An absolutely delightful spot in downtown Howell. There's plenty of seating, and their service is quick and very kind. They also have a store to purchase trinkets and stuff which I believe (??) had additional seating. We had the pleasure of ordering the Dino, which was flavorful and a decent portion. We also got a mocktail and found the size and flavor were such a steal for the price. Their pickles were also Uber tasty. Overall, this place is generous and good. It's worth the trip even if you live far! There's street parking close by too! read more

The Crunchy Pickle - Chickle Panini (Grilled) - Delis Near Me - Howell, Michigan

This place won my heart all around. Started with a great vibe as I walked off the street into this cozy spot where friendly staff took my order after recommending their number one sandwich. And the Chickle did not disappoint, it was so amazing I had to go ask about the "secret sauce" to see if I could even attempt to make back in home state because I know my wife would enjoy it! (Was here on a work trip.) read more

First time visiting here since new ownership and it's still amazing! Fresh bread, high quality ingredients, our go to sandwich joint in downtown Howell. We visited here on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed! But they were moving at a good pace and the wait was not long at all. Not much indoor seating so we did have to take it to go. The store does get a bit cramped when they're that busy but other than that it's a cute store. Very clean and inviting. Will be returning! Great sandwich joint! read more

Had a great lunch at The Crunchy Pickle with a friend! There are so many great sandwich combos as well as a few salad options and a couple different soup options. The bacon cheeseburger soup was creamy and hearty- great flavor. I also appreciated that they had a gluten free bread option for my sandwich. You can also purchase a bag of chips on the side and they have different flavored soda options too. Great friendly service! read more

Had to park around the corner but that was no problem. Walked in and was able to order at the counter right away. We did have to wait for a table for just a few minutes as this is an intimately sized place with just a few tables. Noise level was not bad for as many people as were there. Staff were friendly and quick. I ordered the Lunch combo with Lori sandwich and English Cottage Salad, along with an Emo gourmet soda. Everything was delicious and perfectly portioned for a quick lunch. read more

I love their English Cottage salad with chicken. That dressing is so good! I make dressings at home a lot and I'm not sure what they put in there but it's very good! Their paninis are top notch! I really shouldn't have paninis because of the bread and carbs but honestly so GOOD! Try one. The ambiance is great. You should shop the alley sometime. I usually just drop in for a salad but everyone is so friendly. It's a great spot to meet someone for lunch too! read more

This was an adorable spot that was on my come back and try list since I saw it this fall at the Sunday farmer's market. I especially wanted to come here to try their gourmet sodas. There has been a lot of hype about those soda shops out West that do different pop combinations and we wanted to try some. I finally found a place here in Michigan, which was not easy. My child and I both got the hipster. It was Dr. Pepper with several syrups and a cold cream foam. It was very good and refreshing. They have so many combinations. I typically drink diet coke, so next time I visit, I will try a diet version, but I wanted to try some sort of dirty Dr. Pepper rendition. It is a cute tiny shop with a few tables. Their sandwiches do look very good and their pickle dip sounds amazing. We love pickles. I know this is a tiny small business, but I feel like a gourmet soda shop might work in other locations. I think people in Michigan would be open to having this type of place in the marketplace, in case the people who own this shop are looking to expand. read more

My fave sandwich shop. Lately, I've been opting for the Chickle but have tried most of their sandwich offerings. They don't cheap out on ingredients. You may have to wait a bit if they're busy but it's totally worth the homemade love that goes into your order! read more

I really like the crunchy pickle for a quick lunch. Their sandwiches are made with select deli meats like prosciutto, mortadella, salami, pepperoni, and more. I also tried their charcuterie box for 1 and loved it, especially the dill dip. I need to try a panini next. I also love their soda mixed drinks. I tried the watermelon with cucumber, but would modify it use sprite in the future instead of bubbly water. I'm just not a bubbly water fan. I also have tried out the btterbeer with coke, and it was divine! read more

Man! The food was bussin! (Spectacular)! And the atmosphere was gratifying. The alley entrance is worth the walk (which isn't far at all. Amazing sandwiches, yummy gourmet sodas, quick and friendly service. Not to mention the welcoming and cozy atmosphere once inside. The rotating soups are delicious and homemade! Also try their dill dip. It's fantastic on sandwiches or with a bag of their chips. I can't recommend this place enough! My favorite sandwich is The Lori. Try it you won't be disappointed! Owners Andrea & Jason and their team are taking this restaurant to the next level! Keep up the great work. read more

This place was recommended to my friend and we went here for a late lunch. The place was decorated super cutely for October and the service was great! We loved the concept for the menu items. I ordered The Joe and The Mean girl while my friend had The Carmella with a side of balsamic dressing and Hot Girl. If you are a meat lover like me you will really enjoy The Joe, it was thick and packed with meat. My friend also enjoyed her meal especially the not too sweet peachy drink. I really enjoyed the cream, cherry, and lime combination which I've never had before. Overall, great place but certainly on the pricier side compared to other places. read more

