My wife was nearly in tears because she could neither close nor lock the door! What was done wrong? This contractor installed the unit to the existing house framing without checking plumb (vertical alignment) - which changed significantly over the 12 foot span of the door. Milgard sent a service rep. Since vertical alignment was so different at the two ends of the unit, the rep could not fix problems. After two (2) follow-up discussions, Bow's showed no willingness to correct issues. Excuses, but no rework. Next, I hired someone else to remove the door and correctly reinstall it. The door now works great and looks much better! This person correctly installed interior trim pieces that Bow's thought were unneeded exterior pieces. Bottom Line: - If you want something done right in your own home, I suggest looking elsewhere. - If you want a great finished appearance, look elsewhere. - If you need a quick fix to flip a property, you might ask Bow's to bid.

"Hello we no longer work in [my town]" and "he is not available or interested". Their quote technically expired after 30 days, so no issues and wouldn't work with them now anyway, but would have appreciated a more proactive communication and some appreciation for the fact that their service area changed with no notice (and they knew they had an outstanding bid in the area they no no longer serve). For sure they get to take whatever work they want, but my experience was overall not great.

Since this was our second home renovation project (we had a mixed-to-negative experience with our previous contractor), we spoke with a few different contractors in the South Bay and chose S&S based on several factors including their very competitive pricing, flexibility in understanding our needs, and excellent first impressions (showing up on time, proactively providing us with recommendations, being super approachable, etc.). Throughout the entire project, S&S and their partners always showed up on time (or communicated in advance if they were running a little behind), checked in with us to see how we felt things were progressing, and temporarily paused work to recalibrate with us if we felt adjustments needed to be made. Even though things didn't always go smoothly 100% of the time (what home project ever does?), S&S made sure that things were "done right" and that we were satisfied with the end result. Of particular note, this included S&S spending extra time, money, and labor at their own expense to make sure things met both our expectations and their standards, which absolutely speaks to their exceptional work ethic and business practices.
