We thought Bento was an aggressive dog, but Jamie said he was just reactionary so he was willing to train him. We have been working with Jamie for over five months, and we love his teaching methods. He is very skilled and provides us (the humans) with individual instructions on how to improve our dog and our own reactions to him. We have been dedicated to getting Bento to be less reactive and he is doing much better. We have walked the mall three times; once with a group of his dogs and twice with just Jamie. Jamie has an excellent assistant instructor when he needs him to be available. We are now working on agility training, which our dog loves. We love Jamie and will continue to have him train our dog for as long as we can.

Jean was full of great information and very helpful in the initial transition to our home. She also had completed numerous health tests including the one for DM. Ziva is definitely "high drive", very smart and yet super loving. At 7 months she already knows all her basic commands. She is growing very proportionately and has looked like a mini-German Shepherd since coming home(ears straight up). Jean has a strong sense of what to send her clients in matching dogs to people. If you are looking for a "Top Quality German Shepherd" I suggest you contact her. We have had GSD's for 20 years and she is definitely one of the best we have come in contact with. Ziva is a great addition to our family and gets along well with our male GSD! Jean Schrader is a great breeder!

Needless to say the puppy never saw maturity as he had to be put down after only 24 months. He had Mega-Esophagus disease. This was diagnosed by the last vet that saw him and told us the Mega-Esophagus is a genetic trait pasted down from either male or female. We approached Jean Schrader with this information and she presented us with the puppy contract that is written in very grey verbiage that even a lawyer doesn't understand. She also told us this was nothing she did and she had never heard of such a problem and then told us we had to have caused this. Basically slamming the door in our face. With this in mind I hope that anyone that is looking for a German Shepherd or whatever Jean is selling keeps looking. She cannot be trusted and her staff cannot be trusted. Do not buy ANYTHING from Schraderhaus K9. You will regret it not only emotional but financially also. I have already contacted AKC, ASPCA and any other agency that will get involved with this to shut Schraderhaus K9 down. No one or animal needs to go through this ever again. Good luck in searching elsewhere, MongoLikeCandy

After our local training place closed we were looking for other options and committed to positive reinforcement training. Unfortunately a lot of trainers use aversives, especially with large strong dogs. We were so excited to find Julia, and after our meet & greet we were confident she was a good choice. Julia did a 2 week board & train with our dog while we were traveling, mainly focusing on leash skills and practicing calm behavior around exciting things. We noticed an immediate improvement, but have also been continuing to work on the training at home after our follow up. I'm happy to report that we are continuing to see improvement using Julia's methods.

I opted for the cut with the exception that the upper body hair be trimmed to half the current length. What Chico got was instead all his hair cut to ~1". The groomer (owner?) said that's a standard puppy cut, but when I reminded her of our discussion a couple hours before, she started making excuses, so I had to remind her a couple times of my initial request before she apologized for her mistake.
