First I'll say I'm new to driving ranges and just trying to improve my swing this year. Since I live Down the street, I finally decided to try this place. I've been to quite a few ranges the past year, this is by far the worst, Especially being a woman and coming here alone. I waited over 5 minutes for staff to even come and ring me up for balls. As they come up they ask if I even have clubs and I show them I do. I let him know I'm new to this location and was wondering how it worked. He was very short and seemed to talk down to me. So I try to find a bay, and immediately was met with a gaggle of men just staring me down. Let's just say, I was extremely uncomfortable and will not be returning. Let alone the place definitely needs a facelift. I was hoping to get lessons at this location but seeing how today went. I'll pass and go to snohomish, they're much more friendly. read more

I'm the kind of golfer who goes to the driving range way more often than playing 18, and I love this range! I'm new to the area and am pleased to find this range, much better than where I came from. The prices are very reasonable, in fact much lower than a Top Tracer range I used to go to: $21 for an extra large bucket, $17 for large. Top Tracer is a wonderful technology: I usually start by practicing with different clubs, (it records ball flight data for different clubs) and then I play one of the many virtual golf courses. For a driving range, the balls are pretty good - I see reviews that are critical of the balls, but if you want better balls you'll pay more. Mats are in good shape, rubber tees of all heights available in all bays. There are lots of bays and I've never had to wait, but I avoid times when I know they'll be busy. The bays are heated, canopied, and clean, the Top Tracer machines work perfectly and are accurately calibrated. The staff is friendly but doesn't say much, no pressure at all. Instruction is available but I haven't taken a lesson; again, they don't say much but no pressure either. I haven't tried the putting/chipping area, which looked to be in rough shape from winter but improving as things dry out. The indoor lounge area is comfortable and golf is always on the TV. read more

I like this place and have been going there for over 20 years, but ... The bottom line is that their golf balls suck and they wait way too long to get rid of the bad ones, and even when they cycle new ones in, only a quarter or a third of what you get in a bucket are the new ones and the others are old and beat up. And it wouldn't be so bad except that a couple years back they put in Top Tracer and raised their prices quite a bit. And that's great and worth it but ONLY IF the data you get is half way reliable. But with the beat up, crappy balls - aside from ball speed (sort of) and launch angle everything else (distance, curve, etc.) simply CAN NOT be accurate. And unless you're a beginner you can just SEE how the ball flights are wonky. Some of them literally draw for the first half of shot and then slice. Others look like nice high shots and then suddenly dive. It's weird. I've decided to start going somewhere else, but admittedly, at the end of the day they're super busy, so they really have no incentive to provide better range balls. And apparently there are enough people who don't care to keep them busy. read more

As a new golfer I got a lesson at the super range, I was given video analysis of my swing and tailored tips and adjustments to my swing. Columbia Super Range has a new facilities manager and just over the past couple of months has made a difference. Stuff that may have been broken has been fixed. A large bucket of balls has 98% new balls in it. The over all appearance of the facility looks clean and organized. I would have to say a great place to go and have a beer with your buddies and play a little closest to the pin!!! read more

3.5 Star if I could. The facility is nice, it's covered and heated in the winter time. The staff is nice and usually will help with anything you need or just have a friendly conversation with you. Why the takeaway of stars? My number one issue is the quality of the golf balls you get. They are pretty poor quality overall, half of them are cracked or broken up pretty good. It messes with the ball flight and distance so it's hard to tell how well you really are striking the ball. The other issue I have is the hours, they close at 8:30pm on the weekends....even though the sun doesn't go down until after 9pm right now. You would think that it would be open later, especially in the summer time. Overall I enjoy practicing my swing here. With new range balls I would probably give this place a 5 star rating. read more

Chuck the golf instructor is the GOAT. I've had 5+ different golf instructors over the course of 10 years and none of them were able to fix my slice. I did one 60 minute lesson with Chuck and now I'm hitting the ball straight. He has an eye for the game and has been teaching golf for 40+ years. The guy is a wizard for fixing my slice. I thought I was cursed or something but the golf gods blessed me with Chuck. he helped me adjust a few minor things in my setup and 1 thing in my actual down swing and I'm feeling like a young Scotty Schef now!! read more

