I hesitated to do this since businesses are hurting during COVID but I don't want home owners to get fooled like I have. I've attempted to get a hold of Aaron 3 times to finish the work as he promised but no response. Notice most of the good reviews are old from when Aaron had a partner. Here are some pictures of his work. The negative review below called him snarky and I didn't understand it at first but now I do. He'll never own up to anything. It's never his fault no matter how poor of a job he does. Charged me $75/hr for flooring only to show up and see his painter doing the flooring. Unbelievably squeaky floors. I can hear them from downstairs. When I told him the floors are squeaky, he told me the house was old. I wish I could upload a video that shows the noise. read more

A2 Painters were great! Our home was due for a repaint (and we wanted to change up the colors), so we had a few different painting contractors come out for a quote. Aaron at A2 walked around the house and told us about their thorough process, and followed up with a very reasonable and very competitive quote. It took a little while to actually get the process going, but solely due to (very) hot weather and rain. We were 100% OK with this, because we wouldn't want to be painting outside in 90+ degree weather either! Soon enough though his crew showed up and got to work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and in just ~4 business days they were all done. For reference, we had A2 paint: entire house body (ranch, ~1100 sqft), foundation, all trim and all gutters from black to white, and entire garage (almost 4 car) and trim. The painters were also very knowledgeable in regards to what will look good and what won't. We were surprised that there were a few details we just never thought of (for example, the trim on our newer windows poked out from the house, and the painters strongly recommended that we paint the sides of the trim to match the house), and the painters had the experience to say "we think you should paint this piece body color, and this other piece trim color" - and it worked perfectly! When the painters were finished on the last day, they walked us around and did a thorough review of the house, which was really nice. We did find one or two very minor issues, which they promptly apologized for and fixed. Then they cleaned up and left the place as clean as it was when they arrived. Overall we are very happy with our new house colors, and the entire process with A2 Painters! Next time we need painting, we will be sure to go back to Aaron and A2. read more

My wife and I had recently purchased a home and basically the entire interior needed to be painted. We were excited to find a company with good reviews, and that also offered flooring services (we needed our floors completely ripped out and replaced with hardwood on the main level). The guys did great work, but the project management here was terrible. We contracted this company to paint and re-do the floors in our house starting in December and they did not finish before we moved in February. We ultimately had to use a different company to complete the flooring project as they were very behind on other projects. What's worse, Aaron had a pretty bad attitude when we asked why our project was moving so slowly (I really can't wait to hear his snarky reply to this review :) ), and why he and his partner were not good at communicating the ever-changing deadlines. They are great painters, but if your project has a tight deadline I would look elsewhere. read more

Aaron responded right away to my somewhat urgent request for help finishing our nursery. We had started the project ourselves but gave up halfway through after struggling to remove some old wallpaper that really didn't want to come off, resulting in damaged walls that we needed help repairing. With baby's due date looming, Aaron assured me that he and his team could finish the job within our timeline, and he did! Jeremy and Anthony were our crew and they were always prompt, did a fantastic job repairing and painting the walls and trim of our nursery, and were great communicators on their progress and next steps. Had my floors recently changed out in my condo. Lowe's and the Carpet Guys both declined to do the job because old tile ran beneath the cabinets. Brian (floor guy) is kind of a flooring nerd which was exactly what I needed and made me really comfortable that he would do the job well and right! Because the flooring was going into almost the entire space and because my condo is small, moving the furniture and working around everything was a logistical challenge. Brian was very kind and thoughtful about keeping the upheaval of my life to a minimum. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the owner forgot to order my flooring which set back the project for a bit (6 Days turned into a month when all was said and done) and I had to live in the demo for a weekend. Otherwise everything was great and I would absolutely recommend the company. And especially Brian for the floors! read more

We just moved into an 80 year old home in Grosse Pointe and were completely unequipped to deal with the work that was needed. So far, we've worked with three people at A2 and each was very professional, prompt and thorough. First, they removed a huge mirror that was glued to the plaster wall above our fireplace, repaired the plaster, painted the wall, and mounted a TV. Second, they refinished some hardwood floors that were hiding beneath old carpet. The floors weren't in great condition though you would never know it now - they look great and match the rest of the hardwood floors in our house perfectly. We have a laundry list of other things that need to be done and I haven't found anything yet that they won't do, so look forward to working with them again! read more

A2 painting did an absolutely terrific job painting my kitchen cabinets. Aaron was very quick with a reasonable estimate (compared to the others I got), and was ready to get started as soon as I was. He discussed the details of how he planned to do the job, and worked with me to adjust the plan in specific ways that I requested. They completed about half of the work while I was out of town. Aaron and team did a great job on our new home. We hired them to paint a majority of the house and did so because of their timing, pricing, and professionalism. Aaron was willing to negotiate on a price that we both found to be fair and gave us top notch service. The rooms that they painted all look amazing, and they made sure all trim, wall repairs, and necessary caulking were done for each room. Additionally, he gave me his word that if I noticed anything was not completed, no matter when I noticed it, he would come back and complete a touch up if necessary. That's what I call high quality customer service that you simply don't see much these days. To me, one of the greatest things about Aaron and his team is that they were very trustworthy and personable individuals. It can definitely be difficult to trust a team that you just met with access to your house. I felt comfortable allowing them to come and go as they worked to get the job done knowing that they would be responsible and take care of the home without my supervision. Having this sense of relief knowing that my home was in good hands helped to make the job less stressful. While they did fall behind the original schedule he had promised me due to some unpredictable circumstances, he did what they needed to do to make up for it and finished a day later than originally promised. I also noticed a few paint drips on our brick mantle, but aside from that the attention to detail throughout the house was on point. As far as other negatives, you really would be nitpicking to find any others. I would definitely recommend Aaron and his team for any painting job you need help with. Update: EXTERIOR OF OUR WHOLE HOUSE Had the crew back to do the exterior of my two story house that had not been painted in 25 years. It now looks like a new house, fits into the other houses that surround ours. The crew, as before, attended to every detail and concern. They were so great that I was moved to post my first ever review. The room presented multiple challenges. All of these were addressed and fixed by patching, sanding and caulking. The sanding was the worst of it but Jeremy and Jason minimized dust traveling to other rooms by some ninja type preparation. The crew was aware to the last detail. I am very picky about things being just right and have been disappointed in the past. But these guys including the owner Aaron exceeded all of my expectations. Clean up was very minimal and I found no stray paint. This company has a great philosophy and treats your home/job as an honor. They also do a crack job of customer service and it feels genuine. Aaron was awesome and the job he did went a long way toward helping me sell house after only one showing! He gave me a very reasonable estimate and was able to start the next day, knowing I was in a time crunch. He got the paint for me and, when he realized that it might not blend in perfectly with the existing trim, went back and had the color "dirtied" a bit. In another room, I simply needed some touching up, but ended up painting the whole room after Aaron said he wouldn't be able to make it look acceptable with touch ups, due to a slight variance in paint color (damn you, discontinued paint!). I really appreciated his honesty, as well as his extra time in getting a matching color and doing extra work. His work was fantastic and he honestly transformed the rooms he painted.
