My brother in law and I golfed Jackson this past week (08/01/26), and after golfing Willows Run, Jackson was a welcomed site! We played here in the early 2000's and it's still a great course. They are also in the process of updating their range which is truly nice! The staff welcomed us with a positive attitude that was truly inviting! They answered any questions/concerns we had. The starter, rangers/marshalls were keeping a close eye on the pace of play which kept things moving as should. The fairways and greens were well kept and manicured. The place in itself was very clean too. We would definitely play here again and would suggest to other golfers to give it a try! Skip Willows and give Jackson a round! read more

Played with my brother in law, we used to play here 2 decades ago when he lived up here and always liked it. It used to be pretty wet but they seem to have gotten control of that issue. Talked to Mark, the starter that day, he told me the city has been investing money in the course to control the water. A couple of the greens had some water on them but it was raining so to be expected. The course is as good as it was 20 years ago or maybe better. Not sure why the rating for this course is so low, after golfing the ridiculously bad Willows Run this course was really good. The Course Marshalls need to move the traffic along a little better, there was a group in front of the group in front of us that was spending too much time on the greens. That started a bit of a backup, our 4 hour round took 5 1/2. But we enjoyed every minute. read more

My first time to Cedarcrest ever today. I should have read the reviews on pace of play. 3 holes took 1 hour and 15 minutes. I decided being angry for 1 hour and 15 minutes was enough for one day and left. When I asked the marshal if it was always like this, he just said well yes, it's a nice day on a municipal course. A 7 hour golf round is not normal. Don't go there. read more

What a F***ing dump! I've golfed some goat tracks but this takes a top flight cake on that front. Cart girls are fantastic but that's about all I can say that's positive. Tee boxes looked like Iranian airfield post a Trump-Israeli bombing campaign. Arguably some of the worst public course turf management in the state of Washington. Meanwhile the greens keeping crew was running around in their flatbed carts lecturing patrons about green etiquette and how to park carts on the path. You clowns ain't working Augusta National! My front lawn is in better shape ... do better and you're more qualified to manage the playground sandbox. Absolute joke ... i can't believe this place is operating as anything other than a non profit. read more

Update on previous review. It's pretty apparent when reviewing other reviews that marshals are an issue to be addressed. The presumed volunteers, while well meaning, are not performing to public perception. If I was the manager, I would monitor this closely. Spend a couple of days interviewing players as they leave the course, rather than relying on Yelp. You may get some insights as to how effective (versus harmful) the players' experience with your marshals actually are. From the sounds of it, the marshals are a collection of retired old farts that have the "get off my lawn" attitude and are power tripping like most cops. We have golfed here often for over 20 years I want to express my appreciation for the consistent commitment to excellence this course makes. Their prices are reasonable, their staff is excellent, and they are constantly working on the condition of the course to meet its potential. Its a great trek for a city course and very seldom slow. Fun course. Cheapest in the county and in good condition. Made me feel good about myself because it is fairly short.

Definitely not worth the price! Course conditions were average at best. Uneven tee boxes, fairways were divot driven and ball marks on every green that had not been fixed. This tells me the golfers don't care about the course and have no etiquette. Been 30 yrs since I first played it and don't plan on returning. read more

I would like to bring up an incident that happened at your establishment on 10/5/24. I am a delivery driver for Dominos and your establishment was hosting a public event for cross country. Several people from the event ordered from our business to have it delivered to yours. The first delivery I took was fine. The lot guard let me pull into the parking lot up to in front of the restaurant to deliver to people at your event in safety. The second time I went, there was a different lot guard on the taller side. They refused to let me into the parking lot and had me park next to the heavy traffic road which wasn't all that safe. I was then cussed at in a vulgar and demeaning way multiple times by the lot guard. When I asked to speak to his manager the head manager was there next to him. Your head manager allowed this lot guard to berate me for delivering to your establishment. At this time they began to belittle me and began to tell people that delivery drivers always speed and that we would hit kids if they allowed us to go up into the parking lot. I felt so bad with the way I was treated. It severely triggered my PTSD and had to go through heavy anxiety with work afterwards. The people who ordered to your establishment kept apologizing about the behavior of your employees because they observed part of it. I am a decorated military veteran and being treated this way was disgusting, unprofessional, and unethical. I would like to get in contact with an owner to talk about this incident in further detail. read more

Horrible experience overall. The pace of play is ridiculous, even for a muni course. Four group backed up and tee time is 7 minutes apart. They want money so bad and these ridiculous tee times never gonna keep a normal pace of play. Cart path only in June because it's just a pound. Was having a great time until the Marshalls started harassing us for a "slow pace". We had two new golfers and were still playing best ball keeping pace with the other golfers, but I guess that wasn't fast enough for their overbooked course. Was really planning on going back because the course was beautiful and we were having a great time here, but I guess if you're not racing through the course you're not good enough for this place. I have played golf here many times but yesterday was a low point. A group ahead of us was loud and acting like they were the only ones on the course. They were obviously frequent guests here. Apparently the marshals can't do anything about them because they then complain about the marshal. I think that the marshals should be empowered and supported to do something about groups that hold up many groups behind them and are overly loud. In all my playing golf [over thirty years] I have never encountered a marshal that I thought was being over zealous or had an attitude. We should support folks who will act as marshals. read more

