I hired Corey Pilaczynski the owner of the All Weather Trees to cut a number of trees in our property. He and his crews were very professional and respectful. I got two bids for the work each came to $2000. A friend of ours was at our house and he suggested that he knows Corey and highly recommended that I hire him. I called him and he promptly stopped by to give me an estimate. I showed him all the trees that I wanted to cut and we agreed on $1700 (I noticed that he had some hesitation but we shook hand on it). I then received an official estimate for $1716 but not all the work clearly written in the estimate. I send him a message that there are more trees that need to be cut (these were mainly pine trees) and cutting a few large branches on the maple tree in front of our house is also missing from his estimate. Unfortunately, I told him that as long as he does all the work that we talked about then we don't need to put it in writing as he came highly recommended to us.
He and his crew showed up early morning on Saturday. After doing about an hour of work in front of the house, he moved to the backyard. I noticed that a few of dead pines in front of the house were not cut. I reminded him that he was supposed to cut all the dead pines in front of the house. He mentioned that he did not included them in his estimate, even though, I clearly communicated to him that all the dead pine trees in the front of the house need to be cut when he came to give me an estimate. I then offered him extra $100 and he agreed that he would cut those dead pine trees (2 or 3 of them). After an hour of work, he stopped saying that he cannot finish the work for $1800 and I need to pay him more and he said that he would be happy with $2000. Given that this was the bid that I got from the two other companies, I agreed on it as I wanted the work to be done.
Mid afternoon, he mentioned that they are done for the day and he would come back on Tuesday to finish the work, about 20% of the work remained. I then asked him if he can cut a small maple tree when he comes back and we agreed that he would cut it for $200. He then wanted me to pay him which unfortunately I did pay him $1800. Tuesday came and passed, and he did not show up. I sent him a few texts and whether he does not respond to my texts or set a date and does not show up. Baiting and switching and not showing up for a month to complete the work after I paid him were very unprofessional. Unfortunately, they also damaged our driveway. I am filing a complaint with BBB against the company to rectify the situation. read more
