This is one of the best city courses in the PNW. We have golfed here often for over 20 years and I want to express my appreciation for the consistent commitment to excellence this course makes. Their prices are reasonable, their staff is excellent, (Great job Sam!), and they are constantly working on the condition of the course to meet its potential. Very scenic course. Tricky greens, but a fun challenge. Some fun holes with elevation changes and water hazards. Will definitely be back.

I golfed as a single at Legion Memorial last weekend. From the people in the clubhouse, the starter, and the excellent course conditions (after our crazy dry summer), it was a fantastic experience. I think it was Sam that checked me in. He remembered my name even though it's been many, many months since playing there. Such a warm, kind person. Anytime I've played there, I've always felt everyone was very professional and welcoming. There should be more local courses designed like this one - enough of a challenge for the average golfer, but doesn't beat you up! I highly recommend playing at Legion. read more

I had one of the most pleasant golfing experiences yesterday and wanted to share it with everyone here I have golfed just about everywhere around Seattle and many places down in north Scottsdale at expensive private country club golf courses My trip yesterday December 7 to Legion golf course in Everett was the first time I've golfed there and nearly 15 to 20 years and what a mistake I've made not golfing there Obviously mid December you don't get too many opportunities to golf in the state of Washington and the weather was clear and sunny although a little bit brisk and cold but figure golfing from 11 AM until 3 PM would be manageable I'm a member of Cedar Crest senior men's club in many of them shared with me the benefit of golfing in the winter months at Legion golf course tutor how well the course drains and things they typically dry there versus getting muddy with all the rain we get over the winter months And they were spot on with their recommendation as the course was in fantastic shape the fairways were dry all the primary cut secondary card was well manicured there really was no truly soggy muddy spots anywhere that I encountered throughout the entire golf course it was amazing They did have a few temporary green set up on about for the whole simply due to the fact that the severe overnight cold/frost froze up greens that were not hit by direct sunshine in the late morning hours to allow them to be playable so they set up temporary greens which was nice but that was only four of 18 holes Everyone that I encounter between the employees in the pro shop to the gentleman who introduced me to the couple guys that would be golfing with as I showed up as a single to the wonderful lunch I had afterwords in the restaurant and the great service by the waitress I was simply amazed at what a pleasant day of golfing and having a beer and a sandwich afterwards If you're looking to go golfing anywhere around Millcreek Everett Marysville you would be doing yourself a great disservice by not going to Legion Memorial golf course read more

This is a very nice public course at an affordable price. It's extremely walkable and caters to all skill levels with 4 sets of tees. While the course doesn't play very long (6100 from the white tees and 6600 from the blue tees), there are plenty of challenges to keep it interesting. The greens are massive and full of undulation, which really comes into play if you're having a bad day with your approach shots and short game. All the par 5s are right around 500 yards, but have bunkers that run the length of the fairways on both sides. I was happy to see that the sand was in great shape and very easy to judge. I wouldn't say the course had any breathtaking views or signature holes so to speak, but I really enjoyed the par 3 16th. It plays about 155 from the blues and 140 from the whites. It has about 30 feet of elevation change from the tee to the green and has water to the right with a greenside bunker. I was able to walk this course with a 4some on a Saturday morning in about 4 hours and 15 minutes, which I consider excellent pace of play, especially on a weekend! read more

Unfortunately, can't leave a positive review. Terribly poor course management. Over the last year or more, they just send as many groups out as possible. Makes for 5+hour rounds. Have left rounds early more than 3 times. Pace of play is horrible. Doesn't matter what time of day or day of the week, have tried them all. Constantly, a problem. Not worth it, for the cost. I had the pleasure to visit the Legion Memorial Golf Course this past Thursday, January 17, 2019. I was here to teach a social media marketing workshop to the local NARPM (National Association of Realtors Property Management) group. It was a fun and engaging session with local real estate pros and various small business owners. The golf course is a very beautiful setting and our space at the Greenside Grill for this event was perfect for a medium sized get together. We were just off the main dining room and there was about 25 of us. This is a very lovely facility and the views are quintessential Pacific Northwest nice. Let it be known, I'm not a golfer. But I really enjoyed being here. Even if you don't golf, this is a great place to enjoy a meal and a beverage. The Greenside Grill setup a little buffet lunch for our group which was very good. The staff here is super helpful and attentive. They also had a screen and projector so I didn't need all the equipment I brought with me. I now find myself rethinking why I don't golf! If I did play I'd certainly want to hang out here often! This place is such an Everett gem. Though I'm a native of the PNW (Renton), I simply do not know this particular neighborhood in Everett so it was such a great discovery. Yep I agree with Julie, this course is a great value and well maintained. I would say this course is on the easier side with a few tougher holes. I have done the "early bird" special here a number of times, I don't remember the price but I do remember that you get a bacon and egg sandwich on the turn as part of the deal. Or to be more accurate a crow on the 10th tee box gets a sandwich when you leave it unattended and go to tee off... that or a squirrel. Friendly staff, good course maintenance and affordability make this a great value. Downer? No range, and no nets to hit into to warm up. Hit the range first somewhere else or just count on your first few holes to suck. read more