While there hours are stated as closing at 9, unlike any other business, that doesn't mean you are able to do transactions at 9. So they aren't really open for "business" (buying or selling goods) unless they are not referring to the range business (yet that's in the name) and their business is selling sodas and ice cream bars (as the golf store is closed much earlier - but that is posted). Thursday 8:38pm. Go in to buy a bucket of balls. Counter rep "sorry, we stop dispensing balls at 8:30." Apparently they leave right at 9pm, and everyone needs to be out before 9, and it is impossible to hit 60 balls in 20 minutes. The very next day, Friday, 8:22pm. Sign posted at the counter "Last bucket of balls sold today @ 8:15". So a My big issue here is, why don't they say on their site that they close at 8:15, or well, maybe 8:30 in Thursday, and 8:15 on Friday. As I type this, they are still open. We asked at the front and the two guys that were standing their chatting stated they always stop at 8:15. The irony - I bought a "loyalty card" as that is what they call their gift cards and give you a $10 bonus. Not cool. After countless years in retail and dining out probably 1,000+ times, I have never seen a business turn away customers 10 minutes before close, let alone 38. Note - I drove home and, wrote this review, and they are still supposedly open for another 15 minutes ‍. It's really too bad. Not only do I have their loyalty card, I also have lessons on their books with one of the pros, Kevin who is there (who is awesome btw) but I don't think I can ever go back to this unbelievably mismanaged establishment. Columbia Super range is the closest and most convenient place for hitting balls after work. I like this range much more than the UW practice range that I frequent. The pin placements offer a variety of distances for honing your game. I also like the greens at the driving range; with enough spin, you can actually stop your balls. The mats help with the spin too! This range has quality mats that are in good condition. In addition to the range, the Par 2 chip and putt course offers a good opportunity to tune up your short game. I recently spent 2 hours on their pitch and putt. Even though there were 8 people practicing, there was plenty of room to play thru the challenging course and/or stay on a hole to practice. This range is big (their name promotes it). In the last 2 times I've visited, there were a ton of balls out on the field. I would recommend that the course spend more time retrieving balls, so that the facility looks better maintained. The counter staff has always been very friendly and helpful, the Hawaiian dude that helped me last time was especially nice. Another thing to note is that purchasing a bucket before 5PM, gets you the "Happy Hour" rate! I recommend stopping by the range if you are in the area. Note that the hours listed are not their actual hours. They sell their final buckets at some arbitrary point before close every night. Some nights it's 830. Some nights it's 815. You'll just have to drive all the way down there to find out. If they want to be closed and lights out at 900'then they should post their close time as 800. Val Patrick is hands down the best golf instructor I've ever had. And among the top instructors for any activity I've ever received training in: Skiing, dancing, windsurfing, etc. I'm your basic novice golfer. Now I can actually hit the ball with both some distance and accuracy, and I'm barely getting started. All this after a few years of just treading water, not really making any improvements. The biggest thing I'm gaining from our weekly lessons is an understanding of how my body must move. She helps get this into my head with visualizations, metaphors that I can relate to, and exercises that help to put your body in the right place and cause the right movements. We showed up to hit a few balls this evening, I had checked their hours before we left and it said they were open until 9. We figured we could share a bucket of balls and just practice a little. We arrived at 8:16. I understand that is technically one minute late, but the guy working there yells out LAST BUCKET IS SOLD AT 8:15 . Not, hey guys sorry you just missed the cut off or anything. It was totally rude. I just feel like, especially during all this covid mess, businesses would be a little more appreciative of customers who actually want to come to their establishment. I have come here for the past two years. I had recently purchased a Taylor made 3 wood sim 2. It had broken off when I had hit and I wasn't worried about having it fixed by the place I had purchased it. The part that upset me is that I could see my club head maybe 20 yards away and the gentleman in the front had told me they would be able to grab it. So I was okay with that, but then I had to return to the desk before I was about to leave and they said "sorry sir we cannot grab it today." Which contradicted his last thing he told me. I was very disappointed that I wouldn't be able to have it fixed today. "We will give you a call when we can get to it. Congrats Columbia I will never return here again, and nor will all of my golf buddies. read more

