I was a guest at a wedding here over the weekend and did not stay in the resort. The location was easy to find, parking was easy and plentiful, and the grounds were beautiful. After entering the clubhouse, I wasn't sure where to go to be taken to the ceremony area. I found my way to the restaurant where I met up with other guests I knew and waited together until staff directed us outside. Once outside, there was a shuttle waiting to take us to the ceremony area. During the ride, I got a deeper appreciation of the surroundings. It was gorgeous and well-maintained. Also can't beat the killer views of South Mountain. The wedding and reception was A+. However, I could not rate it 5 stars. If one needed to use the restroom, you would have to go back to the restaurant in the clubhouse. This was about a 5 minute walk from where we were and there were some guests who were not able-bodied. Going that distance for them would be an issue to say the least and the shuttles weren't always readily available. The ladies' restroom in the restaurant did not smell good and was warm. I especially hate that combination and couldn't help but to feel gross after leaving. The staff were all pleasant, helpful, and made sure things moved along as it was time. The Legacy Resort can be best described as "Smoke & Mirrors." As you drive in seeing the water fountains and gorgeous greenery surrounding the golf course you will see villa style casasitas numbered. From the outside it looks like a gorgeous and beautiful resort, but once you stay here you'll realize this resort is outdated and in need of a make over from the inside. The pros of this resort is that you are close to numerous freeways to head to Gilbert, The South Mountain Park, and Downtown Phoenix. The resort is also close to a place called The Farm, which is a beautiful site to see, I will review that in another review. As for the resort stay our sliding glass door was broken to the outside, the television was a miniature flat screen with no access to Netflix and had 20 channels. The mini kitchen had outdated appliances and the ambiance was tacky. Now the bed was super comfortable! But... difficult to sleep because the room makes random noises, the a/c and heating unit are LOUD! If you're a heavy sleeper I mean you'll still here it, so we had difficulties sleeping here. As for the resort bar and grill in the player house my fiancé and I had their food and it was pretty nasty. You can tell the fish and chips we had were frozen fish where you can see the freezer burn on both the chicken tenders and the fish n chips. For a resort the food was nasty. Also when you check in they have you talk to concierge who basically make any attempt to hold you hostage to sell you a time share. I swear we said no like 30 times to the point we just were like "we are good.." we drove 6 hours to get to a resort that tries to sell you a timeshare at all costs. Also this resort advertises that you are "walking distance" to numerous locations, which was far from the truth. You'll have to drive to get decent food from this resort. I highly advise you bring some groceries for breakfast and lunch. We did eat at wonderful restaurants which I will also review. Parking here was simple, you can park anywhere next to your casasita number. Overall, $700 for 4 nights at a resort that is outdated, with limited food options, and does not have up to date technology in the room seems a bit much. Well, we never even got past registration. Flew in from Seattle anticipating some sun and a pool. Check in wasn't till 4 and granted we arrived at noon. We were hoping to leave our bags at the counter and hang out by the pool till check in. Sounds reasonable, right? Nope. The weather was hot. Our reception was ice cold. Sorry. No option. The suggestion was that we sit at their restaurant and wait or perhaps walk down the street and hang out at Walmart. Ya, that's what she suggested. I asked if all the guests had to "reserve" spots at the pool each day and she said yes. Ok, so I'm paying a ton of money to stay here but have to reserve a spot to sit by the pool? We suggested that they put that on their website, which it clearly isn't. So, we cancelled and went to Springhill. Cheaper and guess what, I just need a room key and We can sit by the pool. I'll eat the cancellation fee for the first night in exchange for the potential nightmare of the next two. Golf course looked nice. If first impressions tell the story, I don't want to read the rest of this one. We travel A LOT, and first impressions never lie, especially in the hospitality industry. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. We have one more night and I don't want to leave. The staff is friendly and the rooms are very nice. It's about the size of an apartment! Average size at least lol. It is tucked away in Scottsdale, but everything is within 5-20 mins away. I'll be back! read more

