We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. On her first solo visit with mom, she showed 30-40 min late, left 2 hours early, and was on her phone while she was with mother. She completed very few tasks on mothers list. Fortunately, Overture did not charge for the second visit, but we had no confidence in trying another employee as their employee screening process is obviously not as good as other home health companies.
