What they do for cats and kittens that wouldn't otherwise have a chance is amazing to say the least. My experience with them has made them more than just a rescue to me, they are going to forever be a part of my life and I will tell you why October 2024 We found a cat under a neighbor who wasn't staying in the homes porch as repairs were being done to it. This poor kitten had a broken jaw, I'm talking like half of her jaw was completely missing; her tongue hung out and she drooled everywhere. She was in awful shape but was the absolute sweetest cat and clearly had the will to live as she endured so much but still had the best temperament and sweetest personality. It was pretty late and I tried getting her into emergency vets, but they were all so packed they stated she didn't qualify as an emergency so they couldn't see her but a few offered to put her down. I called a ton of vets and same thing they couldn't help a cat like that but suggested euthanasia... I knew one thing was for sure- unless i got her examined and she was deemed to have unknown injuries she couldn't live a good life with, I was not going to put this poor baby down. I finally found a vet that agreed to see her and do X-rays and get her comfortable with antibiotics and pain medicine (thank you Healthy Pets animal hospital in olympia) but the biggest challenge was finding a rescue for her because I knew being a stay at home mom, my heart was bigger than my pockets and I couldn't afford the care she needed. We kept her on the pain medicine and antibiotic regiment as I looked for a reputable rescue, and after a lot of nights wondering how I can get this poor little kitten help, I finally came across Shar who not only took her on into her rescue, but helped cover some of her outstanding vet bills I hadn't been able to cover myself yet. Once in Shars care, she made an appointment immediately to get her into surgery with the one surgeon I could find in the area who said she felt comfortable doing that surgery. Ultimately, Shar recognized the bond Honey Cat and I shared and I was able to adopt her. I spent as much time as I could visiting her during her recovery from surgery and grew close with Shar and Tim. They are so knowledgeable and good with the kitties and the cats are so friendly and socialized. They aren't kept in tiny cages which is my favorite thing there because you get a chance to interact with all of them. Eventually there were over 60 cats & kittens and things still ran smoothly. They were all as happy as could be, cared for, clean, well fed, and I could tell all of them knew that they were safe and loved. I really like how every room is designed for the various needs of the furry clients. There's processes & procedures against cross contamination, proper handwashing and I love that shoes aren't allowed; there's footies and slippers though. I could go on and on about this place but I will stop here. Just know that CCKC is legit and saves & improves the lives of cats, kittens and the humans that get to adopt them.

Rainier Doodle Dogs - description…read moremismatch, neglect, bait-and-switch return policy I sought a low-maintenance mini Bernedoodle and found Mt. Rainier Doodle Dogs. They offered retiring breeder Charlotte (mother of two litters; third attempt failed) for $1,000 to cover her spay/final vet visit. They described her as very low-energy, preferring to lay in bed all day, uninterested in toys/play, happy just near her person. At home, Charlotte initially ignored toys/balls - no clue how to engage. It took months of consistent work (including paid professional training for me, despite my disabilities) to teach her ball-chasing, retrieving, hurdles, and weaves. She now loves high-energy play and running anytime - opposite of described, more than I bargained for given my limitations. When foot pain worsened severely (walks painful), I raised return for her welfare. They'd repeatedly said "take her back anytime," but suddenly reversed: current proprietor said they couldn't anymore unless within next few days (puppies coming, can't handle). She then sicced the former owner (her mother) on me for a defensive/obnoxious call - vaguely blaming/guilting ("I'll drive up to pick her up because I love her"). Utterly rude and unprofessional. I've adored Charlotte from day one with total commitment to her welfare/happiness, so I kept her. Thrilled with Charlotte (always have been), but breeders neglected socialization/play (not abuse, laissez-faire breeding), charged me for spay after ~$50-60K profit, and reneged on return promise. Their responsibility should include spaying retirees. Demand proof of energy/training history and firm return terms. Won't adopt from them again. Don't get me wrong. Charlotte is totally charming and adorable and such a good girl....but i had to work really hard to engage her in enrichment activities, which had been sorely neglected in her life with the breeder. So i know they loved her, but did not give her enough attention, since they were paying attention to their new puppies. I'm sure they do a fine job with puppies. But shouldn't they also care for their puppy moms? Also it appears unethical for them to charge me so much for a vet visit and spay, which should have been their responsibility.

