I did a bit of quick math on the mulch and sent me a text shortly after with the rate for the labor and the materials. I found it to be incredibly reasonable so we decided to move forward with the job. They are booked pretty heavily so it took a couple of weeks for our appointment but they showed up and worked efficiently to finish the job neatly and thoroughly. Our garden looks amazing and they did a great job pulling all those pesky weeds in our rock beds that had been causing me grief (and back pain!) over the spring and summer. I'm so happy with how it all looks. I can't stop marveling at our very cute yard now! And my plants seem way happier now that we've got the mulch around them as well. We let them know that we needed the driveway done and cured before that date so we could use a wheelchair on it . They were here the next day to take out the old concrete and prepare it for the new. These guys really knew their stuff and they worked long and hard and did an absolutely stellar job. Communication with Michigan Rose Construction was great. They were always available to answer questions and we enjoyed interacting with the men who were doing the work. We would hire them again for any construction project without hesitation.

I strongly advise potential customers to stay far away from Great Outdoors…read more Great Outdoors failed to complete the contracted scope of fall cleanup at our home, yet attempted to charge an arbitrarily high price for extremely limited and poor-quality work. Large portions of the agreed-upon cleanup were not performed at all. More concerning, the company later claimed credit for work that I personally completed myself, such as clearing one of our garden beds. They continue to assert that services were performed that demonstrably were not. Despite the minimal work completed, Great Outdoors is attempting to charge nearly $400 for what amounted to cutting back several hydrangea bushes--not even proper pruning--and little else. This charge is wildly disproportionate to the work actually done and was justified after the fact with unsupported labor claims. In addition to inaccurate and deceptive billing practices, communication was inconsistent, responses were delayed or evasive, and scheduling services was difficult throughout the process. Based on my experience, Great Outdoors' billing practices lack transparency, and their representations about work performed cannot be relied upon. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking honest, professional landscaping services.

He installed two stairways of huge stone slabs. The cascading locally- mined slabs convey an artistry and aesthetic consideration that is greatly appreciated. The multi-tiered retaining walls have broad natural curves and were built with care. It was a big job. I suspect it took a little longer than Chris expected. He finished up well. Chris and his skilled crew adapted to the changing scope of the project. The add-ons to accommodate the expanding complexity of the project, along with some much needed stump removals on the rest of the property, were done well and were fairly priced. Chris was attentive to our suggestions and needs. Definitely money well spent. He's a good man. He's got integrity and he's good with communication. He's respectful of his crew. They work well together. We will certainly hire him for projects in the future.
