We recently visited for St. Patrick's Day, not on the actual day because it fell on Monday this…read moreyear and they were closed. Instead they had a 4 day celebration with a special food menu. Although I only have a very small percentage of Irish in me, I'm celebrating full on and love anything with corned beef! We went on Thursday figuring it would be the least busy of the 4 days, and let me tell you the dinner crowd was hopping. We snagged the last 2 spots at the bar and ordered. I'm not a beer drinker but I appreciated they had 2 rotating taps for hard cider and went with a lemon flavored cider (sounded intriguing and could have went either way so I appreciated the small sample). I actually really liked it and am bummed I forgot to ask who makes it. We both thought the Irish nachos sounded fun and different and when we asked we found out they were huge and could easily feed 2 people. I'm so glad we decided to try something different. They were on homemade potato chips and had corned beef, bacon, banana peppers, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut and of course cheese and sour cream. They did not skimp on the corned beef or bacon!! The service was friendly and the atmosphere lively. We will definitely be back because the regular menu also looked great!!

totally deserves a 1 star review. It's the most disgusting restaurant I have ever been to…read moreeverything on the menu is disgusting. I asked for a sprite. They said they don't have soda. I asked for an ice water. They said they didn't have ice and that she had to get your own water at a water fountain around the corner. Then I ordered the only thing I thought I could eat, which was nachos and the meat on it was rotten. This is literally the most disgusting restaurant ever the only people rating at a 4.5 must be family members of the restaurant super gross. The owner claims there's no way that the meat could've been rotten because they stand behind all of their food which is a shame cause it's also disgusting. You're right it probably wasn't rotten because it was canned nasty.

Like most chains right now, the staff is mostly teenagers. They were very pleasant and actually appeared to care about working, which was refreshing. Place is clean, good parking, and ran well. I started working here back in July. Everything started off good and I loved it for the first few…read moremonths, back Before I started working I was promised a raise in October for my birthday. Well October comes around and I ask about the raise, to not get an answer back. This went on for about 4 months. I would call/text the owner (Al Shear) to not get anything back, Al never came to the Hartland Dairy Queen location because he has another Dairy queen location he owns in grand ledge that he cares way more about. After complaining about this to my manager, she was able to get a hold of him, Al told my manager that I was supposed to get a $3.00 increase starting back in October but he missed giving me a raise because he forgot about my birthday, he later told my manager he's going to put that money into my new check, 2 weeks rolls around and I get my check to find the money wasn't in my check. After I saw my dollar amount, I had my manager make sure Al calls me so we can discuss this. He finally decides to call me back and actually have some communication after all this time to tell me he's only giving me a dollar increase because the "policy has changed". I brought up how I should still be getting that raise even though the "policy changed" because its not fair to me that everyone else got that raise besides me because he made the mistake of ignoring and forgetting about me, but he was still dead set on the new policy. While come to find out the new hires are making more than the people who have been there longer, Also Al collects the tips at the end of the night and doesn't equally distribute them to his employees, he keeps them for himself. On the Dairy Queen website it says the start off pay is $13.00 per hour, well Al doesn't start you off at $13.00, he starts you off $10.00 per hour which is lower than minimum wage which is $10.33 an hour and he will tell you that you need to prove to him that you deserve more money. I was a very hard worker at Dairy queen and i didn't diverge to get forgotten about and swept under the rug. Also you can only use your discount the days you work, and you can only order one thing. Don't waste your money at Hartland Dairy queen and don't go here for a place of employment!!!!