My experience with Deborah has been very mixed. My dog is very well behaved with one exception -…read moreshe barks at the door. I scheduled a private session at my home with Deborah since this is the only place where my dog barks. She called ten minutes past our appointment time, asking if we were supposed to be meeting (we had scheduled this two days prior). Deborah and her trainees finally arrived, the training did go relatively well. My dog responded well to the techniques used, but I was very surprised that I was not involved in the training. I did not practice with my dog at all during the session. Also, the only thing my dog learned during the $150 session was to make eye contact when her name is called in order to earn a treat. A majority of the time was spent with Deborah and the two gentlemen she was training giving my dog treats in order to warm her up to them. In total the session was a little over an hour. While I was impressed that my dog stayed engaged for that long (usually during training she gets bored after about 20 minutes), I did not feel that the amount of improvement was worth $150. I emailed Deborah for advice the next day. My dog sleeps with me and was running to the front door to bark before I could command her to calm. This lead to a good amount of barking before I was able to get to her. It took two weeks to get a response and I was told that I was the problem and I needed to crate my dog at night. Crating is not an option because 1. I need my dog to sleep with me and 2. when we tried crating her originally she multiple times hurt herself trying to get out. The response was that I needed to spend more money on more training. I understand that one session can only do so much, but I really feel more could have been taught to me and that for the amount I paid there should be some more advice via email/phone to follow up.

This trainer was the best thing that had happened to our dogs!!! Here's the thing. We listened, tried everything they told us. They gave us bad advice, did not teach us how to work our dogs and put us and our dogs in a bad situation at the dog park. It gives me a terrible stomach ache just thinking about what we all went through with this place and all the money wasted. -Deborah talks the talk, but does not walk the walk -Does not have experienced training staff -Uses only harnesses -They did not teach us the tools to be successful on our own -Found ourselves asking what we're supposed to do when we weren't at lessons, even when we asked for answers -Told us to put our dog down and to give the other away -Deborah only cares about getting paid. Loki did not get his third private lesson that we paid for.. This office acknowledged the challenges and mentioned that there are things we can do together to help alleviate my dog's anxiety over time including how she is handled by staff which is more important than just jumping to the strongest drugs and ripping through an exam. In the dog world the Pet Doctor is considered one of the best reproductive vets you can see and one of the only to offer an ovary sparing spay so across the board I feel like I am in good hands at this vet for a spay and ongoing care.

Dr. Fujie was exceptional: knowledgeable, compassionate, and always took the time to explain what was happening and what our options were. When you have a dog who is more than a pet, he's your companion, your shadow, your best friend, that kind of care means everything. Then things changed. My dog is 13 years young. I brought him in for vaccinations and a wellness checkup, where Dr. Romman heard a heart murmur and recommended an X-ray. The results showed an enlarged heart, later confirmed by a radiologist to include tumors on his heart and thyroid. When those results came back, I called to speak with Dr. Romman -- not only to understand what we were facing, but to ask something as simple as whether it was safe to board him while we traveled. I never got that call back. What I received was a call to schedule an EKG. When we returned from our trip, I called again. And again, the following week. My wife finally did hear from Dr. Romman. When my wife let me know what was shared, I asked if they would do anything because of his age or how much time he has left. I called back to have a conversation and when I did get a call from Dr Romman, she spent more time explaining they had tried to reach me than talking about my dog's care. We were eventually referred to an oncologist at Blue Pearl, where we learned that surgery and chemo were not options at his age. We were told to enjoy the time we had left with him. Today, I called because my boy's stomach had become severely bloated and he was gagging more than before. He had lost weight because he was not eating and by switching to canned food, he got his appetite back. I got an appointment to be seen that afternoon, only to receive a callback minutes later with a staff member relaying that Dr. Romman wanted to know "what I wanted to accomplish from the visit." I stated he has a bloated stomach and what I read online, it could be serious like a twisted stomach and my goal was to hopefully address this health issue. She replied that I needed to see a specialist and they were a general practice clinic and do not have the specialized equipment to treat my dog. The Pet Dr. website says 'Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical and dental services. Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house testing for accurate diagnosis, digital x-ray, surgical suite, dental suite and a pharmacy. I asked if he did not have tumors and we just called for a bloated stomach would he be seen or sent to a specialist. She said to a specialist. She told me Dr. Romman would see us if we wanted palliative care. I am trying to keep our best friend comfortable and happy for whatever time he has left and not just put him down. This is a dog who has been a patient here for nearly a decade. He is not a case number, he is family. He deserved better. We deserved better. If you are navigating a serious diagnosis with a senior pet and simply need a compassionate vet in your corner, please consider whether this practice will show up for you when it truly matters. We ended up going to the other vet. Find out that $800 more for nothing - that the radiology report was not read correct correctly by the vet. Even the radiologist confirmed that it was food. The manager did not reach out to me about this at all. Nor Did she have staff check on my dog. They charged me a large amount of money here, and continually their front desk was beyond rude not to mention, not helpful. Never involving higher leadership or other staff to navigate complex issues. And overall a general, extreme unprofessionalism. I do not recommend this place. They are terrible people and treat clients poorly. They did not even give my dog fluids prior to her transferring despite her having a large amount of blood loss. They did absolutely nothing and cost me an arm and a leg. I don't know what happened to this place as initially it was great. But whatever change there -was avoid them. They also don't keep their patient waiting room clean. It is disgusting.-*****Also put personal opinions of clients on medical documentation without consent written to transfer said document. Front desk staff are not legally authorized to document in a medical chart of patients.