I live right next to the golf course so I play all the time as well as I'm in the senior men's club league here. This is a really nice golf course par 70. So you only have a single par 5 on each side. The grounds crew really stays on top of things the best they can to keep fairways cut nicely as well as the secondary rough and the greens are always in pretty decent shape considering the amount of play this course gets. It's really great value especially if you have a premier card to get discounts as well as downloading the app can save you more money. It's great for any caliber of golfer I'm a 12 handicap and I struggle at times to score well here just because of the challenging layout will you have some narrow fairways that have trees on both sides you have to hit good shots to score. It's the best golf course within a 15 mile drive much better than kayak point or Glenneagle or Battle Creek. The restaurant is great for sandwich on the turn or cold beer or a really nice choice of menu options after your round. Full-service bar inside as well. There is also a beer cart girl for the summer months. You can pay a lot more to golf elsewhere and not have as enjoyable a round and the nice conditions what you can get here. If there is a downside it's the winter play conditions just due to the layout of the land has a lot of low spots that can get really wet and hold water through the winter months. Some of the holes will drain really well and other fairways will have problem spots but it is Washington and it does rain so there's not too many dried golf courses around in November December January read more

Note- review from an (Los)Angeleno. This is a legit 3 star relative to the area. Easily a 4 in my book. Tee boxes were meh. You can find a level spot. Fairways were open. Easyish course but it isn't level. Hole design and slope are factors of where to place your shot. Greens were average. Green but there were lots of divots and scars in areas. Putting is tougher than you think due to the lies. But I would return in a heartbeat. Par 70 course. Only one par 5 on each half. There are fantastic views as posted. The carts are gas and no gps. What a great short course. You can tell it's been around forever... but that's not a bad thing. It's well maintained and updated. It's not too challenging but that's good for me! Prices are great and I think I'll be back here again on my travels through to Seattle sometime. read more

My dad, brother and I all decided to hit the links for the first time in quite a while and we found a great deal out at Cedarcrest. 19.00/person for 2pm on a Saturday, made us quite happy with the value. We pre-booked our tee time online, and they were very prompt about getting us out onto the course as soon as we arrived. The timing worked out perfectly, with us neither catching the people in front of us, or holding up the people behind us, and we were playing fairly slowly, with a lot of hunting for our various shots. The fairways on most of the holes, were reasonably well kept, the fringes could have been better, but as long as you stay down the middle of the fairway, you should be relatively pleased with the grounds. The greens were the one downfall to the course, because they gave very little cushion or play to the ball and were exceptionally quick, to the point that we were having to tap the ball from 40ft away, just to avoid hitting it off the green entirely. The service from the drink cart was great, and they had a pretty good selection of beers in the cart, which came around very regularly. One big plus for me was the views that can be seen on the back 9. there were some fantastic mountain views that really brough the day together. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend making the trip out there, especially if you can snag their early twilight rates starting at 2pm. read more

Now I'm only yelping this not as a golfer but as a "retired" cross country runner. Back in the good ol days at MPHS every year we had a meet here at the Cedarcrest Golf Course. These were the meets I'd always skip or fake sick only because they have a lot of hills. I guess that's good for golfing but not on my knees. I remember one day at the meet I guess the Golf Course didn't inform their customers that by 3pm they had to leave because this course was going to turn into a cross country track and everyone needed to leave except the runners. Well I bet that infuriated them, because as I recall one time while doing a warm up run, a couple of my team members and I were almost hit by a deranged infuriated douchebagery golf cart driver. After that I decided to never golf here ever even if I was 60 and bored. -Oh and one thing. It's right next to a main street so your car can sometimes get hit by a flying golf ball. The nets only work sometimes. read more

Course had an early bird weekday special, $29, 18 holes with cart and hot dog + coffee; taxes included. This is a good value that's hard to find these days. For a muni course, it ranks among the top. Fairways were in good condition, though there were a fair number of un-repaired divots (they don't have refilled sand bottles at the turn once you used up the sand bottle in the cart). I used my driver 4 times (the 2 Par 5s, and the longer 2 Par 4s). The other Par 4s are short enough for a wood, and probably best, given some fairways are quite narrow and tree lined on both sides! Majority of greens were in great shape, and exceptionally fast (though as expected for public muni courses, there were also un-repaired ball marks). Even though we spent 15 mins on the practice green, it wasn't enough to get familiarized with the green speed. The rolls are true, and one will probably need to play several times to increase one's green reading accuracy and pace. Even though i three putted more than usual, I enjoyed the challenge of these greens. Undoubtedly, there were some pin positions on slopes that were extremely challenging. Net, even though this wasn't one of our low scoring days, we enjoyed the outing. We will definitely be back. p/s. Note - there's no practice driving range, only a hitting net to warm up one's swing. read more

