We are locals but it was awesome to "get away" and have a staycation. Beautiful location and just steps away from the quaint little town of Fort Langley. My husband was able to go to work still and I would stroll the town with my little boys! The playground and pool are a fun addition as well! We didn't get a chance to go this year and missed it so much!! Definitely recommend this location to anyone wanting a beautiful RV site!

However, there's too much traffic for my liking, and the trains are a bit much as they're only a stones throw away and sound their horns every time all night long. People are constantly driving in and out of the park up to and slightly past the cut off. If you're parked near the road it gets old in a hurry. The general store in the park is fairly priced & handy. The wifi is very limited at your site but is unlimited at the store. It costs $25 extra per week to park a second vehicle here or $10 a night. A little bit much imo. There were loud gun like bangs during the first day I was here and police coming through the first night I was here. As I write this at 21:44 there have been four vehicles through here in the last 15 minutes. Three of which were diesel, and one shining their lights directly into my camp. If you're going to stay here, try and get a spot to the rear of the grounds. It cost me roughly $300 to stay here for a week.

Update: went 2 years later and did the extreme course with my 12 and 14 year old kids after the…read moreclassic course. It was really fun, and it's quite the workout if you're not usually climbing. Friendly staff who are helpful and great and explaining things. We had booked, paid, and filled waivers ahead of time but checking in took 15 minutes, as they only had one window open. In the harnessing area, we were there on a weekday morning and we were the only ones in our own group so there was no wait. We started with the classic course. There was a staff who stayed with us for most of the first half, and he said we finished the first part fast and caught up to a slow family. So he suggested we do the next course and then come back, which we did. He left us after awhile so when we went to the extreme course, no one was there to show us what to do and it's a different lock system so I had to go find someone. The extreme course is pretty challenging in my opinion, and this was our 3rd time at WildPlay. I'm a middle-aged mom who doesn't work out and managed to do it! My arms were sore after but it was fun !! There was an overweight kid who had a hard time just climbing a ladder on the classic course - so you have to be someone fit to do it but I think for the majority of active people it's doable if you have an open mind, like challenges, zip lines and climbing. Do it! YOLO!

I accompanied my son on the kid's course. It was fun and different but I have some feedback,…read moreespecially regarding safety. - not enough staff. We waited a LONG time after getting the harness to walking toward the course for a short demo. During that time waiting, someone could have walked us to the course so the kids could practice with the hook because many kids struggled on the course. - Having smaller groups would avoid the back log of people when a kid wanted to get off the course and if people are slower. It could easily get bottle necked. About 30 of us had to back track since he was one of the first people in the group who was scared on the first run. Imagine if it was half way through. - Younger kids should have a parent with them on the course as mandatory. The kid in front of my son was having troubles with the hook and the guide was rarely to be seen. She didn't stay with the group long and we could never find another guide. The child's mother had no interest in helping from below! I ended up helping this young child a few times or we would be stuck behind him for a while. A second guide came much later, but when the kid behind us got caught on the 2nd zip line, my husband had to help the kid after him to get back to the top to loosen the rope. That was a dangerous situation. More staff needed, especially on the kid's course, if it is not expected that parents join their kids. For some parts, a parent wouldn't even be able to help if they can't reach higher from on the ground. They ask your feedback in a survey and I also emailed personally, but no response. I would go back, but try going on a weekday or early morning during less busy times.