The worst customer service EVER. I booked with my son's team early. Realized I was going to need a longer stay (one day before and one day after). Called 2 weeks in advance to adjust. Front desk says, "nope, no single night reservations." No matter how I tried to explain just got 'nope.' She said front desk handles no bookings but I won't be able to adjust anyway/anyhow. Put me through to 'booking.' Guy was COMPLETELY unhelpful, couldn't seem to wrap his mind around someone wanting to adjust their travel dates. When he finally understood what I was asking for he stated that I would have to cancel the full reservation and start over but he wasn't sure if there would be anything available. What? Can't you just look at the computer? Oh, and the rate for ALL nights was significantly greater if i rebooked. I was asking for a Thursday and Monday night addition - not encroaching on a weekend. After a completely unhelpful call with booking he ended with, "please rate me as a 5 in your review." Why? You were ZERO help. We stayed at a different hotel the first night. Arrive at the 'resort' and was impressed when we drove in, it looked very nice. Enter units: the rooms are dated, dirty, in disrepair and paper thin walls. Internet doesn't exist. It's a TIME SHARE so watch out for the welcome crew! PUSHY! The lady followed us out almost to the parking lot after i said, "no thank you" to their pitch. Internet - gotta call front desk if you want it! And then sketchy, weird, unreliable. Ran a loud fan the whole 3 days so I didn't have to listen to the neighbor unit. Not yelling, just no insulation between units. Heard normal conversations like I was standing with them. Several other families from our team got an additional day added from front desk. Logistically easier to stay at the dumpy 'resort.' So I called and requested to prolong another night. 'Nope' no one day reservations ... I explained that I'd already been there 3 nights and would like another. 'Nope.' Then told to call booking. I told her about my previous call with booking and she told me to 'go online.' Go online where? Finally got the URL from her and yes, dead end. Just like all other 'customer service' at the dump. Non-existent. Exercise facility is a tiny room with a couple of old pieces. The restaurant manager was very nice to our group - kudos to him. Front desk and booking? Heck NO- or- should I just say "NOPE!" read more

Warning! DO NOT stay here. If you are an RCI or II vacation owner looking for a quiet peaceful time in Phoenix, DO NOT stay at the Legacy Golf Resort, at least not in the summer. If you are a Shell or Wyndham owner you should be mad as hell what they are doing to your property, and what your Maintenance Fees are going towards (the property is being destroyed and abused)!!! The Legacy is renting at the lowest prices to buyers online (look up hotel sites online), by the night, to "put heads in beds" (as the Security Director, Tim, told us). The smell of marijuana in the parking lot and in the rooms, and screaming of domestic violence in adjacent rooms, is the tranquility you will have instore, no exaggeration. The weekend brought loud courtyard parties, smoking, and music blaring from open room doors. Your neighbors are not on vacation, they are locals turning the property into a low-rent apartment complex for profit. The Assistant General Manager, Kelli, acknowledged that the "summer renters" are a different class than the "winter renters", in order to maintain their $3.5 million in sales each year. This is not an exaggeration or a rant, it is the disappointing truth for a property we once enjoyed staying at as RCI/II owners. If you do decide to ignore this review and try your luck, be sure to lock your rooms and secure your vehicles. The general feeling of safety you have while at a resort is not one you will have at the Legacy. Kelli, the Assistant General Manager, was great at explaining the above as unfortunate conditions, and assured us that Security would immediate evict violators. BEWARE! Not for those who have trouble walking! Don't be fooled by the price and having a golf course. First the resort is at least 30 years old. It does look nice and the lawns look great but then comes the problems. First the deadbolt doesn't work at all, and no one has shown in two days to fix it. The beds are like rocks with matching rock pillows. The smoke alarm goes off when you make toast and the toast isnt even slightly brown... Lastly AND THE WORST THING IS THE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR YOUR CAR! All three night we parked on one end of the resort to find a parking spot. You are give. A parking tag for your car and when you walk you begin to notice that 50% of the cars dont have one. Talked to the desk clerks "deer in the headlights" didn't know and didn't care.. Our stay at Legacy Golf started with a bad taste in our mouths. We were rudely treated by the hostess of the time share presentations when my father left his passport in his room. The free breakfast offered were the last pickings of bagels and cheese. The management was overall unempowered. Moreover, our son was allowed to be bullied by unattended teenagers with a poorly staffed swimming pool. The best part of the experience was the beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms. We enjoyed walking through the grounds in the mornings to see Gambel's quail and desert hares. We had a wonderful time as a family in the confines of our suite. If I could give this place zero stars I would, started out with the desk giving us someone's else's room, lucky the people in the room were out at the time we were bringing in our luggage. They gave us a different room lol. Walls are so thin you can hear everything even when your room is across the stairs. One night of partying til 4am and the next night of drunk arguing. Hot water never works and water does cut off at any given time. And last but not least air conditioner leaked from the ceiling in the bathroom. I do have to say the staff was always available. I recently stayed here on a vacation in Phoenix. The rooms are nice but dated. My stay was alright. The grounds were pretty and parking was ample. We booked through Airbnb which was a great option. Our room came with a little kitchenette, mini fridge, stackable washer and dryer, coffee maker, microwave, and a little patio. Our king bed was extremely soft to the point of being uncomfortable. There was a porch light on all night that shined into the room. You could also hear the neighbors through the walls. If you stay here I'd recommend bringing a sleep mask and earplugs. Also, be patient with the resort because they are extremely short staffed. I tried to get a drink at the restaurant bar and had to wait about 20 minutes, despite the restraint being nearly empty. Check-in was also a 20-30 minute process due to the counter being short staffed. Only one hot tub was in service when we came and the pool bar was not open. read more