Great little course. The logo sucks but everything else is spot on even the dick that landed a ball only 5 yds from where I was standing. I guess our 14 minute per hole wasn't fast enough for him and instead of calling out four or saying sorry he just muddled how he hit better than he thought. NO SHIT! Every course has its assholes. Terrible experience course was good and maintained. Golf Marshall's are a joke felt harassed the whole time due to us sucking at golf went with multiple people that have never golfed before. Stopped three different occasions saying people were to drunk funny part is this was after second green at 10am yes we are drunk at 10 am not good expierence. Front office awesome no complaints there. Beer Cart was friendly no problem there. Bar associates friendly also 10s there. Main issue was felt harassed while time by Marshall's due to us sucking at golf. Do not recommend course for amateurs or beginners. Maybe a pro because Marshall's were so concerned there due to worrying about if there is a pro on course. Lost our business plus the ten that also were there. read more

I've lived near cedarcrest for two years now. Thoroughly enjoyed playing there my first year, but was sidelined with an injury last year and my playing was limited. I played a couple times this spring and was shocked that they even opened the course with the amount of rain that we've had. My buddy and I played in late March and of course the carts were cart path only. The rough was so soft that our feet sank into mud just walking from the cart to our balls in the fairway. Lost balls in the fairway were pretty disappointing but we figured we'd drink and have a good time regardless, spring golf has its disadvantages in Washington as we all know. Well, we tried again on mothers day and we're appalled at the course conditions. Paying $50 per person with a cart, you'd expect at least a playable course. It looked like they hadn't mowed since we were here in march! The rough was at least 12 inches high, the fairways were stupid long and the greens just as bad. Mud everywhere. 8-10 lost balls each. If you're gonna charge me that kind of money, give me my goddamn money's worth. Shut the golf course down until it's playable. I understand trying to make a buck, but you're gonna lose customers forever treating them like this. At least give us a deep discount for the conditions. Walter Hall was giving away golf for $15 with a cart, hot dog and a soda on the same day. We should have made the short drive. Thanks cedarcrest for making sure I'll never go back, not even for food, which is excellent. Don't rip off your customers and expect us to sit back and take it. I have plenty of golfer friends and we'll gladly drive to your competitors from now on. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS GOLF COURSE! read more

Pretty solid city course. Fairway and green conditions are very good for drought conditions. It is one of the better maintained courses at this price point. I also really like the long straight (and somewhat tight) fairways here. read more

Wow... what an example of a course declining into failure. We played this course yesterday and had not played it in two years. Disappointed is too simple a word... This course has declined to the point of being the worst course I've played in the last ten years. Grooming was pathetic with deeps hacks everywhere, cut grass not collected, multiple levels on the greens, soggy mud pits all over, (even though it has been entirely dry for months), body chalk outlines everywhere - so many that I stopped counting, EXTREMELY slow with no Marshall on staff, no dress code as evidenced by tee shirts, tank tops, and hiking boots by multiple golfers, golf carts on the fairways abandoned by staff members so you didn't know if you could hit or not, filthy stinky water in the water hazards, the list goes on and on... I gave it one star for a decent practice area and nice drink cart girl and another star for the good restaurant on site. The City of Marysville should be ashamed! This used to be a decent course worth a round or two per year but has now declined to a point of being the worst course in the Puget Sound. Don't waste your time or resources! read more

Not sure why the course has gotten such a bad rap on here, though most of the reviews are a few years old. The course layout is fun, the setting is good and the condition is pretty good. I played for I think $57 with cart and a sleeve of Pro V 1's, so really $45 ish. Golf in the northwest is pretty spendy, so taking that into consideration the course is a decent value. read more

Played here a couple days ago & was dumbfounded by the horrible conditions. There is rough over a foot high everywhere. Yes, we're all aware that we had the wettest winter ever, & there are places on most courses that you can't run a mower, but there has been no effort whatsoever to maintain this place yet they're still charging full price. The greens are also in bad shape. They were aerified a month ago & haven't recovered, weren't mowed, have a mold problem, & looked as though the cups haven't been moved in a week. Horrible marshal. Made us skip holes, no one behind us for three holes. Said he wanted our threesome to catch up to a twosome 2 holes in front of us. Why again no one behind us for three holes? Played or round in 3 hours and 42 minutes. Stated our complaint at the clubhouse, "sorry guys" is all they could say. Really?? Pretty sure we paid for 18 holes.
