We've used their tree service for +15 years. They help maintain trees, fertilize, new tree plantings and installed a cable system in our giant white maple tree to keep it safe, add strength and help add years to its life. The employees are so knowledgeable and their goals are for tree health, not cut down and remove. Although if there is a situation of a very unhealthy tree, the first step is discussing a plan on how to make it better. Removal is last resort, so when that is needed - they are professional, safe and clean. They provide info on native species to replace any tree if they were removed or if you want to add more trees. Always check with your city BEFORE removing trees, you usually need a permit and if you know ignore this rule and are caught later - the fines are HUGE. (This didn't happen to me, I have read this directly from my townships website.) read more

So helpful! I had been searching for a company to remove a tree from my moms backyard. It was winter and not a lot of companies were working, some weren't even taking calls. But Guardian replied to my inquiry right away, giving me a fair price and also advice on an additional tree that we didn't realize was dying. So for the less than a couple of the other quotes for 1 tree they removed 2 dying trees and helped make mom's yard much better. Because the weather was not cooperating they couldn't grind the stump, they promised to come back and then the Covid stay at home order fell upon Michigan. But they have been nice enough to help us arrange for the stump grinding to be done when the order is lifted, working with us to accommodate the fact that the home will be owned by someone else by that time. Guardian Tree Experts just finished up three days of trimming and felling five large trees here at the farm following ice storms earlier this year. One of the felled trees was an Elm that was at least 70' and located over our house and fenced dog run. I cannot speak highly enough of the work they have done, their safety protocols, the care they took to ensure no damage to the house and other buildings and the clean-up each day, along with the fact that each of the two teams that came over clearly love what they do and have been incredibly nice to spend time with. We hired them for June 2023 in Ypsilanti. I love the work they did to trim the trees. They have lower estimates than others. They sent a team that I could talk to. They cut back trees; we reviewed; then trimmed more as needed from those trees. They took down a tree without damaging neighbor's house next to the tree. We are so happy that we hired Guardian to work on out trees. I didn't realize how knowledgeable a person I'd be dealing with. They really know their stuff. The lead climber's explanations helped me understand the approach. We had him remove some big limbs on our Walnut tree that were beginning to encroach on one of our out-buildings. They did a full prune on three of our big walnut trees. The following summer the trees were so vital and bursting with life, it was glorious. Our trees have been revitalized! I had a great feeling about their service from my very first phone call to schedule an appointment. This being my first time having trees that needed trimming or removal, I only knew I wanted an arborist out to evaluate and do the planning. Tim has been extremely easy to work with from start to finish, very communicative and straightforward about the whole process, and had my quote done within a few days. We were able to schedule easily and any issues the crew came across were handled promptly. The trimming and removal of a couple trees happened one day, and the stump grinder was sent out on a separate visit. Both times they left ZERO evidence they'd even been there...other than my much better, healthier looking trees. I've been super impressed and will 100% use the company again in the future. read more

They are reliable as far as giving estimates and arriving when they say they will. But, you will only be able to talk to "your arborist". The people who do the cutting are different than the arborist you talk to. The pruners come and go without knocking or calling to let you know they are there and they will probably be done before you even know they are there. If what was written down as their instructions by "your arborist" was not exactly what you wanted, that is what you will get. Oh and "your arborist" will not be on site when the actual pruning is done. Also, they seem to just extend work orders for tree maintenance for pesticides from one year to the next without re-evaluating your need. I've been paying for mitocide for years and guess what? When they actually checked, no evidence of mites! Gee. read more

The trees got cut down but we were left with a tore up front lawn and flower bed from the equipment they used. When my husband called to ask what happened the guy said he would look at the lawn and get back to us. Guess what? He never called back. My husband had to keep calling. A month or so later they said they could come out and reseed the lawn or give us a discount. We said we would rather have a discount than wait another month for them to reseed. He had to get back to us on the amount. Guess what??? He never called back. My husband called and emailed again. We got an invoice with $100 discounted. $100 won't even cover the plants they killed let alone the time to reseed the lawn. Or my two months of aggravation as we waited for them to rectify the mistake they made. read more

I needed serious pruning done on a large locust tree in my yard. I'd used another tree service before, but I wasn't thrilled with either their work or their prices, so I asked for on-site estimates from three services. Guardian was my choice, because Brian was clearly so knowledgeable, and he was actually interested in another issue I was having with a smaller tree. Guardian's prices were reasonable too. The crew came yesterday, and I could not have been more pleased. It was the end of the day, but the two certified arborists who did the work were energetic, eager to talk about what they were doing and how and why, and clearly more than competent. When they left, you could not have told that any tree work had been done, despite the fact that they had removed two very large limbs from the locust, as well as a lot of smaller ones. We hired Guardian Tree Experts to remove 4 trees from our wooded property. Two trees were dead, one was nearly dead and the 4th was too close to our apple & pear trees. Previous to our hiring them, Kris came over to diagnose our nearly dead Scots pine (teeny beetles ate it from the inside out) & to give us an estimate. All of the Guardian employees are so knowledgeable, hardworking and efficient, even during pouring rain! Moses (the foreman) is very professional and a nice guy.