Came here to relax with some friends and hit a few balls at their range. Started off alright and then the lady at the desk came over and said that there was a report of my group purposely aiming at a cart that was driving through the range and it broke the plexiglass. I'm flattered they thought that my group was that good at golf but after not playing for over 5 years, not so. In any regard, if they don't want something hit, don't have it out on the range during operating hours. Second, don't accuse customers of doing something on purpose that is damaging when you don't have the facts. Don't get me wrong or anything... they are not rude by any means, but there's a definitely a difference. However, as far as a Pro Shop and Driving Range go these guys offer the northend a top notch facility. New owner and the place sucks more than ever, no more extended hrs. for the summer so they place is full of a-holes taking up the best spots for hours on end while the text, watch TV and even coach, so all you here is ! ? 100 ... .NO!) I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Was in this past Monday morning and was browsing around the used club area in the pro shop. I overheard the lady who was working the morning shift say something about a homeless man coming into the shop. I mean -- it is 128th. Anyways I continued browsing with open ears to see if there was going to be a brawl. Next thing I see a nicely groomed (he had a little fro -- but who cares?) and dressed man come out of the restroom -- and get ready to golf. Next thing you know -- this man is being KICKED out! I was absolutely shocked. I stepped outside and overheard this man was going to PRACTICE before a SPONSORED game from Colombia Super Range! Is it against club rules to change into golf attire from work clothes? Absolutely distasteful and very trashy. Not how you conduct business or profile clients! Shame on you! Can say I walked out after I saw some clubs I would have purchased -- but couldn't have even think of a reason to buy anything from this outdated shop. P.S. I saw him drive out in a local and popular construction companies vehicle. Last time I checked -- homeless men don't get opportunities to drive around a insured, licensed and bonded companies vehicle and not work for them. Just saying. This is my go to range in the northend. It's easy to get to and there is always plenty of parking. There are plenty of tees and it has a lot of space per stall. Even during the busy times, you can always get a spot. They have a nice chip and put. The proshop is well stocked. I bought my new clubs here. They gave me excellent service and the best price for a great product. The staff has always been friendly. read more

Columbia Super Range is the closest full-service driving range so I am a regular for that reason. While the facility is showing its age (a little shabby), it does include a lot of amenities. They have a well-stocked pro shop (clubs, shoes, clothing, balls, etc. The lounge area includes a fairly large TV that almost always has some sporting event going on. They also have tables and chairs if you want to just hang out and relax. The pitch and put short game area includes a full nine holes and a large putting green. You can practice all day for $4, so it's a great value. It's rarely busy back there so take advantage. Unfortunately the driving range is not great. You basically are hitting into small patches of grass and dirt surrounded by concrete. As a result, balls are really beat up and you don't get a sense of true range and roll since the targets do not respond the same as a real grassy environment. You also must hit off of mats. As a plus, they do have covered stalls with overhead heating so you can hit balls comfortably when it's cold. Additionally, you can get a large bucket for something like $8 if you are a member and arrive before 5:00 p.m. Columbia Super Range is good not great, and it's good enough to do the job. read more

I've been going to this place for years and like everybody there, including the customers. Be skeptical of these long bad reviews. Those people must have people problems. There's enough slots you can move around. I bounce around different slots while I'm training on their different targets whether close or long. This is a convenient location to hit a bucket before/after work. It's lit and Parking is okay. Seems pretty good for what it is. A driving range. They do have new balls which alot of reviewers complained about. Employees where very nice to us. Didn't look at the pro shop. They have a nice little lounge you can sit and relax. Also some chairs out by the stalls. They are heated too. My main complaint is how busy it is. Sometimes when my buddy's go we get loud and such and don't want to interup other players. Would be awesome if it was double decker and open 24/7 with the use of a badge reader. Some day. read more

A great place to practice. Mats are good and the balls are fairly new. I thought the price for balls were fair. It was $10 for 90 balls. The staff are great people and will help you out as needed. Loaner clubs available if you need them. I saw plenty of kids hitting balls were their parents and grandparents. Fun for all. This range is one of two in the area. Great place to hit some balls, place is busy on the weekends (to be expected.) We were driving by and decided to stop in to hit some balls with our two boys - ages 11 and 9. They wrapped up a golf camp program just the week before and wanted to show us how their swings had progressed. Pro shop, zero help from staff. We might have been in our weekend wear - shorts and tees - no flip flops, but no one offered any assistance. Front desk staff are polite and helpful. Buckets of balls are reasonably priced. Boys enjoyed hitting the balls, they both wished they had actual green to hit from and not turf mats. We'll be back! read more
