We paddled for 6 days and camped for 5 nights. The scenery and whale watching aspects of the trip were excellent. The camps were comfortable and well supported by occasional re-supply from the base back in Port NcNiell. The camp on Sophia Island was particularly well appointed with already set tents, cots and a nice kitchen and sitting area. The food prepared by our guide was excellent and hearty. I would certainly recommend this group for paddlers of all levels of experience.

We learned a lot from him and enjoyed spending some time getting to know him. Our guide, Korry, was also excellent. He was also friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well fed and had a good time. There is never a guarantee of finding specific wildlife when you are out in the wild, but Larry and Korry knew the animals behaviors and made sure to stay up to date on recent patterns and updates from all the other local teams in order to give us the best chance to see orcas, humpbacks, eagles, seals, and lots of other wildlife while out kayaking. Even if we didn't see any whales the entire time, it still would have been a great trip. However, we did see lots of orca and humpbacks during our time. They even came right by our island one evening, where we could see them from our dinner table and hear them while sleeping in our tents. I highly recommend going with Larry and Discovery Expeditions. We hope to make another trip in the future.

If you don't have a car like me, the winter shuttle bus from Parkgate community center is very convinient and cheap. We also have done ski classes at Seymour. Very affordable for 159 $ and include clothes and equipment rental for 2 hours. Great slopes for beginners. We will be back for more!

My family was travelling with my elderly mother and she loved it. We pitched our tent in a nice grassy patch under some shady trees and enjoyed the raspberry vodka iced teas around the campfire. While there are plenty of RV lots here, privacy is limited, since there's not much in the way of shrubs around the sites. However, it's a huge lake, and loads of friendly people are all over the campground. Several dozen folks have had their RV's parked up here for 10-20 years, and enjoy meeting new campers. For the squeamish, they have clean outhouses and pay per use hot showers as well as horse shoe pits. The beach is a little rocky at first, but the water is nice once you get used to it. I'm told the water levels are at a all time high this year so the dock hasn't been put out yet, but the swimming is great!

When I signed up and paid a deposit the trip was for July 17 according to their website: "Tour Name Budapest, the Baltic States, and Poland Tour Date (MM/DD/YYYY) Jul 17, 2026 Name (first/middle/last) as it appears in your passport Susan Pease Room Type Requested Single room Current Citizenship United States" After I paid the deposit I was informed that was the wrong date, the tour actually started July 23: "First of all, I see you have signed up for the July 17, 2026 departure of our Budapest, the Baltic States & Poland tour. However, when I went to look in our system at the dates for this tour, it seems our system experienced an error, and the dates and prices on our website were actually incorrect. Our sincere apologies for this error, and we hope it does not inconvenience you at all! The actual departure date in July for this tour is July 23, 2026." 2. I told Bestway I was doing a genealogy tour after this tour and I was offered help booking things: "If you would like any assistance with booking flights, pre- or post-tour nights, etc., we are happy to help out. For your Poland add on, can you kindly confirm if you would like us to assist with any additional services, and if so, which ones? We can assist with accommodations, activities, transfers, flights, etc. For example, we could assist with services along the following lines, if desired: Extra nights in Tallinn Transfer from Tallinn to Vilnius Nights and activities in Vilnius Transfer and flights to Poland Touring activities, accommodation and transfers in Poland" When I asked for help with the bookings I was told they wouldn't help me. 3. When I paid the remainder of the cost - was told a mistake was made even though I specifically told them I was paying in US dollars. The fee had to be recalculated. "You mentioned you will be paying in USD. If you look at the receipt attached here, which also should have been sent through to your email, it seems you were passed on the CAD payment link instead of the USD payment link, and a deposit of CAD$ 500 has been run through instead. Future payments can all be in USD." All of these communications were with Mahmood Poonja and Kierra Jones. 4. When I arrived in Budapest I was not informed by Bestway that the tour would be run by Kompass. A heads up would have been helpful. When I asked for a contact person I was sent, via WhatsApp, to Anja Simic. She sent me to Emese Markgraf. She sent me to Norbert - so it took me 3 people to finally get to the person that was leading the group so I could find out where and what time to meet. This is a total lack of communication. Unfortunately the itinerary didn't include museums, except for Auschwitz. The tour was basically "here's the churches & museums & interesting places - go on your own". The only excursion included was Auschwitz. The rest of the sightseeing was a driving tour (stuff to look at) and walking tour (here's a bunch of stuff you can see on your own). Bestway should have flown us from Budapest to Krakow and Warsaw to Vilnius. Instead we spent 7-8 hours in a van on 2 different days.

Dan and I are a week back from our spectacular 25 day India odyssey. The itinerary that Dan put together with your assistance was practically flawless. We had such a great time with all of the guides and drivers and Ajay and Ramesh(driver). The accommodations and food were absolutely first rate to the point where I felt we could have been part of the 19th century British aristocracy given our treatment. It was a once in a lifetime experience for both of us. I even managed to insert myself into a local boys cricket game as we were walking down one of the streets and came across the game being played in an empty lot. Dan documented the second pitch from the bowler and I launched up against a center field building. At that point I turned around looking for a signing bonus as the boys were amazed and so, so. friendly. This was our second time staying here. After three days they came to inform us that we could not…read morehave fencing for our dogs outside the trailer. We never left them out there without being there with them. We took it down after that and then tied the dogs to a line between the two doors on our trailer. Now we were told we can not do that because of bears. Again we have left our dogs out there without being out there too. I never complained about the dog who barked every morning at 6:30. Or the kid that screamed at all hours three sited down. Or the CONSTANT trims going very near to the park. Do not stay here is you want peace and quiet or want to be left alone.
