Highly do not recommend HCW Construction LLC. We signed a contract in June for work to be done…read morewithin 15 days, with the builders assumption a permit was not needed. Builder discovered a permit was needed after initial work of digging 2 holes under deck were started, in addition to the fact the holes were put in areas never agreed upon in our contract or discussed with us prior to digging. HCW stated because they agreed to a price $500 less than the original amount quoted they would only send 1 worker to do the job and then started making excuses that we chose the cheap but hard way to do the job, even though it was heavily discussed prior to signing the contract with no mention of getting only 1 worker and this being the "harder option". A permit was then submitted to our local township and once approved the company began to ghost us, in addition to never paying for the permit. First they went on vacation the week the permit was approved, then their whole crew "quit" because they left them with no work while on vacation. Next they stated they had other jobs to complete prior to our job, even though they claimed they had no work and their employees all quit due to this. Next, they stated they would start work within 2 weeks, then slowly stopped responding to any and all request for an update of when they would start working. This company took our deposit of $3250 and never completed work that was agreed upon, ignored any and all accountability regarding the work we signed an agreement on. They are committing fraud and are a very untrustworthy company. Don't let them try to fool you and take your money, they have made it clear to us in prior contact that they would be closing their company and would not be refunding us our deposit.

The craftsmanship is beyond compare and the eye for detail is extremely acute. I'm already scheduling with @Multi-Craft for more projects.

The crew showed up on time all 4 days of the job and worked very long hours to get the job done on time. Scott was very receptive and available for questions and concerns we had during the project. When landscape issues came up due to the depth of digging for the windows, Scott went out of his way to work with his subcontractor doing the excavation and us to come up with a solution within our budget, that was also completed during the project. The end result is exactly what we asked for, and I feel confident that my kids can safely sleep in basement bedroom now that they have easy exits in case of a fire. Nate acted as general contractor for my wife and I for a 3 month renovation of our kitchen in late…read more2024. He handled the vast majority of work for the project: demolition, subcontracting and scheduling for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, floors, and countertops, installation of cabinets, finish carpentry. My wife and I were responsible for layout, providing cabinets, and answering Nate's questions along the way. Nate has a great eye for detail and genuinely made us feel cared for throughout the project. It's hard to communicate just how much trust you put in a GC for this type of renovation: he was in our house most days for three months with our two kids, making decisions that we don't have the expertise to evaluate and that are often going to get covered up with drywall. Based on Nate's own comments and the praise from inspectors who passed through, you could tell Nate was a good one. Our house's layout allowed us to live in our house (although not our kitchen) for the duration of the remodel and Nate did an admirable job of keeping the dust out of the lived-in space. Nate kept an immaculate job site and you can tell that he takes immense pride in the work that he does. Communication-wise, he always kept us in the loop and made an extra effort to stay in touch on days when we happened not to see each other. His cost estimates for the renovation were accurate and his price was more than fair given the quality of his work. When unexpected situations arose (as they inevitably do in renovations of a 120 year old house), he took responsibility for finding a path forward. His carpentry skills are top-notch and he has a great relationship with other high-quality subs in the area that he can bring in for things like electrical and plumbing work. At one point, he even brought in another highly-skilled finish carpenter where he thought it could shave a day or two off of the project's timeline. The project did ultimately take a few weeks longer than expected (mostly due to difficulties scheduling inspections and subs), but Nate made every effort to mitigate those delays as much as possible. My wife and I are thrilled with how the kitchen turned out and would hire Nate again in a heartbeat.

Nate completed extensive carpentry work, including building closets, replacing and upgrading doors, constructing shelving, and repairing exterior wood on our three-story home. He also coordinated painting and electrical work with the same care and craftsmanship. What stands out most is Nate's honesty, reliability, and strong communication. He kept me updated throughout the process, is higly experienced, can easily pivot when the unexpected occurs (as it always does with renovations), and earned myfull trust. His excellent relationships with other skilled subcontractors made the entire process smooth and efficient. I will definitely continue to hire Nate for future projects and trust his recommendations without hesitation. I would highly recommend Nate Construction to anyone looking for high-quality, professional, and trustworthy work.
