The owners are absolutely wonderful people who clearly care about their customers and community. Not a great experience at this place. It was empty upon walking in. As I ordered the woman at the register could not understand what I was saying or asking it was my first time here. Not to mention the prices are outrageous. I made the mistake of starting out with the Hot and greatly regretting it. Even after smothering my food with lots of honey, it won't help. After a few tries, I figured out that I can only handle up to Medium spicy level. I liked both their chicken sandwiches and mac & cheese bowls. There is great "street" chicken wall art as well. It gives the location an "urban" vibe. Parking can be a bit difficult sometimes during lunch hour since it is part of a smaller shopping center that has other popular restaurants. I've been to three different Legend Hot Chicken restaurants and unfortunately the experience is pretty different at each one. Bell Gardens bar none was probably the worst but this one is definitely second. I literally stood in the empty restaurant for 5 minutes waiting for a cashier to appear and take my order which never happened. There was a cook in the bag who saw me walk in and we made eye contact and we could see through a little window that looks into the kitchen from the front counter. He didn't bother to greet me at all or acknowledge me being there with the exception of looking at me and was on his phone the entire 5 minutes that I stood there. I was really looking forward to a meal from here because I really like the franchise , however I was forced to go to a different restaurant on Carson Street which was 13 minutes away from this one. I was in the plaza visiting another business and stopped in for a bite. I got the salad and to my dismay, it wasn't good. Let me start off by saying that the chicken itself was delicious and I should have went with a different meal but the salad that it was on top of just didn't compliment it well. The salad was chicken, four pickles, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and dry lettuce. For a salad, I would expect some tomatoes, onions, and other ingredients but I got none of that. The dressing available was ranch and their spicy mayo so I just used that as a dip rather than drenching my salad. I initially was going to get medium spicy, but the cashier told us that medium spicy is *pretty spicy* so I decided to play it safe and get mild for both. Initially on arrival, the chicken did not look spicy AT ALL.
