TJ came out and provided detailed recommendations, suggestions, discussing two sizable remodeling and construction projects. Once we all agreed on the two part project criteria, payment terms, etc.. TJ to move forward with the proposals. No communications or updates received until we reached out to TJ approximately two weeks later. First proposal came one or two days after our call to TJ, first proposal was at least two times higher compared to two additional proposals received. Second proposal never received to date. Just got all the siding replaced on my home with TJs TJ and Jessica came to give me a quote and was open to discuss my options and gave different solutions since I was trying to get this done on a budget. The full detailed quote came in right when they promised and the price quoted was a lot better than I was getting with other contractors. I approved the quote on a Friday and they said they can get started Monday morning. Everyone was here bright and early at 8am and immediately got to work. Everyone that worked on my home was very polite, prompt and worked quickly. They cleaned up everything when they were done and the work looked great. TJ, Jessica and everyone with this company was great to work with and took great care of my home. We had a beam break in our garage! the floor was sagging almost 3". TJ and his crew were very skilled at shoring up the garage ceiling and replacing the beam. TJ was such professional that he recommended changing the other load bearing beam in the garage. thank goodness he did, because when we took down the dry wall the second beam was only on the stud less than an inch! they also poured an ADA compliant porch and sidewalk. the extra little flare made it turn out better than we expected. On April 20, right on schedule, TJ and Jessica showed up at my home to review various projects I was thinking about prior to listing my home for sale. Specifically, the vinyl siding on the west-facing sides of my house had melted and buckled and required replacement. Other projects which I considered undertaking to improve the value of the house for resale were: minor repairs to a fence which, while not perfect, had TWO boards which required reattachment; adjustments to the garage which was leaning to the east and needed leveling, plus installing a garage door opener (to be supplied by me); and, finally, various lengths of concrete driveway from full length (street to garage) to just a simple apron from the street 4 feet. I EMPHASIZED MULTIPLE TIMES THAT I WAS UNDERTAKING THESE IMPROVEMENTS IN ORDER TO SELL THE HOUSE AND MOVE, SO DOLLARS INVESTED WAS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE!!! Three weeks later on May 10, I received a text with the various projects identified, each with a single price. The Price quoted by TJ for VINYL siding replacement on two walls was 60% HIGHER than a comparable bid for JAMES HARDIE SIDING. 60%!!! The Garage Project of wind-bracing the 4 interior walls to level the structure seemed reasonable for just under $2,000. The Fence was priced at $4,000!!! The Driveway Concrete was $3,700 (Apron from street) to $15,000 (Street to garage)!!!!! The range for all projects was $17,500 to $28,800. On May 20, my heat pump required MAJOR unplanned investment. On June 4 Jessica returned my call of the previous day to TJ and I explained that I would like to START with the garage project while I refreshed my financial reserves from the heat pump incident. I also asked for the 10% discount for Senior Citizens mentioned in all TJ's websites. On June 5, Jessica texted to tell me the 10% discount WOULD NOT APPLY unless I was undertaking ALL the projects proposed because TJ said "he gave good pricing already on each individual " job. I immediately responded telling Jessica I was ready to sign and what were the next steps? She said she'd get back to me in 10 to 15 minutes..... Today, 6/6 at 5:20 I texted Jessica again, informing her that I had purchased a new garage door opener and could we please set a tentative date for work to begin? Jessica's response, just 40 minutes later: "Good afternoon Brett. Sorry about the long wait for a response I was trying to get with my boss to get a exact answer for you with that being said unfortunately We won't be able to do it for that price. That price was if it was with the bundle of all work getting done at the same time. The garage work would take approximately 2-3 days for completion labor, fuel, tool usage and materials would not cover the project at that price. If all work gets done in bundle package we can definitely accommodate to work with price and definitely make it worth it. It would be ANOTHER $1,200.00 and that's still a great price for work needed on garage." 47 days have passed and if I'm interested in TJ"S Remodeling and Construction undertaking this project, I either shell out $17,500.00 to $28,800.00 for EVERYTHING proposed OR increase the price for the Garage Project to $3,200.00 (a whopping 60% increase over TJ's original bid!!!!). I'm not sure if this qualifies as Bait and Switch, but I for one am EXTREMELY shocked and disappointed in the lack of professionalism of TJ's Remodeling and Construction. TJ was excellent to work with and I highly recommend. I got a re caulking repair for the siding on the house and replaced all the trim around the windows. He was very knowledgeable and informative on what materials to use for the job. He explained the benefits of using hardy plank over wood for the window trim since I had termite damage. Any broken pieces of siding, they fixed. He even made a few repairs on my house that were not in scope of the work. When the project was complete, TJ personally walked around the house for an inspection with me and I pointed out things that I wanted to be touched up or redone, and he had his team fix it right away. My back room got flooded and TJ was quick to come out, rip up the old floors and install new ones. They are a bit too expensive though.

After a leak developed in our shower we obtained a few bids and discovered the repair would cost several thousand dollars. We decided to remodel the entire master bath since we needed to demo the shower. We hired TJ's because the reviews on Yelp were good and he allowed for more customization than other companies. He was able to start the project right away. They worked Monday thru Saturday and completed the project in about 12-14 days. The quality of work was very good. The only reason we didn't give him a 5 star rating was due to overall pricing. To be fair, inflation is significant in Fall 2022, so not sure anyone else is cheaper or faster? read more
