This time, I'm going to take home a lunch meat sub for later tonight. I don't think I've ever had one. My father was friends with the original owner. My dad worked at the Ford Rawsonville plant. He would take orders from the people on the line and go to Gabriels and pickup sometimes 20 hoagies or more. He told my dad for every ten that he ordered, he would give him a free one. My brother and I like to stop by there at least once a month. Do yourself a favor please go check this place out. You can thank me later.

We literally have to cook extra meat at home just to turn these into actual cheesesteaks. And the cheesesteak rolls? The menu photo shows four halves. What showed up was ONE roll cut in half. That's it. The curly fries were the only thing remotely worth the money. Charging extra for every tiny add on while simultaneously skimping on the actual food (and the addons) is wild. If you're going to charge premium prices, at least put enough meat on the sandwich to justify calling it a cheesesteak.

They did an excellent job on that. I feel as if it is the quality of the chicken itself that isn't as good as you'd expect. The employees were incredible, and they did a stellar job in delivering an amazing service and a good product efficiently. As far as looks and presentation goes, they did phenomenal. It ended at the taste of the wing and fry combo I ordered. It HAD to be the chicken itself. The employees that were on shift that day were amazing and delivered fast, friendly service that is incomparable to anything nearby. Overall? I honestly would go back and try this Charley's cheesesteaks a few more times. I must have caught them after a busy hour. My review's rating is simply reflecting the quality of the food, and not the quality of the service, or employee input. 3/5. I'll update this when I go again. Which should be soon. When someone tells me that their (anything) in the State of Michigan is the best, there really should be a way for the diner to compare said "best" to other places. I do like the rolls. Very much so. But is the sandwich the "best"? I know of at least one place in Detroit that might at least share that claim. I still like the cold sandwiches and deli salads. The desserts are very good. And the burgers are good with a nice selection of toppings. Fries, tots, and chips are all available to order. The staff is very friendly, either in person or on the phone. The restaurant has a LOT of room in the dining area. Although I don't recall ever asking, it may have been two businesses at the same location, and at some point, the floor space was combined. They may not accept very large parties, like a business lunch, but they have the room for this type of gathering. I still recommend this place, and pickup/Door Dash is always available if you do not wish to dine in.