The course itself was great! Did not appreciate that I couldn't ride my own golf cart, and instead was forced to ride with a stranger. I paid $130 for a round a golf and didn't expect that. I mentioned it to a staff member and all he said "we will run out of golf carts right away". Everyone knows that the early tee times get the golf carts, if they run out they run out. We deal with it. If you don't want to run out of golf carts that early buy more. read more

Nice looking course. Did the range and 18 holes with a group of 8. It is part of a resort, so expect pool areas, apartments, etc... Course itself was nice and clean. It's pretty nice. The guys that escortthe golfers on the course (the one's with timers..."Tim") was borderline irritating as he insisted several times to keep going on the course. Tim and the other guy kept rushing us. I know the timings of golf courses, but it was excessive. We stopped half way after 9th hole and was going to get a hot dog...but Tim chased us down and persisted we eat on the course. Terrible. What a way to not enjoy $75 golf. If this course has a strict policy on timings, then they should post it online. I've played at over a dozen courses here in the valley - and never experienced this. We also reported that the room hasn't been cleaned yet at 2:30pm and he says "we have a skeleton crew and it might never get done". We come to Phoenix often. They've made huge improvements recently! We stayed here a few years ago, and while it was a good experience, it wasn't necessarily worth coming back. We ended up coming back last week, and it was an excellent experience! We travel to Phoenix often, and this will be our go-to place to stay from now on. PROS: For one, our room had been recently updated, and they did a great job. The furniture was comfortable and well appointed. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable, and since I love my bed at home, I rarely say that about hotels. They give you lots of pillows that are nice and soft and a nice week of blankets. The pool is really nice, and the pool area is well-kept and clean with plenty of seating and shade. It's was peaceful and relaxing in early May. I'd imagine it gets crowded at times. They have an especially nice kitchen for a vacation condo. They had decent cooking supplies, including J.A. Henkles knives. They're the cheap knives for that brand (not as good as my $150 Henkles knife), but the blade still works very well. They even have a full knife block with a sharpener. They had stainless pans, which I appreciate since the nonstick ones always get scratched. Good location, close to downtown, with a decent commute during rush hour. scottsdale traffic gets so much worse. They're not pushy with the sales presentation. They just mentioned at check-in that we could do one for some gifts, I said we were too busy, and they didn't mention it again. CONS: My daughter said the pull out couch was very hard. IMO, it was about as comfortable as any other pull out sofa bed. Also, You need steel wool scrubbers for the nonstick pans. Next time, I'll buy some beforehand. The sponge they give you doesn't cut it. Location- It's not by much. There was a fry's nearby, but I prefer sprouts, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's, which we're all far pretty away. No restaurants super close. Nothing is terribly far, but nothing is walking distance either. There are a lot of buildings, so some of them are quite far from the restaurant and pool. Walkable, but in the heat of summer, I'd drive. read more

