Exceptional customer service from the start! Justin was very informative, educated us about the process and gave us an approximate quote based off our measurements right away. I came here because of the reviews and I am glad I did! I've had less than acceptable experiences working with various contractors and I wanted to work with someone who was timely, cost effective, great customer service and good quality. I expressed that to Justin and he was so understanding and assured me they are all those things. He was right! The next day Jorge came to my house to take measurements. He was very polite and knowledgeable about granite and overall experience. They say it takes two weeks from the date they receive the slab order you pick out. That is indeed true. I had a very specific granite vision of what I wanted. I went to a few suppliers and found the one I wanted. However, when it came in, the slab was cracked and MGE did not want me to be disappointed as they genuinely cared about the finished product and quality. We sent it back. Then, Kleopatra called me and offered to come with me to the suppliers to help me look at the granite and inspect it herself. I was so relieved and was blown away with how she went above and beyond to keep me informed of everything and to ensure I chose the granite we would be satisfied with long term. We ended up picking Avalon White from MSI. She inspected it and showed me which part of the slab they would use. I was reassured and so excited! Their prices are competitive and cost effective for their customers. The install team was outstanding. Our home is a historical home built in 1884, so the ground isn't as leveled. They stayed for 6 hours reconfiguring until it was perfect. They wanted to ensure it looked pristine and they do!! We love them and would highly recommend MGE to anyone. The installers were knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. We appreciated being able to support a small local business, whose inventory surpasses the big box stores. Best Granite and Marble, Livonia provided horrible quality and customer service! they installed my dark countertop with white sealant which amplifies the poor fit between the backsplash to the countertop. this is the first thing that everyone comments on when they see it. also, when they cut out the holes for electrical outlets in the backsplash, they were short by about an 1/8th of an inch making it impossible to screw in both screws so the outlet cover so it won't fit on it properly. they want to charge me $150 to come back out and correct their mistake. I DO NOT recommend this company. BE CAREFUL if you hired them! BE Sure to inspect every aspect of the job. if you aren't happy, make them fix right then and there, before they leave! they are not customer friendly and do not stand behind their service. Dealing with DidI was a nightmare! she is rude and very difficult to deal with. this company has very poor customer service.

Five stars. Superb…read more We had a couple of estimates for our floor. Michael, Ann Arbor Hardwoods' owner, was by far the most competent and professional. Pricing was competitive, too. It wasn't the lowest price, but the range was less than you might have thought. During a kitchen remodel, we wanted to re-do the floor as well. It had had 25 years of hard use and abuse, and it was showing its age. Michael walked us through the process, gave us the various options (stain or no stain, for example), all without pressure. He obviously knows what he's doing and his experience with hardwood floors shows. When it came time for the actual refinishing, the crew were prompt, courteous, professional and exceptionally tidy. Sanding floors produces sawdust (surprise!), but the vacuums used during the process kept the sawdust to a minimum. I covered the television downstairs with a plastic sheet (I recommend that), but that was about it. We had no dust upstairs. We had some repair work done at the same time. It was immaculate. You couldn't tell there had been repairs in the water-damaged area by the dishwasher or in front of the closet where the door frame had been replaced. We opted for no stain. That's a personal preference and a bit of a gamble since the wood color is unknown until the old stain comes off. Good choice. The wood looked great after the sanding and the 3 coats of sealant really brought it to life. NOTE: Plan a little time into the schedule to leave the floor sealant to dry properly. A week or so should be enough. You probably don't want to drag a dishwasher over the floor the day afterwards, like we had planned to do (but didn't). After the sealant had dried, the crew replaced the quarter-round edging around the entire area. No problems, no damage and it all looked great. I highly recommend Ann Arbor Hardwoods.

My wife and I wanted new laminate kitchen counters. We had been given some contacts for countertops…read morebut all of them only dealt in stone. On the third call I asked if anyone still made/installed laminate countertops and was given the phone number for The Kitchen Top Shop. We called and drove down to their showroom on 8 Mile Rd that afternoon. Long story short- a family owned business with the second generation taking over. An enormous selection of laminates from the two industry leaders, Formica and Wilsonart. We worked with John for both sales and installation. John was just great to work with! The countertops were part of a series of upgrades we were doing in our home and we wanted them to go well with new flooring and paint. John showed us an undermount sink by Karran, which we didn't even know was possible with laminate. We did a couple of other tweaks to our original project and still thought the pricing was very good. (We recommend spending the extra money for the decorative edging!) It took us a while to choose a laminate pattern, but once we did John got the materials ordered and had everything ready to install just two weeks after we provided the pattern information. The installation went extremely well! John brought along Mitchell as his helper. The two of them had the plumbing disconnected and our old countertops removed in short order. The final trimming and customization of the countertops was done on site to ensure that all the pieces fit perfectly and the faucet and electrical outlets went exactly where we wanted them. The project included the installation of a new garbage disposal, and John cleaned up the plumbing layout under the sink to allow for better access and more room. Mitchell is a wizard with the caulking gun, and cleanup was very thorough. The finished product is nothing short of spectacular. The new countertops have really transformed our kitchen. One of our neighbors came over and was certain we had gotten real stone put in. Everything looks great and is working perfectly. Good pricing, great craftsmanship, and super nice people to work with.
