We had a great experience working with A2 Painting Company. Aaron was great to work with, very responsive and always upfront with me. They were flexible to my changing needs and took care of literally everything (prep, repairs, buying the paint, cleanup, etc!). They completed the job in the number of days projected and by the deadline that we had to move into our house. Aaron even came back over a week after we moved in to touch up some spots that were damaged in our move (not their fault). I would definitely recommend A2 Painting to anyone I know and use them again if given the opportunity!

old kitchen- brown cabinets and avocado green walls

Earlier this year I contacted Aaron for his opinion on how best to take the doom and gloom (and very outdated) kitchen of our home we recently purchased. All I needed it turns out was 'paint' on my quality cabinets and new appliances. He and his crew ably removed everything, set up a 'paint room' in my basement and worked meticulously, delivering a kitchen I absolutely love! I've already contacted A2 for a return job -- awesome group of hardworking folks.

Had my floors recently changed out in my condo. Lowe's and the Carpet Guys both declined to do the job because old tile ran beneath the cabinets. Brian (floor guy) is kind of a flooring nerd which was exactly what I needed and made me really comfortable that he would do the job well and right! Because the flooring was going into almost the entire space and because my condo is small, moving the furniture and working around everything was a logistical challenge. Brian was very kind and thoughtful about keeping the upheaval of my life to a minimum. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the owner forgot to order my flooring which set back the project for a bit (6 Days turned into a month when all was said and done) and I had to live in the demo for a weekend. Otherwise everything was great and I would absolutely recommend the company. And especially Brian for the floors!

Communication was on point!…read more I was super happy I didn't need to purchase any new materials - since my backing was pushing in he was able to reuse the existing tile without cracking either. My biggest fear was if mold was behind the tile - he was confident it wasn't. But of course I asked if it was and he did give me a price like I asked so I would be prepared. The work took 2 days due to drying time and he was able to work with my weird schedule as well. Definitely will use company in the future. Side note - the owner came each day to review the workers progress and the work; provided all the update information. Happy home improvement!!!

Ann Arbor Hardwoods - After floor-refinishing. "Red Mahogany" stain color.

Ann Arbor Hardwoods

(10 reviews)

Five stars. Superb…read more We had a couple of estimates for our floor. Michael, Ann Arbor Hardwoods' owner, was by far the most competent and professional. Pricing was competitive, too. It wasn't the lowest price, but the range was less than you might have thought. During a kitchen remodel, we wanted to re-do the floor as well. It had had 25 years of hard use and abuse, and it was showing its age. Michael walked us through the process, gave us the various options (stain or no stain, for example), all without pressure. He obviously knows what he's doing and his experience with hardwood floors shows. When it came time for the actual refinishing, the crew were prompt, courteous, professional and exceptionally tidy. Sanding floors produces sawdust (surprise!), but the vacuums used during the process kept the sawdust to a minimum. I covered the television downstairs with a plastic sheet (I recommend that), but that was about it. We had no dust upstairs. We had some repair work done at the same time. It was immaculate. You couldn't tell there had been repairs in the water-damaged area by the dishwasher or in front of the closet where the door frame had been replaced. We opted for no stain. That's a personal preference and a bit of a gamble since the wood color is unknown until the old stain comes off. Good choice. The wood looked great after the sanding and the 3 coats of sealant really brought it to life. NOTE: Plan a little time into the schedule to leave the floor sealant to dry properly. A week or so should be enough. You probably don't want to drag a dishwasher over the floor the day afterwards, like we had planned to do (but didn't). After the sealant had dried, the crew replaced the quarter-round edging around the entire area. No problems, no damage and it all looked great. I highly recommend Ann Arbor Hardwoods.