As a timeshare owner and frequent visitor I was so disappointed in my recent stay. The supervisor Pam was rude and condescending and didn't care that the previous agent misinformed me. The ladies at the front laughed at me and made me feel horrible threatening to cancel my reservation due to a previous representative of theirs advising my the wrong deposit amount. Booked a total of 5 nights but only stayed two. The first room smelled very strongly of mold and had it growing out of the bathroom ceiling vent. Not a problem, I figured we could switch rooms the next day and the front desk did a great job moving us quickly and making sure we had fresh linens. The next room wasn't completely clean but I was just happy to be out of the mold and I even bought my own cleaning supplies to touch up anything that was missed. Everything for the second room was okay until my children pulled out the sofa bed. The mattress inside had either small chunks of human excrement or blood. At that point it wasn't worth it for me, I just decided to check out early because I doubted the situation would improve and I was tired of changing rooms. I notified the front desk and they said I would only be charged two nights. Great, no problem, I couldn't wait to get back to Drury Inn who heard our story and upgraded us to an extremely clean suite with no additional charge. Followed up with Legacy a few days later to find out why I was charged but didn't receive a bill and I was promised an invoice but I never received one. Called back and was told to wait until Monday for the accounting department but was told I'd only be charged for the two days. Called the accounting department and left a message but no one called me back. Called again and this time someone answered. They took my information, my details and that was 5 days ago. I still have no invoice, no one reached out and I was still charged the full five days. Not cool. This stay was 3 weeks ago and I still don't have an invoice. read more

I will give this weeks visit 3 stars. The stay here was ok. The room itself was nice, The air conditioner worked great. The staff in check in were nice. I felt the stay was if I stayed at a normal hotel, and not of a Legacy resort. After we checked in they were very eager that we join them in their time share presentation; Then after they checked our ID they kindly said the time share presentations are full. It felt like it was a excuse of some kind. My main problem I had at the resort was that the entry way was dirty, and the rear Patio was very dirty with many bird droppings. I called and reported the problem of dirty entrance and patio, but they never came to clean the mess. second problem was a few little bugs in the room, I don't think there should be bugs, but we were in the desert. The TV was very small to watch. The TV seemed to be on some kind of satellite . I don't know but watching the tv, had some type of buffering, or digital interference. The TV tray had 4 distracting holes. I feel this resort is a place if you just need a place to sleep or stay. read more

I was excited about my hiking trip prior to checking in. Upon arrival at the hotel a guy greeted me and took my name; he then direct me to the front t desk to check-in. Everything went well, but then the front desk person directed to another desk to pick-up my welcome package. That's when I got irritated. They tried to schedule me to go a 2 hrs timeshare meeting. I stayed here for 3 nights recently and enjoyed my stay. I will come back. I stayed in a studio suite and the room itself was nice and cozy. It comes with a small refrigerator, hot plate, dishwasher, and a stackable washer and dryer. The air conditioning worked great. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and I slept great. The bathroom was also nice and the water was warm within seconds. The only real downside is the lack of parking. I don't think the developers really considered the need for adequate parking. I came back after 11pm all 3 nights I was there and was challenged to find parking that was within a reasonable distance to my room. Also when I made the reservation the website said checkout was 11am but I was told 10am when I checked in. That wasn't a big deal but it shows some lack of proper attention. Stayed here May 16-19th it is a beautiful property but when I went to do laundry a huge cockroach came running out of the closet... it was late the night before we checked out so we figured we'd tell them when we checked out and when we did mention it they were like "oh sorry" almost like it was a normal thing to have cockroaches in your room. The pool was beautiful but someone must of lost an earring in the pool and my bf ended up stepping on it and also the poolside bar was hardly ever open. read more

