My one complaint is that it takes them a while to process your donations and you only have 24 hours to accept the offer they give you. If you came from Maryland like we did, this isn't helpful. I wish there were extra staff members to process your donations while you shopped so you could accept before leaving. Overall, a cool store. Just be aware you will most likely not get your deal the same day.

She and her parents are visiting the D.C. area from out of state, and visiting a toy store was at the top of her list. (We made plans yesterday to spend the afternoon in Old Town partially so we could take her to this toy store.) We weren't greeted when we entered the store, and one of the two employees made no effort to conceal the fact that she was following us around while we browsed various sections of the store, rummaging around pointlessly with items in the exact places where we were looking, but never asking if we needed help at any point during this charade. When I finally couldn't help but ask the employee what was going on, and why she had followed us around so closely but hadn't taken the the trouble to ask if we needed any assistance, the store's owner (or perhaps manager), who might have instructed the employee to closely follow customers she believed might be planning to shoplift, simply frowned at us from behind the counter, and made no effort to apologize. (My brother, I, and my niece were dressed in outfits that I thought looked absolutely perfect for a day shopping in Old Town [I've lived in Alexandria for the past fifteen years], but maybe I was wrong.) There's a toy store and children's clothing boutique approximately one and a half blocks east of Pippin Toys called the Pink & Brown Boutique, where we made several purchases, stopping on the way from Misha's Coffee to our destination of Pippin Toys and being pleasantly surprised by its existence. Both the toy and clothing selections at the Pink & Brown Boutique are impeccably curated, and the store's owner is incredibly friendly and doesn't treat her customers (which every small store needs these days, I'd imagine) like potential shoplifters. She'll continue to receive my family's business in the future, and I won't be visiting Pippin Toys again.

I really appreciated the family friendly area too. for the card section, they have both training cards and collectible card games. They carry things like Pokémon, Magic the Gathering , Lorcana, and Star Wars unlimited. But they have much more than just that. SERVICE: service was great! Overall, they are very helpful and it is well staffed. It was a little disorganized near the register, but can't really complain because of the great selection and the friendly attitude. COST: the value for what you get is right on the Mark. It is a place with reasonable prices and they stick relatively close to MSRP. The exceptions being what you would find at any other card shop. Sad part, I'm a sealed Etb collector. When I finally got home to store my new Etb. I inspect the box. Come to find out, there is a small tear, of the factory seal, on the bottom side corner.. I immediately fell upset because 1. I didn't inspect it prior to buying it (part my fault) and secondly, staff didn't inspect the product prior to bagging either. 3. Trying to catch a restock, in today's climate is extremely rough when you have a day job and or lack reliable inside scoop to vendors restock schedules etc. Makes finding any ETBs scarce at close to MSRP ($49.99). So giving this rating was hard because overall I appreciate this LCS (local card shop) for giving their customers a chance to own new release products for TRUE MSRP prices over Target etc.

I'm giving 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 purely because the price on their sealed Pokemon product isn't in a happy place between MSRP and Market.