The food was extremely lackluster. I ended up getting the Dino sandwich which was not bad but honestly needed more cheese to accommodate the 2lb of roast beef they implanted in my sandwich. On top of this my girlfriend got a "chickle" sandwich and it was akin to the Nasty Patty from spongebob, i genuinely wouldnt wish this "chickle" sandwich on my worst enemies tastebuds. It was like a momma bird regurgitated mashed potato salad in between two slices of toasted bread. I do have to admit the drinks were fantastic. I got the Hipster Dr Pepper and it was delicious however upon mixing it with my straw it exploded all over like a pent up teenager. We also got the jersey girl salad and it was amazing. I forgot to mention we had waited for a total of ~20 minutes with enough time to get through an entire M Street waiting line! Overall the sandwiches were extremely underwhelming, not satisfactory, the side dishes and drinks are a better staple for this place. And it only costed us 2 arms a leg and my firstborn child being ~$60 for 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, a 1 salad. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I would rather eat at Arby's. read more

My husband and I visited for a lunch date one afternoon. I've been wanting to try a "pickle sandwich" forever! I had my Joe on a pickle, my husband had the Chickle. My pickle sandwich didn't disappoint, however, it was extremely messy. Next time I'll get my pickle on the side. My husband said his Chickle was very good. Cute place in downtown Howell. Service was kinda slow, but we had the time. I wish they had more indoor seating. It filled up very quickly and folks were waiting for tables to be available. Glad we got there before the rush! Happy I finally got to try a pickle sandwich! Bucket list item checked off! read more

On 10/18/25, I was able to pull off a surprise milestone 70th birthday party for my wife at the Brighton Pickleball Club! Very small amount of meat for 14.25. Should have gotten Jimmy John's. Bottled lemonade was not good. Nice place but pricey for what it is.

There was a near 30 minute wait after ordering a sandwich, during farmers market. (I understand this adds to the busy-ness.) The organization of who had ordered and who was still waiting to do so was chaos. There is no disabled entrance. The food was fine. read more

I pretty much stopped writing reviews but sometimes I just have to with some places that seem extra special! I'm so excited this place opened as the sandwiches are to die for amazing & although it's not close to my house I don't mind driving 30mins knowing I'm getting something worth it!! You wouldn't ever see me ordering a sandwich or eating one outside my house because I've never found a place outside of Europe that makes sandwiches with fresh, simple & quality ingredients until now so I'm super excited for this place! This mom & pop sandwich shop got me wanting to stop by and try their sandwiches when I first saw their menu on Facebook and when they posted videos/photos of their various sandwiches. I was greeted when I walked in and even though I sort of knew what I was going to get ahead of time it took me a minute because I was still stuck between getting two different ones but I decided on the Carmella. Side note, the sandwiches are all named after family members and I believe maybe friends as well which is so fun! So about my sandwich The Carmella. She asked me if I wanted hard or soft bread which I wasn't expecting so I just said soft. My sandwich had prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, tomatoes, olive oil & balsamic vinegar. I was a bit nervous with the tomatoes only because I'm super picky with them. If they aren't fresh they will be tasteless and gross so I almost did a minus tomatoes but I'm glad I didn't as they were perfect!! The bun also tasted nice and fresh, not to soft but just enough! I sat outside the store on a bench as the weather was beautiful and really enjoyed my sandwich which was so filling I could of really ate only half and saved the rest for later but did eat it all. The flavors all came together so wonderfully, it was such a good balance & I really enjoyed it! They also have a very creative drink menu of gourmet sodas I haven't seen anywhere else. Although I didn't try a drink I know when I'm back I will they all sound so good!! They also had 2 soups available, Chicken Noodle and Lemon Rice I believe they were. There was also a ice cream section and I totally forgot to see what desserts they had today but I heard they use someone local to make them which is a huge plus in my book!! There's nowhere to actually eat inside as with tables but while you wait for your sandwich to be made there's plenty of seating. They do have a bench right outside their door and also all around outside there's lots on nice areas to sit, they even had a small table in the cute alley behind the shop I totally forgot to take a photo of but it's right under their sign above the door. I know this place has been only open for a few months now so I wish them much success!! I'm very excited to support a local Michigan Made family business & can't wait to try another sandwich!! read more

Just stumbled on to this gem. Yum, what a delicious lunch! Sofia Panini and Bougee soda. Sprite, cherry lime juice, lime and some other yummy to wash down the large Panini. Service was good. Will definitely return! read more

WOW! Go try it! Delicious sandwiches, local chips/pretzels and don't skimp on the small drink - so creative!!! Fantastic!

Wow! The crunchy pickle has so many different sandwiches to choose from. Luckily for me they had two different vegetarian options. I of course chose the Michael because what Michael wouldn't pick one that's literally calling their name?! The sandwich was stuffed with toppings and slathered with flavorful spreads. Being the retired emo kid that i am I went with the Emo beverage. Delightful is the word I would use to describe that! If you're looking for high quality bread and toppings, and a thirst quenching beverage, this is the place for you. Will be back again as soon as I'm In the area. read more

Wow, I've had one of their sandwiches once and I really want to go back! It was delicious! The shop is clean and bright, but on the smaller side. They seemed to have decent seating options. Great food, great service, great location, charming owner. We're from out of town but I'm sure we'll be back.

The food and service were both very good. More bread selections would have been nice, but overall it was exactly what we were looking for
