A rep from the company called and took my credit card info, charged me $500 to hold it. i never received a contact or email of any kind for this booking! The group decided against this , so a week after or June 29 I called and cancelled. The company refused to refund my $500 and 2 months later still no refund . Tried calling many times, left messages and emails but 2 months later still no refund Beware of this company as unethical practices , as he basically ripped off 72 year old nurses from Vancouver after many, many years of service to this community .

Parking is available in the non free lot, but there are also free spots up the hill. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not sure if there are other boats available, but I was on the Native. The boat itself is basically 2 dining/bar areas with a patio, with a really narrow outdoor viewing area running along the sides. There really is something therapeutic about cruising down the river. The steam boats are surprisingly quiet, and don't move too quickly. The weather cooperated the day I went which was also quite nice. It's pretty neat seeing the port in action, such as the lots completely full of imported cars, and the cranes lifting containers off ships. Definitely worth a trip at least once.

Our tour leader Richard took care of every aspect of the trip and answered our endless questions. I just came home from a long-awaited trip to Central Asia. I was very disappointed. The "Tour…read moreGuide" was a lovely young woman who had only been to these countries once. She spoke none of the languages and needed to learn how to get anything done. That being said most of the local guides were not much better. I expected an in-depth tour including the history of the Silk Road. When the guides were understandable for the most part the people in the group knew more than they did. The was one exception, our local guide in Kazakhastan and Kyrgyzistan. He was excellent. Everything I say below does not apply to our time in his 2 countries. The tour is listed with a difficulty rating of 2. It should have been listed as a 3 or 4. At .3 mile border crossing turned into a mile. Buses were always as far away from the point of entry (border crossing or airport) as they possibly could be. With a few exceptions, the food was tediously the same. Family style is served at the discretion of the restaurant, not those of us eating. The wine was frequently served as we were finishing dinner. Everything was done as fast and easy, not as the best and most desired. The advice given before the trip had many gaps and was not correct in many cases. Suffice it to say this was my first and last trip with Adventures Abroad. I should have read more reviews.

We paddled for 6 days and camped for 5 nights. The scenery and whale watching aspects of the trip were excellent. The camps were comfortable and well supported by occasional re-supply from the base back in Port NcNiell. The camp on Sophia Island was particularly well appointed with already set tents, cots and a nice kitchen and sitting area. The food prepared by our guide was excellent and hearty. I would certainly recommend this group for paddlers of all levels of experience.

We learned a lot from him and enjoyed spending some time getting to know him. Our guide, Korry, was also excellent. He was also friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well fed and had a good time. There is never a guarantee of finding specific wildlife when you are out in the wild, but Larry and Korry knew the animals behaviors and made sure to stay up to date on recent patterns and updates from all the other local teams in order to give us the best chance to see orcas, humpbacks, eagles, seals, and lots of other wildlife while out kayaking. Even if we didn't see any whales the entire time, it still would have been a great trip. However, we did see lots of orca and humpbacks during our time. They even came right by our island one evening, where we could see them from our dinner table and hear them while sleeping in our tents. I highly recommend going with Larry and Discovery Expeditions. We hope to make another trip in the future.

Dan and I are a week back from our spectacular 25 day India odyssey. I won't say experience…read morebecause the word is so incomplete given all the sights, sounds, smells, food etc that can only be "felt" by such a trip. The itinerary that Dan put together with your assistance was practically flawless. We had such a great time with all of the guides and drivers and Ajay and Ramesh(driver). The accommodations and food were absolutely first rate to the point where I felt we could have been part of the 19th century British aristocracy given our treatment. It was a once in a lifetime experience for both of us. I even managed to insert myself into a local boys cricket game as we were walking down one of the streets and came across the game being played in an empty lot. Dan documented the second pitch from the bowler and I launched up against a center field building. At that point I turned around looking for a signing bonus as the boys were amazed and so, so. friendly. I could go on and on but suffice to say that Bestway went beyond the call and I would recommend it to any of my traveler friends. Dave Setnicker Minnesota Dan Crane DC

Not too often do you deal with a company that is totally stand-up and does the right thing. Bestway…read moreis definitely a stand-up company and Chi was great to work with. I can't recommend them enough so call them if you are looking for a tour. A group of 8 people (all friends) had booked a tour of Egypt. We paid our way and booked our flights. Then, well, Egypt had a change in power; protests in the streets, etc. That was about 7 weeks before the tour was to go. At 6 weeks out it was clear to me that the tour wasn't going but it hadn't been officially canceled yet. I talked to them and they offered to refund most of the money; less what was lost on non-refundable tickets and $500 for their effort (total $725). NOTE: the contract states that they aren't responsible for for a number of issues that can cause cancellation, including civil unrest. Given the contract terms I thought that refunding that much acceptable and took the cash. Fast forward to 4 weeks before the tour. They send me an email that says the tour is officially canceled. They will refund the total less $500 fees. I send an email saying, does that mean I get $225 back? Given that I had already struck a deal I really didn't expect much but within an hour I had a response saying that the refund had been processed. WOW, that is service and an honest company. I understand that they have costs and time invested so they need to cover the expenses. BUT the tour cancellation wasn't either of our faults. I was happily surprised to see that they were trying to do what was RIGHT not was was most profitable. As an option they also offered more toward credit on a different tour. I will definitely call them again when things settle down. This is one super respectable business and it deserves our support.