Booked there again, for chess, but was dissappointed it was locked up. Walked into town, got a call from manager Maryellen saying a tree had fallen on our RV. Got back to find a huge branch right through our awning, to the trailer door. Scary to think what could've happened if we'd been there. We didn't complain, calmly showed insurance, & she said they'd pay the deductible. Huge hassle to tow the trailer to shop for estimate, wait many weeks for parts, then tow back for repair. FC made no attempt to compensate. Next visit, were again dissappointed we were not allowed to play chess. Upon check-in this time I asked (Sue?) if they'd had the trees inspected. She acted bewildered & said "what are you talking about?" so I told her what happened. She said "So what!!? Do you expect me to go and look at every single tree myself?!" in the rudest most sarcastic tone imaginable. My immediate thought was "No. Of course not. You are clearly not qualified. You need to hire a Certified Arborist to assess the trees." But her ignorance & attitude told me I'd be wasting my time, so I left the office & tried to enjoy the stay. It's astounding that she thinks it's ok to talk to paying guests this way, let alone a person just making a reasonable inquiry. Recently gave FC one last chance, mostly for hookup for AC, it was 32 deg. Checked-in, driving to site, a tree limb fell inches in front of our truck. 1 sec earlier it would've come through our windshield. What are the odds these were the only 2 times a tree has broken on their property and we were there? Waited for staff to remove tree from road & went to our site. Hooked up, turned on AC, but breaker flipped after 1 min. Tried many times, kept going off, so went to tell Maryellen. I asked if she remembered us, the ones who had a tree limb come through the awning. She denied recall of us, what happened, or the 9 subsequent emails between us. So either it happens so much here that she can't keep track, or her memory is impaired, or she's lying. Anyway, I just let that go, & explained the breaker issue. She kept interrupting me, but said she'd call maintenance. After dinner our son was excited to play chess, but again it was awkward with the store clerk standing there staring at us. He couldn't give them 10 min to finish their game? On leaving we went to buy some propane. The guy who came out told us we had to bring the tanks to other side, not the propane pump where we parked. Asked what price/litre was, said he didn't know, & made no effort to help carry full tanks back, just stood there. I asked what we owe him, he said "Um, I don't know, um, maybe about $30?" Understandably confused, I asked, "ok where or who do we pay then?" He said go to the store, where the clerk said $84.00! For 1.5 bbq size tanks of propane! I explained one of the tanks was 1/2 full & just topped off. She wouldn't say what their price/litre is, or even how many litres pumped, just said it's flat rate. Manager overheard & told her to just charge for full one, then turned to the guy who pumped it and scolded him publicly for filling a 1/2 full tank. While dealing with this I had two missed calls from Sue, wanting to make sure we were out of our site, & asking why she didn't get gate card back yet. I called her back & explained we WERE out of our site BEFORE 11am, & were trying to buy propane from THEIR store. We've been reasonable & forgiving, never losing tempers/raising voices. Time to publish honest review, as tree problem is a very serious safety issue. Hate to think what would've happened if one of those limbs weighing several hundred pounds had fallen on one of the many kids playing there. Staff brushed it off as no big deal, but this is a tragedy & law suit waiting to happen, & their liability waiver won't protect them as there is evidence of the hazard being known, reported, & still no action has been taken. We won't be back.

We thought they'd say Grace at meals and perhaps have a few Sunday school type activities throughout the week. We attended a tour prior to the camp and the information given there was very different from what my daughter experienced. The camps primary goal seems to be to convert the kids. They had 1 hour plus each morning of 'Chapel' and each evening a few people gave a testimony about how Jesus saved them. Virtually all the songs the kids sang were religious. On one day, if the kids misbehaved during a meal, first their utensils were confiscated, then their chair, them they were made to eat on the floor. My daughter wasn't given an opportunity to bathe all week, the schedule is so tightly packed between activities and indoctrination. She told them she wanted to go home, she wasn't permitted to phone us even though she was very upset. No one called us on her behalf. Essentially she was a hostage.

The traffic can be somewhat chaotic in the summer time and it is main area for a lot of boaters heading out of the cove. We kayak around three islands within our two hour option, but didn't relax as much as we want. Again, the salt water, slight wind, and being in the 80's made it a wonderful but brief time.

Our guides were knowledgeable and got us in and out of our kayak without us getting our feet wet. I didn't give five stars for two reasons. First, the two guides seemed a bit lax, they mostly paddled with us instead of taking lead and sweep positions, despite the fact that two out of the six of us had never kayaked before. They did look back periodically to check on everyone, but it was still strange compared to other kayak tours I've been on. Second, they didn't take pictures of us, other tours I've been on do it as a matter of course and email or post pictures to everyone. Still, this was a very worthwhile experience, and everyone enjoyed the views, the seals we saw in the water, etc., and no one had trouble keeping up despite the wind and the range of both ages and kayaking experience.