This review is for the hotel itself, since I don't golf and cannot review the course. I've stayed at several Shell properties over the years, including the Legacy on three separate occasions. The Legacy is without a doubt the lowest quality Shell property I've seen. Every time we've come to the Legacy, the guests in the adjoining rooms or the rooms above us have been rowdy and noisy. They are always large families who let their kids run amok at all hours of the night and have no concept of inside voices. We are not complainers, so I've always just tried to ignore the noise problem, but this last time, after we were forced to listen to a couple having sex in the bathroom next door to us on my tenth anniversary weekend with my husband (Labor Day 2016), I became extremely frustrated. We recently stayed in a Residence Inn elsewhere in Phoenix, which was much better quality and much less costly. We had housekeeping every day for no additional fees, a free continental breakfast, and reliable Wi-Fi. The Legacy offers no housekeeping if your stay is four days or less, no continental breakfast (at least not that we were aware of), and spotty internet. Even more concerning was when I walked into the bathroom on the last night of our most recent stay and almost stepped on an Arizona Bark Scorpion. Fortunately the light from the alarm clock showed me the outline of the scorpion on the bath mat, and I jumped aside at the last moment. I did complain to Shell Vacation Club shortly after we returned home, but the representative I talked to spoke with the manager of the Legacy and was told they would offer us no compensation of our points because we didn't complain while we were still checked into the hotel. My deepest regrets for not wanting to waste my tenth anniversary weekend arguing with a hotel manager about the quality of our stay. Not to mention, I nearly stepped barefoot on the most poisonous scorpion in North America in YOUR bathroom...you'd think an apology would be in order. Overall, I'd steer clear of this Shell property. The Orange Tree in Scottsdale or even Starr Pass in Tucson are much better value for your points, and if you're not using points, then your money is better spent at a Residence Inn. read more

We stayed here due to unexpected medical procedure . We were originally staying at another property and could not get extended , so we chose legacy. I have to say we were impressed by the grounds , but the customer service was a horrible let down. When we arrived we were accosted by concierge about time share crap. No thank you im not an idiot . We then get to room small not suite and the room did not look cleaned . Toddler fingerprints all over nightstands and coffee tables . Yuck We were both ill and exhausted . So let it slide,also we were happy to have a room ( although we paid allot to stay here compared to other hotels that had space. Lesson learned). I went to have a meal at club house ( mistake). After standing in front of entrance sign stating please wait to be seated an arrogant staff/ waiter asked me can i help you after being passed 8-10 times not even eye contact . Im waiting to be seated as the sign says. I guess normal guests cant read . I chose to sit on patio "anywhere he says" i pick a nice spot sunshine away from others due to phone calls needing to be made. After 15 mins he finally tells me where im sitting is saved for corp function. Wierd just 15 mins ago anywhere was the restriction. I finally get another waitress she takes my order and get pissy when i say for her to take drink and food order now due to previous delays she than got an attitude . 15-20 min wait for 6 dollar sandwich which cost 15 not worth it . We awoke a new day place nice and quiet plus. Wife decides lets try club house again , not knowing my previous visit issues. I agree hoping just bad luck. We arrive at clubhouse and decide get to food to take back to room . After standing at togo pickup bar 10-15 mins waitress/ bartender advises 25-30 min wait for a couple breakfast sandwichs We were starving and under time crunch Needless to say food was much better than previous day however for 18 bucks it should have . We've been to The Legacy many times, mostly for staycations. We've always enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, spacious condos with full kitchens (really got EVERYTHING - pots, pans, full china, silverware, cooking utensils, drinking glasses, wine glasses, bottle opener, etc etc). The condos have washers and dryers and come with small packs of detergent. There is a small bottle of dishwashing liquid and a basket of coffee (yes there's a real coffee machine - and not that Keurig crap), popcorn and salt and pepper. It's like a fully furnished apartment. There's extra bedding for a guest to sleep on the couch, and 2 TVs, one in the living room, one in the bedroom. The shower and whirl pool are wonderful. There's also a toilet plunger - and now we're getting into a problem area. More on that later. The resort's only pool is decent, with a large center pool and 2 small wading pools on the sides. We love that there's a bar by the pool. Great drinks, and you can order food, too. Unfortunately it's hit and miss in regards to having someone actually working there. This Friday at 5 PM there was nobody working at the bar, but there were plenty of people by the pool who surely would have loved to spend some money on drinks and snacks. Overall we really love The Legacy but we have noticed a few negatives lately. 1) they have become way more aggressive trying to sell you on a time share when you check in. You get your room key and then the concierge in the lobby tells you to get your parking pass from the desk behind you. THAT is where they try to get you to commit to attending one of their time share presentations. They're pretty aggressive about it and it's annoying. I just want my parking pass, please. 2) plumbing can be an issue. Some condos (looking at you, Building 3) have very weak toilets. In fact, you may find a toilet plunger in the little broom closet that's by the entrance. That's all I'm gonna say about it. 3) There is no in-room dining service. At all. They do have a restaurant on site but they won't deliver. Not a huge deal but it's a little inconvenient. Also, there is no little shop to pick up snacks or toiletries. That's also inconvenient, and frankly a bit odd, considering how nice this place is. There is a Fry's and Walgreens, pizza place, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and other stuff on 24th/Baseline (about a mile away maybe) so if you have a car, it's not a big deal. But if you're on vacation from out of town, it's a little lame to have to figure out a ride just to get some basics like food or shaving gel. 4) There is also no daily room service (ie, nobody's going to make your bed, grab your used towels, or clean anything). Again, no biggie for many but some people may miss the pampering they're used to from full service hotels. 5) You'll almost never get early check-in. The place is often booked solid. So cleaning crews have their hands full to get rooms ready in time. Out of 10 stays we got "early" check-in once - and that was an hour early. We feel the 4 PM check-in time many resorts, including this one. do is way too late. Check-out is at 11 so you're not getting nearly a full day for your money. So just be aware of that. read more

