there is nothing that says it is required to only use BMW washer fluid. Our service advisor then later claims he tested the system and everything was working fine. Of course, we get on the road and the washer isn't working. We later took the car to Performance BMW who discovered that the washer pump was broken and replaced it. Why was it so hard for Leith BMW to diagnose the problem and fix it like they are supposed to do? Instead I get threats about how the work might not be covered by the warranty, and to top it all off, an attitude from the service advisor that was like he was doing us a favor all along. We will never return there for service again. read more

Absolutely awful service!!! I dropped my car off on Sunday evening. By Thursday (4 days later), I still had NO loaner car (none available per my service advisor) and my car had not even been touched!!! Heather, my nonchalant service advisor, seemed to not be the least bit concerned about the inconvenience that their lack of timeliness was causing me. I had my vehicle towed from Leith BMW to Performance BMW in Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill is not convenient to me at all but I'll take the inconvenience 10 times over before I pay any repair costs to a shop that treated me like they didn't care. When I informed Heather that I would be writing a review about my customer experience, her response was a simple "ok" before hanging up the phone on me! Not once did I receive an apology, some empathy nor a conversation to provide a solution. I truly believe that they treat their customers this way because there's not another BMW service shop in the area. Go to Chapel Hill instead......you'll thank me later!!! P.S. Performance BMW is coming to Durham soon!!! There're getting closer! If they open one in Wake County Leith would be out of business!!!! read more

I normally don't leave reviews. But this dealership has been an absolute pain to deal with. I am only writing this so that other people will hopefully avoid the problems that I had to deal with. My wife has a 2016 BMW X1. Let's begin with the first issue I had, a weird rotten smell coming from the a/c and the brake light on. They had the car for a few days and found that the front brakes and rotors had to be replaced (at only 20k miles). And they couldn't locate the smell from the a/c, so I had them replace the cabin filter (which for some reason couldn't be done under the regular maintenance at the time) which came out of my pocket. And to top it all off, I had Sean as my service advisor. Which meant that I never got updates without talking it upon myself to call for. And also got a nice little attitude with every call. Then, we suffered through a few more weeks of rotten a/c smell before I had to take it in again. We got Sean as our service advisor again. They kept the car for an entire week, had multiple technicians and a BMW engineer come out to look at. Decided they couldn't find anything wrong so they did an ozone treatment for good measure. When we came to pick the car up it had an odd chemical smell. Which seemed better than the rotten smell. And also a nice big dent in the rear tailgate/bumper. Which nobody decided to mention. After a few weeks of going back and forth that finally got fixed. And the rotten a/c smell came back. We decided to hold off on taking it back to them until the next service since we didn't need to turn on the a/c in the colder months. And that brings us to now, its summer again. So the a/c is a necessity. We brought the car in for routine maintenance, rotten a/c smell, and a check engine light that appeared days before our appointment. The maintenance went smoothly and it was the only thing that went well. Our service advisor was Heather this time, so we did get updates as needed which was a pleasant surprise. The a/c smell that they all smelled, was poked at by changing the filter, using a deodorizer, and doing another ozone treatment. It didn't fix it, but what's new. The check engine light was showing codes for a tank vent issue. They ordered a part and replaced it. The next day it was back on. They got us back in to replace another part. We got the car back a day later. But now the car shuts off intermittently with no check engine light on. So I'll be waiting another few weeks until I muster up the patience to deal with them again. Too bad there isn't another BMW dealership anywhere close. read more

This dealership is horrible. They flat out lied about CPO warranty coverage to us when we bought a car from Leith. They were rude and just plain dishonest when it came time for the first service. The reviews on this dealership are actually comical, the good ones are clearly bought or coerced. This dealership is horrible I made an appointment and took my 535 XI in, a simple oil change and vehicle check (where they tried to charge me an extra 60 dollars to say reset the computers that the service was completed) which normally would take an hour at most (when you have an appointment ) took over 3. And when I asked at hour 2 I was told i came in the middle of the day so they had other stuff they were working on. Then WHY did I make an appointment?! Over 250 dollars and over 3 hours of my time wasted. Not to mention no updates were offered at any point during my 3 hour wait. read more

