We had a leak in our bath faucet that would not stop running and water was pooling on the bath edge . With it getting worse and an ice storm on the way, we knew we needed to get it addressed so they were able to come out same day only to discover that the builder had left no access point to the faucets so only way in was through the cupboard wall in front of the bath and the faucet was grouted or stuccoed in place!! The pieces needed to be replaced only there was little inventory anywhere - they found an almost identical set and made a dash out to get it before the store closed - and were able to get it all repaired. We also had a leak in our shower wall and they used a camera to assure us it was dry behind the shower and we had a small grout leak so at least that was one less project. Anthony and Josh were so nice, so helpful and so patient with our crazy bathroom set up! I highly recommend their work !!

About 20 years ago, we were waiting for a taxi to pick us up for a ride to the airport at the start…read moreof our vacation. Suddenly, water started running out of the garage. I turned the water off, flew off for our vacation, and while there, made long distance arrangements to have the water heater replaced on our return. Now, 20 years later, my wife came home and saw water all over the garage. I called a friend and asked about a plumber. She gave me the number for People's Choice. I called and spoke with Dave. Within an hour, he was at my house checking out the situation. He must have thought I was crazy when I told him I hadn't opened the door to the water heater since it was installed. We never had any issues- so why would I? Of course, I didn't know that it was leaking a bit in a few places and getting ready to die a soggy death. David told me it outlived it's life expectancy. The very next morning, David and his apprentice, Joshua, installed a brand new water heater. They did some work with the pipes and installed a water pan and pressure regulator to bring everything up to code. Even in my messy hoarders-like garage, it was obvious how well they cleaned up after the job. David took the time to carefully explain what I needed. He gave me an estimate and stuck to it when the job was done. He is a topnotch person and does quality work. I wholeheartedly recommend People's Choice for anyone with plumbing needs. Our experience could not have been any better. No photos. Garage is too messy for public viewing. Y'all know I'm lazy.

Also great support from dispatching/admin staff. Longer version: An elderly friend of the family was having issues with her toilet. After spending a Saturday trying to fix it, I realized the leak was getting worse and had to shut the water off and looked for an emergency/24 hr plumber to come in. We got a hold of A-1 first thing Sunday morning, who said they couldn't do Sunday (despite advertising 24/7 service) but that they'd be with us first thing Monday at 0830. Monday morning 0830 comes around, no plumbers. I eventually call and the dispatcher didn't have us on schedule but said they'd be with us that morning but couldn't give a time. After calling back after a few hours, the dispatcher informs me they can't come until late afternoon. At this point we're frustrated with the lack of communication and can't risk them not coming, so we begin to call around for other plumbers. My parents were able to reach Ott, who said they could come to Seguin that afternoon. The dispatcher maintained contact and updated both my mother by cell and myself who was at the home. They provided an ETA for the plumbers, as well as called us when they were leaving NB. Juan and Neddie arrived that afternoon and were able to fix the leak despite the non-standard water supply line. House was built in the 1930s and has a non-standard shut off valve which is partially held with cement. They managed to rig up a supply line between the old shut off valve and the toilet pump and the pricing was incredibly fair for the amount of time they spent. This was greatly appreciated since having to break the concrete and replace the shut off valve and piping would have been far pricier than our friend could afford, and would have forced her to leave her home during the process. Overall, we were incredibly happy with the service and highly recommend Juan and Neddie with Ott plumbing.

I recently had a toilet that would get clogged, then would have water run under my baseboards…read more Fearing the worst, I called a plumber. Not knowing any better, I called a competing pluming company, and long story short, they took advantage of me. The plumber took his sweet time, and did not use a good camera to diagnose my problem. He informed me I had a broken pipe under my foundation and quoted me over nine grand to fix it. He said to diagnose what was going on with the water under the baseboards would be extra. He also ripped us off for over $800 to clear the clog. He also walked back and forth loading and unloading the same tools milking the clock, and taking numerous calls from his boss, slowing him down. Looking for a second opinion, we consulted with friends and they recommended Swain Plumbing. Mike came over a few days after and gave us a proper diagnosis, and confirmed what the other plumber did. Mike cut a hole in the wall near the baseboards and found we had a cracked pipe on the downstairs bathroom that was tied into a pipe flowing downstairs. The water only leaked when the backup of the toilet disrupted the flow. Recent foundation work was more than likely the culprit of the cracked pipes. Mike gave us his professional opinion on how to fix it, and he gave us a much more honest quote than the first guy who ripped us off. He also only charges a flat fee to clean clogs. If I could give Mike 10 stars, I would. I cannot stress how satisfied I was with his professionalism and good work. Saved me almost half of what the other guy charged. Put me at ease as well. Highly recommend Mike for any plumbing need. Give him a shot. You will not be disappointed.

I had an incident recently where I needed someone to come look at something soon. My hot water heater was making loud noises and dumping water out the drainage pipe. Being a new homeowner I'd never experienced this before. I called him twice, and also texted. Didn't get a response until the next day, after I'd already scheduled service with another company. I called him around 6:15 pm, which I realize is after hours. I only mention this because maybe he's not the one to call in an emergency, or even a perceived emergency. (The issue ended up being my water pressure regulator.) But I'd absolutely recommend him if you need some planned work done.

I called them out for a running toilet downstairs, and the technician quoted me $380 for the repair (minor toilet rebuild) --which is more than the cost of a brand new toilet from Lowe's. A couple of months ago, they fixed a minor chain issue on my upstairs toilet for free (because they realized the issue was so minor), so I was shocked by this quote. The downstairs issue turned out to be just a seal, which is also a very minor fix. I declined the service and ended up doing the repair myself in about five minutes with an $8.99 part. I really only needed the technician to confirm what the issue was. I expected much more reasonable pricing and transparency for the reason of the pricing, and I hope they reconsider their pricing structure for loyal customers.