I have had the opportunity to golf at The Legacy a couple of times now and I just love it! The course is beautifully maintained and has a nice variety of par 3, par 4, and par 5 holes. I prefer 3 because I'm terrible, but I appreciate the range in difficulty. There are also a couple of holes with water if you appreciate that additional challenge. If you need clubs and would like to rent theirs, do it! The rental clubs are beautiful and well maintained. In addition, you get to swing a newer set of clubs. In my case, I rented the women's Ping Rhapsodys which are simply amazing! One thing to know is that to go orders are assessed a gratuity fee and if the beverage girl leaves before you actually close out your tab, you will automatically be charged 20% gratuity. At first, my wife and I were not impressed. Long story short, the first two room we checked in at were not acceptable. Out of respect for the resort (since their professionalism was fantastic) I will refrain from naming what was wrong with the first two rooms. And I am not too sure how much Covid and lack of staffing had to do with it. But after showing photos and explaining to the front desk what we had experienced and what was wrong with the first two rooms, they were more than apologetic and made sure that the third room was acceptable. During this frustration of not having an acceptable room twice, the resort made up for it with their customer service. The third room was great and we enjoyed our stay for the week. If the resort can do a little tlc on the rooms, this could be a five star place, because the staff they have there is fantastic and the rooms definitely have potential to be a comfy stay. read more