Beware of theft! I took my BMW in for service last week and a small amount of money was taken out of the rear center console. The compartment was closed, out of the way, and there was definitely no reason for anyone to open it. When I complained about the theft, the customer service manager was arrogant and ridiculous. At first he refused to come outside to my vehicle and speak with me and when I approached him in his office he said to another staff member "is this the guy that is complaining." After I explained to him that I was very unhappy with what had happened, he basically suggested that my business with the dealership was not of value because I was not driving a Rolls Royce. He then went on to tell me that they did not have a theft problem and that maybe I was confused about what was missing. At that point I left the dealership and I will definitely take my business somewhere else in the future! A small side note...during my service appointment I was quoted $1,600 to replace one xenon headlight. At $3,200 for a set, that is more than 4 times the original cost of the headlights. read more

Leith offered a 50% off all BMW accessories 2014 Black Friday sale. Literally hundreds of BMW owners took advantage of this sale (search any large BMW forum). Only later to find that their orders were cancelled because Leith reneged on their coupon code and canceled orders, including mine. This brings "bait and switch" to an all new cyber level. They canceled my order and then offered to sell the items on my order to me at a "discount" (WAYYYY below 50% off). Guess this is how they run things at Leith. I sure won't be giving them any more business in the future. And you shouldn't either. read more

My rating is for the service center rather than for the dealership. I recently took my 2011 BMW 328i in for a basic tire alignment. Immediately after service, I noticed a noise in my front tires and called them immediately after the holiday about the issue. I'm no mechanic so I have no clue what is causing the noise. However, as a customer that just used the service center I would expect any dealership to look at at the issue for free and prove it is not their fault. Instead, I was told it wasn't their fault and it would be $55 for them to just look at the issue. Are you kidding? I will be taking my car to a local shop who said "they'd be happy to take a look and earn my business." Something Leith BMW clearly is not interested in. Do not go here if you care about customer service. read more

I had a great experience at Leith BMW in Raleigh last week. Unfortunately, my 3 series overheated so it was not drivable and had to be towed in. I called in and explained what happened and although they didn't have any available appointments the next day they said they would work me in between appointments. Heather Drake was very friendly, patient and informative to work with. She got everything taken care of quickly and completely for me and when I came to pick up my car I was in and out within 5 minutes. I own several cars and have used Leith Service dept. at Mercedes of Raleigh and Audi of Raleigh and Leith Porsche and Bmw of Durham, Porsche of Durham and have been very satisfied with their service but not Leith BMW of Raleigh. They may be the worse organized dealership around. Please think twice before using them. My last trip they forgot I brought my car in and never service it. We went to Leith 3 time before, the sales person we had was rude and very much a woman hater. we were told they won't work a minute past their closing time. It was the worse car buying experience I've ever had. After been called names, humiliated, we went to performance. We went there at about 2pm on Saturday, drove 2 brand new BMWs home at about 8:30 ( dealer close at 5pm ), the entire team stayed behind to finish the sale. For the Raleigh residents with BMWs and want dealership services for their BMWs, you are better off taking your vehicle to Performance BMW in Chapel Hill. I have taken my BMW to Leith a few times and will never take it there again. I had issues with my car speakers. They fixed the speakers but then messed up the Bluetooth speaker so I can no longer connect my iphone to the car Bluetooth. I spoke to Mark, one of the service reps about it, and he gave this poor excuse that sometimes when you fix one thing, something else breaks. Well it was not broken when I took it to you, it should not be broken when I get my car back. I told Mark to have the Manager call me but of course I never received a call or any follow up from any Manager or person from Leith. Also, when your BMW's service lights come on and you take it there to fix or service it, they charge you $50 to turn the service lights off. WHAT! Isn't that part of servicing the vehicle! Also, they quoted me approximately $1200 to fix my door as a part was no longer working within the door. I called Performance BMW in Chapel Hill and the total work is around $800...that's a $400 savings. Also, when I called Leith to get the part number for the door part, the service guy at Leith would not give the part number to me. I called Performance BMW and explained to him the part I needed, and the part guy gave me the number immediately without any hesitation. I am absolutely done with Leith...they are the absolute worst! read more