Nice course just get ready for a 6 hour round. Ply is extremely slow and no one regulates it

This is one of the best public coarses in Washington. And if they don't keep raising the prices, it might be considered a good deal. I am not a great golfer, but I enjoy this course because there are difficult and easy holes. Actually, I don't pay attention to the actual golf things. What I notice is the great views from some of the holes. You can see the water and the mountains and the view is expansive. Play at twilight and experience a gorgeous sunset over the Puget Sound. The clubhouse is nice and there is a little grill/restaurant. Plenty of parking. Not driving range, but a nice putting and chipping area. read more

Great course to play after the rainy season we have had. The holes were punched 8 days ago. Should be rolling smooth in two more weeks. Tee boxes were in good shape. Good place to play a round of golf and have a meal at the clubhouse. read more

I really like to play here, the course is maintained relatively well and pace of play has not been too much of an issue. The place is one of the busier public courses in the area so it tends to get backed up a bit during prime hours. Overall the layout of the course is diverse to keep me interested and challenged throughout the round, and the greens are pure. My only knock is there is one grumpy guy who is always at the counter most of the days I play there and he should get a few lessons on customer service. I'll chalk that one up to him just being a grumpy old man, other than that, Legion is definitely a place I will golf regularly. read more

I have played this course many times over the years. The last time was on 04/27/2013. As usual, it was in pretty good shape, considering the weather we have had this spring. What do I look for in a course: 1) Layout - The holes vary in length. It makes you use a variety of clubs in your bag. I hate courses where all of the par three holes are the same length. That is not the case with legion. The par threes range from 137 to 200 yards from the white tees. The par four holes range from 315 to 390 yards. Again, you have to hit a variety of clubs and shots to score well. 2) Hazards - The fairways are wide, but there is trouble if you do not hit it straight. There are water hazards and one risk - reward shot with a green partially protected by water. There are no "hidden" hazards. You can pretty much see the trouble and have the opportunity to avoid it. 3) Greens - I never really have liked blazing fast greens. If you want that, go join a private club. The greens here are consistent and read pretty true. 4) Hills - A flat course is a boring course. The hills here are not very large, but you do have to take into consideration the elevation change on several holes. This is one of my favorite municipal courses in the area. read more

We golfed Legion early afternoon today to try out their new layout. The course was in good shape and new holes were nice. Only problem was we waited on every hole after hole number one. No marshal was on the course during our round. We were a couple of groups behind two 5-somes. I've always liked Legion, but not sure I will golf there for a while in hopes the pace picks up. read more

Legion is in great shape. This summer has been really hot and dry therefore making it very difficult to keep courses in this area green. Legion is in much better shape than courses relative in price and location. I paid $27 for a twilight round on a Saturday at 4pm. The course is very walkable. The reason they missed out on 5 stars is the pace of play. Obviously you can expect long rounds on Saturdays but there was a group in front of us with 5 people and they were all playing there own ball. I understand making an exception of having 5 people in a group if they agree to play best ball or alternate shot. We started at 4 and sunk our last putt on 18 in the dark. Legion is a clean and nice facility. The staff is professional and helpful. I recommend playing here, especially during twilight. The course is forgiving and at times you will have some tricky holes to challenge your game. read more

This is a just OK golf course. Nothing special. Like a lot of munis, it's fairly beat up by midsummer. I may have a poor first impression, in part, because in making the reservation ( on a week day), we asked if our twosome could play alone and were assured that it was no problem and that's how they'd make our reservation. Frankly, we were surprised and so asked again. "Not a problem" they said. On arrival, we were paired with another twosome. When we told the pro-shop guy that we'd been told we were playing alone, he had a great time loudly treating us like we were idiots. In a nutshell: Run of the mill muni course employed by liars and jerks. Have fun. read more