Heaven only knows how much I LOVE staying at a local hotel, but I can't say that my stay here was planned at all. In fact it wasn't. I had a "close encounter of the HVAC kind" in the middle of the Phoenix summer. So, I looked for a fun place to literally "CHILL" out until the problem with the A/C was fixed. This resort is next to one of my favorite businesses and I heard a lot about the course over here, so why not make lemonade outta the lemons I was handed. I spent 3 nights here and truly had a great time. My favorite part about my stay was the pool area. I had a fantastic time hanging out at the pool in the later part of the day. The pool area is large with tons of seating and towel service. There is a small wading pool for the younger kids. This pool is truly relaxing as the crowd is more mellow and family-oriented and less of the "It's gonna be party y'all" crowd. I stayed in a standard suite. The room was pretty large and thankfully, the room had a washer/dryer and small kitchenette (Microwave, fridge, range top), perfect setup for my home away from home. Although this room was their standard suite, the room, by no means, is the standard hotel room size. The room was large with a king size bed and a sleeper sofa with a dining table in the seating area of the room. Oh, and how could I forget to mention the spacious and relaxing terrace. I fell asleep out on my terrace 2 of the nights. Oh that terrace was a beautiful gift in the nice AZ late night of mid-September. As with most resorts that I've been to out here, the rooms are somewhat outdated in some fashion, so this resort is no exception to that rule. Hey, who cares if the room is outdated if you have free Wi-Fi! And they had free Wi-Fi The parking at the resort is free and there is ample parking. The property is large, so, depending on where you are on the property, you may have to take your car to the pool or the front desk. As far as food is concerned, there is an onsite restaurant that I did not patronize. I'm not an expert golfer, but I play one on TV, so I know that this course is an inexpensive public course. The course is absolutely stunning. It was fun for me to be largely a spectator with the friends when I have "played" this course. I'll be honest, I am a golfing companion. But, this isn't a review of the golf course... this is a review of the resort.... This is a place that is good for retirees, lovers, business travelers and a golfing get away. I had such high hopes for this place. This is owned by a timeshare company that I have used many times. I have always been reasonably happy with their places. This place showed up as being about $300 per night, so it looked as if it should be GREAT. First thing we noticed is that this place is south Phoenix. It is close to the airport, but really away from most other things (though easy fwy to just about anywhere in the area). It is near South Mountain and if you venture away from the resort just a little, you will notice that you are not really in the best part of town. There are some pretty low income areas within about a mile radius (in any direction). The resort itself is rather self contained and tucked in off the main street. There are two gated communities of homes that are private ownership within the complex along with the many timeshare/rental resort buildings surrounded by the golf course. The course is the first thing you see and it is very well kept and looks to be a beautiful course. (Not being a golfer, I cannot give specifics). The two story condo buildings all around the complex appear to be nice and relatively new. They have beautiful lawns and well maintained courtyards within each building. Each unit also has either a balcony or deck area with chairs. The clubhouse and main check in are toward the back of the property and area gorgeous. Very nice buildings with great landscaping around them. There are also 2 tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and a sand kids play area. The pool on the far side of the clubhouse is HUGE and very stunning. Larger than most resorts I have been to. There is also a bar and great area for laying out or playing with the kids. So, why is it a 2? Well. Lets see. The studio condo that we stayed in was nice, but immediately upon entry we noticed that it smelled of smoke. We did not want to make waves, so we just delt with it. The kitchen appears to have been redone with tile counter and nice appliances, but the rest of the room looks like 1980's indian wallpaper and decor. The sliding screen on the door to the patio was broken and off track. Our sliding door to the bathroom would not close. And that is only the beginning. Those are all superficial and could be overlooked if all else was well. WE very quickly noticed that the walls and floor in this place were like rice paper, THIN THIN THIN. We could hear every word of conversations, running and even walking of every footstep of the people above us, the tv left on in the next room all night until the phone rang at 7am and the gentelman turned it off, the new neighbor checking in to his room at 1130pm, rolling his bag over the tile, hanging his close on the hangers in the closet and then going to bed to be awakened at 630am by a phonecall when he left, two people having a normal volume conversation until 330am in the next room of which we could make out every word, etc. I think you get the gist of it. I would really like to rate this place higher since the amenities and the resort itself area really very good. They have so many free things to offer and are really pretty good about their customer service. But, how can you rate a place any higher than a 2 when you are paying $300+ a night and cannot sleep. We overheard an entire line of people in line checking out complaining about similar situations and the lack of quiet. Thank goodness I did not have to pay nearly that amount to stay here, but its still a 2. If you have kids and really do not need to sleep at all, this place may be for you. It is likely that I will not ever go back here. I would rather stay cross town at their sister resort that is not quite as nice, but newly remodeled and quiet! read more

I have stayed here before and it's my go to hotel when I am in the area for business because I know the area and I am a rewards member. However the last time I was there in Oct 2018. I was very disappointed in the front desk personnel. My room is nice roomy and clean. However I was there for 3 nights and my AC didn't work at all. I informed the front desk the 1st day they told me it would be looked at and corrected. After I got back to my room late that day I found that when I wanted to go to bed the temperature never got cool enough for me to sleep peacefully. Lucky it was Oct in AZ not June or July. But never the less my AC never got fixed nor did anyone try to check on me to ask if it was either. It's the small things that make the difference. If I didn't want the reward points I would had checked out. read more

Not what a Wyndham normally is both hot tubs did not work, in room phone did not work, took 3 and calls and all day to get clean towels and trash sacks, very dishonest about Wyndham vaction sales first they said 90 minutes we could not get out of there for 2 hours they said you would receive1 free RCI week (it is written on the paper) for going what you receive is 1 free RVC voucher that is RCI left over inventory that can only be utilized as last minute. Golf course is nice Raven just accross the street is much nicer and much more organized there where 3 groups waiting and no one new where the starters was when we played Lagecy. Beautiful course. This is what desert golf is all about. $75 for cart, 11am tee time & range with unlimited balls. Took 4:15 to play. Tee box, fairways & greens were pristine. Dare i say, the best i've ever played on (been playing 1 year). Everyone, from guys grabbing golf clubs from car to the starter were all very professional and polite. I would highly recommend this place to all who are in Phx. Its pricey, but definitely worth it. read more