Dealt with Advisor named Cameron and Tech named Aaron. I am an Advisor myself and know the hardships of this job for both tech and Advisor. I came in with a noise concern, which is usually very time consuming and hard to process quickly. With that being said, I am absolutely blown away by my experience. Cameron did an awesome job with getting everything going, arranging parts and transportation once diagnosed, and kept me updated via my preferred form of communication. Aaron, the tech, was extremely professional and thorough. He took me for a test drive, explained what he had found thus far, and what his next steps were in figuring things out. The. It's on my invoice were very detailed. His diagnosis was spot on, parts were in the next day. In 24 hrs I had my vehicle diagnosed, and repaired properly. He even went out to other vehicle of similar chassis and package to confirm my concern. He invested more time than warranty repairs will ever pay him for, but he delivered my car back to me in perfect working order. This type of dedication is rare in our industry, and I truly hope someone of importance reads this review. You have two awesome employees. Thank you Leith. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. These people are the biggest scams and crooks I've ever met. My BMW's service engine soon light came on a few months ago so I took my car to my regular independent mechanic to figure out what the cause was. He told me it was an issue relating to my car's computer and that it needed reprogramming, but he doesn't possess the software to do so. So I take my car to Leith BMW and ask them to simply reprogram my computer so I can get the service engine soon light off and get my car inspected. I get there and they tell me that they CAN'T do it (lied straight to my face). They told me that they need to "diagnose" the car, so I said sure, whatever it takes to get the light off. $120 and an hour later they tell me they haven't found the problem yet and need more time (lied straight to my face AGAIN). So I set up another appointment to have them "diagnose" it further. $360 and three hours later they come back to give me the verdict. They told me my car needs a NEW computer and quoted me at $2000, yes you read that right, TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS. As someone who's scraping by, my heart instantly sank. I said thanks and left the dealership at that. I went back to my mechanic's shop to let him know the news and he told me we could get a used computer from a junkyard for $165. My hope instantly skyrocketed. He ordered the part and a few days later installed it, but Leith BMW "couldn't" (more like wouldn't) program the used computer for me to get the light off. So now I'm in the exact same boat as before, just with $645 less to my name. My mechanic reinstalled the ORIGINAL (the one Leith BMW said was defective) computer and we took the car to an independent European car shop. Within five minutes they had the service engine soon light off. I was so heated about this I gave Leith BMW a call to see what they had to say for themselves concerning this. I told one person what happened, they couldn't give me an answer. They transfer me to someone else. I tell that person what happened, they transfer me to someone else. I tell that person what happened and they give me a number where I can leave a voicemail. If you're even remotely considering taking your car, please don't, they are liars and scams here and don't deserve anyone's business. read more

I can't believe I enjoyed my car-buying experience. I've only ever purchased from private/individual sellers before, which has always been fairly hassle free. Everyone warned me about "car dealerships" - and warned me to beware! Clearly those same people had not been to Leith BMW. I chose Leith BMW specifically because my mother had such a positive experience there a few years ago. I was with her and remembered how she was treated, and how happy she was. So, when it was finally time for my first BMW, I went back, and specifically requested David Mallette. It was the right choice. David was so easy to work with. He found the car I wanted (and more) and made the whole process fun, and most importantly, easy. If only the rest of life were like purchasing a BMW... we should all be so blessed. We're almost a full BMW family now, and will go back to David when it's time for my husband's first BMW. We cannot wait, and are looking forward to the experience again! read more
