Parking is available in the non free lot, but there are also free spots up the hill. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not sure if there are other boats available, but I was on the Native. The boat itself is basically 2 dining/bar areas with a patio, with a really narrow outdoor viewing area running along the sides. There really is something therapeutic about cruising down the river. The steam boats are surprisingly quiet, and don't move too quickly. The weather cooperated the day I went which was also quite nice. It's pretty neat seeing the port in action, such as the lots completely full of imported cars, and the cranes lifting containers off ships. Definitely worth a trip at least once.

A rep from the company called and took my credit card info, charged me $500 to hold it. i never received a contact or email of any kind for this booking! The group decided against this , so a week after or June 29 I called and cancelled. The company refused to refund my $500 and 2 months later still no refund . Tried calling many times, left messages and emails but 2 months later still no refund Beware of this company as unethical practices , as he basically ripped off 72 year old nurses from Vancouver after many, many years of service to this community .

She spoke none of the languages and needed to learn how to get anything done. That being said most of the local guides were not much better. I expected an in-depth tour including the history of the Silk Road. When the guides were understandable for the most part the people in the group knew more than they did. The was one exception, our local guide in Kazakhastan and Kyrgyzistan. He was excellent. Everything I say below does not apply to our time in his 2 countries. The tour is listed with a difficulty rating of 2. It should have been listed as a 3 or 4. At .3 mile border crossing turned into a mile. Buses were always as far away from the point of entry (border crossing or airport) as they possibly could be. With a few exceptions, the food was tediously the same. Family style is served at the discretion of the restaurant, not those of us eating. The wine was frequently served as we were finishing dinner. Everything was done as fast and easy, not as the best and most desired. The advice given before the trip had many gaps and was not correct in many cases. Suffice it to say this was my first and last trip with Adventures Abroad. I should have read more reviews.

We fed turkeys, small pig, donkeys, llamas, peacocks, bunnies, and guinepeags. I got hugs from the goose and kisses from snow (horse) as well as back tickles from the other horse. We paddled for 6 days and camped for 5 nights. The scenery and whale watching aspects of the trip were excellent. The camps were comfortable and well supported by occasional re-supply from the base back in Port NcNiell. The camp on Sophia Island was particularly well appointed with already set tents, cots and a nice kitchen and sitting area. The food prepared by our guide was excellent and hearty. I would certainly recommend this group for paddlers of all levels of experience.

We learned a lot from him and enjoyed spending some time getting to know him. Our guide, Korry, was also excellent. He was also friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well fed and had a good time. There is never a guarantee of finding specific wildlife when you are out in the wild, but Larry and Korry knew the animals behaviors and made sure to stay up to date on recent patterns and updates from all the other local teams in order to give us the best chance to see orcas, humpbacks, eagles, seals, and lots of other wildlife while out kayaking. Even if we didn't see any whales the entire time, it still would have been a great trip. However, we did see lots of orca and humpbacks during our time. They even came right by our island one evening, where we could see them from our dinner table and hear them while sleeping in our tents. I highly recommend going with Larry and Discovery Expeditions. We hope to make another trip in the future.

The bus is scheduled to pick up here at 10:30. Not a good plan. I can understand that you want to leave room for flight delays but they don't happen often. Seven of us waited in the scorching sun for more than an hour. The airport was emptied and we still waited. They should really think about examining their schedules. The ride was fine and efficient. You can do better finding another shuttle/bus/taxi into Vancouver so keep searching.

Bestway was the only company I found that combined all those countries into one sensible and reasonably-priced itinerary. Bestway Tours and Safari arranged all hotels, flights, ground transportation and other details. Bestway's agents spoke excellent English, promptly responded to all my questions and were always available by phone and email. With Bestway's help, this otherwise-complex journey felt like a magic carpet ride: all I had to do was step out of my luxury hotel and greet my friendly guide, who then handed me a cool bottle of water, settled me into a comfortable seat and whisked me from one amazing adventure after another. Bestway arranged for me to have a different local guide in each country. Each guide was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, reliable and punctual. The guides really listened to my particular interests and then tailored the experiences to my preferences even when that involved lingering longer than originally planned at museums, mosques and mountains. I would highly recommend Bestway's Arab Sheikhdom tour to everyone who is looking for new lands to explore and has an interest in the Gulf States' amazing architecture, delicious food, ancient culture and magnificent deserts. When I signed up and paid a deposit the trip was for July 17 according to their website: "Tour Name Budapest, the Baltic States, and Poland Tour Date (MM/DD/YYYY) Jul 17, 2026 Name (first/middle/last) as it appears in your passport Susan Pease Room Type Requested Single room Current Citizenship United States" After I paid the deposit I was informed that was the wrong date, the tour actually started July 23: "First of all, I see you have signed up for the July 17, 2026 departure of our Budapest, the Baltic States & Poland tour. However, when I went to look in our system at the dates for this tour, it seems our system experienced an error, and the dates and prices on our website were actually incorrect. Our sincere apologies for this error, and we hope it does not inconvenience you at all! The actual departure date in July for this tour is July 23, 2026." 2. I told Bestway I was doing a genealogy tour after this tour and I was offered help booking things: "If you would like any assistance with booking flights, pre- or post-tour nights, etc., we are happy to help out. For your Poland add on, can you kindly confirm if you would like us to assist with any additional services, and if so, which ones? We can assist with accommodations, activities, transfers, flights, etc. For example, we could assist with services along the following lines, if desired: Extra nights in Tallinn Transfer from Tallinn to Vilnius Nights and activities in Vilnius Transfer and flights to Poland Touring activities, accommodation and transfers in Poland" When I asked for help with the bookings I was told they wouldn't help me. 3. When I paid the remainder of the cost - was told a mistake was made even though I specifically told them I was paying in US dollars. The fee had to be recalculated. "You mentioned you will be paying in USD. If you look at the receipt attached here, which also should have been sent through to your email, it seems you were passed on the CAD payment link instead of the USD payment link, and a deposit of CAD$ 500 has been run through instead. Future payments can all be in USD." All of these communications were with Mahmood Poonja and Kierra Jones. 4. When I arrived in Budapest I was not informed by Bestway that the tour would be run by Kompass. A heads up would have been helpful. When I asked for a contact person I was sent, via WhatsApp, to Anja Simic. She sent me to Emese Markgraf. She sent me to Norbert - so it took me 3 people to finally get to the person that was leading the group so I could find out where and what time to meet. This is a total lack of communication. Unfortunately the itinerary didn't include museums, except for Auschwitz. The tour was basically "here's the churches & museums & interesting places - go on your own". The only excursion included was Auschwitz. The rest of the sightseeing was a driving tour (stuff to look at) and walking tour (here's a bunch of stuff you can see on your own). Bestway should have flown us from Budapest to Krakow and Warsaw to Vilnius. Instead we spent 7-8 hours in a van on 2 different days.
