If I still owned a house and could plant lots of flower beds or pots, I would enjoyed coming here for the prices and selection. They had wagons but when it is a busy time, you might have to wait for one. But I now live in an apartment that limits me to 2 pots or planters on the patio and 3 smaller pots by front door. I did find some plants but they didn't have a selection of pots to plant in. So if you have a house, this is a good choice, but if you live in an apartment and only need a few plants or pots, stay with full service greenhouses. I am still glad I came out.

Now that I have my own place, it's convenient to have the Plymouth location. Each location has slightly different stuff so it's cool to check out both places for plants and ideas and Christmas trees!!! EG is the ONLY place I go for Christmas trees. The variety in species and size and quality is the best here. So much so, that for the last +20 years, my best friend and I go together to buy our trees. We make an afternoon of it. Walk around to check out trees, then walk through the store at all the accessories and decorations. Each year we always buy one new ornament. It's such a special tradition and I love that it's English Garden that we do it with.

They…read morehave an excellent selection, quality plant material, and their staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful. It's worth pointing out that Christensen's is a wholesale nursery that serves landscape professionals and the trade. They are not a retail garden center open to the general public. Giving a business a negative review because they follow their wholesale sales requirements is unfair and doesn't reflect the quality of their products or service. As a landscape contractor who actually does business with Christensen's, we've always been treated well, and they continue to be one of our go-to suppliers. Highly recommend them to professionals in the landscape industry.

Overall, it was an excellent event and Douglas clearly knows what he is talking about from his 40+ years of experience! The inside of the building has items from various garden related vendors (except for one - I will get to that one in a minute): fairy garden items, bird houses, yard decorations, etc. They also have food items from several Amish bakeries and oh my, the hand pies are excellent! Thankfully for my waistline I only had a bite of my husband's apple hand pie after we left or I would have gone back in and one of every flavor. Where Salem Gardens stands out is their dedication to plants that are unique. Yes, you will find marigolds (standard for all gardens for pest control) but they have an amazing assortment of other plants that are truly different. Check out my pictures for the yellow green hostas! Wow!

They built it by hand, and crafted it to be an incredible community space. They host fun community events like glass cutting and fairy basket making classes. The prices are incredibly reasonable. We've worked with them twice, once when we planned and purchased materials for a paver patio…read moreproject, then again ten years later when we needed some upkeep and paver leveling done. Our first purchase with them went well and they were helpful with material estimates and planning. As for our second experience with them, it appears they were in a hurry to get the job done and the quality of their work fell short of our expectations. After calling them several times and explaining the issues with their work, we could never get them to come back out to address the problems. We were disappointed in the lack of customer service and the results of the work they did. It has taken an additional six hours of work to correct their mistakes. (Wrong color pavers used, failure to complete the job, use of substandard material, failure to follow up, etc.) I would not recommend them for paver work.

Someone asked if we needed help but she was not able to find the flowers we're looking for. We walked around for awhile and finally found what we needed on our own. The flowers are beautiful but much higher priced than other places in the area. We bought what we wanted because we were already there and wanted to get flowers planted over the weekend. The staff didn't seem excited to help us but there was a large selection of flowers, plants, and outdoor decorations. Prices are pretty high but they had what we needed so we ended up purchasing it there. Overall- My visit was ok and I might return but I might check out other local places before I make a large purchase here.

They also implied that putting more workers on a task would increase the price without taking into account any increased efficiencies. It felt like they pulled the number out of a black box and expected me to just accept it. Huge red flags.
