They are EXCELLENT! The lady at the front was super sweet and empathetic to what had happened to my daughters senior prom dress by a different place. She even put a rush on fixing it and the cost was very fair! Didn't even charge extra for the rush! The first place cut off the "horsehair braid" from the bottom of the dress to shorten it and it made the dreas look COMPLETELY different it akmost looked pleated. The other place said they couldn't fix it so we took here to Lee's Tailors and they fixed it which made my daughter so happy and relieved which made me happy and relieved lol. We have two more future prom girls and will definitely be bringing their dresses, as well as any other tailor work, to Lee's without question! read more

I'm not sure of why people are leaving such bad reviews. Lees has tailored maybe 6-7 clothing items for me. ALL have been up to expectation or better. The price is FAIR and the speed is ridiculously fast. My Fiance had a dress that was clearly 3-4 sizes too small (ordered on accident). They were able to literally pull material from the dress and keep it looking authentic. They are wizards of their craft. Best in town 10/10 read more

When I confronted her, she says she did not see me standing there, but she reached past me. Then she said oh I assumed you needed to try something on. Fraudulent charging. Supposedly a 6% fee for using a credit or debit card; however for a $25 dollar hem - I was charged $6.00 not 6% for using my debit card to pay. I will be speaking with owner upon pickup my alteration. Also inconsistent application of supposed charging as I watched an interaction between the owner and a customer bringing in curtain panels for alteration. She did not have cash and was told it was fine to pay upon pickup whereas as she demanded payment from. I did not have cash and she said " go get it." I said I would not and I would pay the fee as I was in a hurry to which she charged $6. Strongly recommend not visiting this place of business. Extremely disappointing. read more

I had a terrible experience at Lee Tailor Alterations and I feel profiled and discriminated against. I had gone to this establishment based on a recommendation for getting my FAJA altered. When I arrived, I was respectful and had no problem with paying $25 for the service.However, I was not allowed to try on the garment for fit in the shop, which was very disappointing. I am beyond disturbed, hurt and feel highly discriminated against by my treatment at this establishment. She even accused me of having a dirty garment that needed to be washed even though it was clean. So disrespectful! After this experience, I decided to call another local alteration shop to see how they handled alterations. This second shop informed me that their process for FAJA alteration involved the customer trying on the garment in the shop and the seamstress determining the necessary alterations. They also allowed the customer to try on the garment at pick up to ensure that the alterations were satisfactory. They were shocked to hear about how I was treated at Lee Tailor Alterations and couldn't believe that I was not allowed to try on the garment in the shop and treated this way. At Lee Tailor Alterations, they agreed to alter my FAJA but only if I told them how many inches to alter. I was not allowed to try on the garment or have it pinned for alterations beforehand by the professional seamstress. This was very frustrating because I am not a seamstress and did not know the correct measurements. It seemed unfair that the caucasian customers were allowed to try on their garments and have them pinned for alterations, while I, as an African American female, was not given the same opportunity. I came to this shop because they were supposed to be experts in alterations, but I felt disregarded and disrespected. The woman at the shop even told me that I would not be able to try on the garment after the alterations were completed. I was not allowed to use the dressing room or check if the alterations fit correctly in the store. This was a completely new experience for me, as I have never been to an alteration shop that did not allow customers to try on their garments for fit at the time of pick up.My question to them is why was treated so unfairly and not given the same regard as the caucasian paying customers. read more

This is the only alteration shop in Greenville I will take my clothes to, not only are they incredibly nice, but they do exemplary work that holds up. The prices are fair and reasonable, and turnaround time for any garment is only a few days. I have taken their advice multiple times of finding better fitting shirts and pants that won't need a lot of money to alter. They will literally tell you something is not worth the extra money if it starts to add up on alteration fees. They value quality over quantity of just pushing something out. That is why anytime you go to their shop it is always busy and there is always a line. That's how good of a service they provide. read more

Even though we aren't in Raleigh, NC they brought that quality and work to Greenville, SC with them. They are Great tailors that work with you on your timeline and what you need completed. So happy I found a quality seamstress for a reasonable price!! Located at Haywood Mall, Lee's Tailor Shop is a great place to stop for alterations. They have several dressing rooms for you to change in. The lady that helped me was very sweet and made helpful suggestions. I had brought two dresses, and she assured me the one fit well and didn't need any changes. This impressed me, and showed me they weren't just trying to make a sale. They ask when you need your piece of clothing by, and same day service is available. To take in a formal dress by 1.5 inches was ~$40. They also steamed my dress when they were done so it looked fresh and brand new. I will be back the next time I need something altered! read more

I went to Lee's to have two Brooks Brothers Suits altered, letting out the waist a little and hemming on both pants and to have an additional pair of dress slacks let out and hemmed. Chin, the manager was amazing and incredibly precise, which is perfect for someone like me who straightens askew wall paintings and has to have shoe laces perfectly the same length before lacing up (it's a curse and pain in the rump for most people around me). Chin was very smart in how she dealt with the tailoring. For instance, instead of just letting out the waist and taking up the hem, she suggested I take out the waist first on all pants and then to come back to have the hems completed. While not originally happy to have to come back twice, her method was spot on because letting the waist out affects how the pants will fall, thus affecting where the hem should be. The cool thing was that once you come back they will do the hems as you wait, which is super fast. Now, regarding the hems. Both Chin and myself seemed to share the same need to have the hems exactly the same on each leg, or at least she was willing to let me be me, to make the customer happy. She was incredibly patient with me as I asked to have one or the other leg adjusted slightly one way or another, when most people, including my wife, could not notice the difference. She would pin and adjust, and then when it was perfect, the tailor in the back would hem them quickly and skillfully, while I waited. Also I had the arms of one suit let down an inch or so, and her method to get them precise was ingenious and worked perfectly. Honestly I would give this one star but the saving grace is the face the lady was sweet as all can be, and pricing over there is great. But I took my work jacket in to get tailored because the sleeves were baggy and so was the sides. Quickly she was able to put needles in the jacket and told me she can get it to me same day which was great but I had a weekend to have it back so told her I'll grab it in three days. Unfortunately I was already late for work when I grabbed my jacket so I didn't try it on (huge mistake on my part) but they made All my sleeves incredibly too short! Like when I put my arms down you can see a 2.5 inches of my forarm before you get to my hands. And it is ever worse when I wear a dress shirt underneath it. Like you can see welllll above the cuffs. At this point my uniform is ruined and I can't even get it fixed. It is like a bad haircut like the length now is gone. And all I wasn't was them taken in NOT SHORTENED. I am very disappointed. Once again great price, sweet people. But my uniform is ruined and now I have to buy a new jacket. Welp. read more

Yes, I could have hemmed the pants myself but I didn't want to do the price they charged was absolutely worth it, price is still a bargain and I will definitely go back. Also, they lowered the waistband on some pairs of pants and they did a great job of that, too. I thought they were good from previous minor alterations, but then I had them create two shirts with a sample/template shirt to go by and I brought my own material. I just told them I wanted the collar tightened only ... yet these instructions apparently made the shirt shorter on the bottom, but I did not want that; I only wanted the collar tightened (smaller). So, when I got the two shirts back, they were shorter than the template shirt. Why couldn't they understand what I wanted? It was simple. I paid $120 for two shirts that are more "petite" than what I need and I am not happy! What idiots! read more