After the day that I had at Legion memorial golf course I have to write a review. This is the first time that I have been to this golf course and will never return. The staff was great but the clientele was despicable. My boss and I set up an 11:30 tee time for 18 holes. We finished the front 9, went into the clubhouse for a beer and hot dog. Place was busy with a new lady running the cash register. A group of 4 guys in their 20's sat down behind us swearing at the register clerk calling her names that cannot be repeated in front of families, kid's, and other clientele. My boss heard enough of the fowl language and spoke to the inconsiderate golfer. The golfer called him a fag&^# and asked him outside to settle this. Mind you, I had to break up the drunk fowl mouth golfer once because he was trying to start a fight with my boss in the dinning area. I spoke with the pro shop attendant on the way out, telling him to call the police. Nothing happens after that. Can't believe that this is what happens when a drunk adolescent doesn't get his French fries and in a timely manner. Will never set foot in this place again. The kitchen staff is great, food was good, greens and golf was good as well. The pro shop really needs training on how to handle dumb drunk, immature golfers who don't get their French fries in a timely manner. My apologies to the parents and children who heard and saw this disgusting display of behavior. read more

Great Course, Great Service because of the Staff, Good Restaurant with Outstanding Value... I just played the course today (Feb 8, 2015) It's about time I review Legion Golf Course... First, I have played Legion Memorial so many times I truly couldn't accurately even guess how many times I've played it. The Course: Legion Memorial Golf Course is in Everett Washington and it's simply the driest course in Snohomish County. The greens are always amazing and the Fairways even allow the ball to bounce even after a heavy rain. In the winter, the ruff is wet and slightly muddy although very playable. I mean really, it's a golf course in Washington State and between December and February - you won't be disappointed. However, you would/will be surprised and amazed with the consistent playability. Legion Memorial Golf Course isn't really a Secret to the locals and won't be to you either once you've experience it. At this point I'm mostly targeting the golfers in the surrounding greater Seattle area with this post. This course is wide open with and surprisingly challenging especially depending upon which tee boxes you choose to test you're talents from. On a 1 to 10... It's a solid year round 9. Especially in the Summer when everything is bouncing and rolling perfectly when it peaks to be an honest 10. The more I play there, the more I want to play there... The Service & Staff: I'm a picky guy. I expect good old fashioned service from every business I visit and usually am seriously disappointed. The consistency of outstanding service at Legion Memorial that I and everyone I know who plays this course presently are eager to return to simply because the service is so much better than any other course around. A close second to Legion Memorial is The Golf Club at Newcastle while that course is $150 to play a single round so the service should be top shelf. I truly believe the Staff at Legion Memorial sets the standards for all other golf courses to follow. If I had a golf course in the area, I'd try to snap up every employee at Legion Memorial that I could and pay them double. When you arrive at the Pro Shop, they are eager to help, care and are happy that you are there to play their course. The employees treat you as a friend and want you to be happy. The marshals actually take care of anything and everything. If you are part of a slow play group... You are on notice in the friendliest way possible. The marshals joke and keep close track of you as an individual within your group. You are taken care of. The Restaurant: Okay, it's a municipal golf course... The restaurant is way above average. The breakfasts are solid and the Hamburgers are really good with lots of French fries. What do you want...? It's way above average. The people in the kitchen are on top of it. It doesn't surprise me that they are always busy. The food is a very good value. The jam is really good and seems to be homemade and is a must for the toast. Overview: This course is managed by a company named Premier. Premier offers free memberships that provides discounts then they provide even larger discounts the more you play any of their courses that they manage - a good value. I've been to several other courses and understand that the Golf business is tuff. Of all of the Premier properties, Legion Memorial is the one outshines them all. The Staff should easily get a salary increase because of the consistent quality of service, quality of playability and Value. Walter Hall is the other golf course in Everett Washington that is managed by Premier. They do a great job as well although, as i said - Legion sets the standards... Do yourself a favor... Drive past Jackson, Jefferson, Bellevue, Snohomish, Kayak and Willows Run... You'll be glad you did. Welcome to you're new go to Golf Course destination... I play to a +3 handicap and am 55 year old male. Even I find this course challenging even though it is an open course to play. SO, Go... Spend Part of the Day. You'll be Happy you Did. Pretty decent golf course in my opinion. I have played there countless times over the past 13 years. The course tends to be one of the dryer ones in the area and the greens can get really nice. Pretty good value. What I don't like is the senior discount age of 62. I think it should be 55 like a lot of other courses in the area. 62 just isn't right in my humble opinion, and to me it is just greedy. read more

Poor experience here folks. Arrived two minutes late for an 11:30 am tee time and they told my father and I that they had already switched another group into our slot. We couldn't believe it! They told us that because we were late and the weather was nice that we wouldn't be able to get on for a few hours at least, and that's if we were lucky. OK course .............always crowded as they like to pack em in, so be prepared for a slow round............greens undulated but are usually on the slow side..........there are some good holes but some hokey ones as well............NOT one of the best public courses in Washington, but one of only two in the city of Everett. read more
