My daughter brought her wedding gown to Kitty's for alterations. The owner apologized for missing "add hook and eye" on the order. They had to add them when she waited. When she put the dress on last night for me, one of the straps that they had shortened was not the right length. Someone helped her put the dress on THREE times the morning she picked up and no one thought it was important to adjust it. The stitching on the lining and pads looked like novice work. After the wedding, I'll post pictures. The hustle loops are loops of elastic thread. thankfully it was only $25 for those three loops and buttons. There is no pricing transparency so we were surprised by what we paid. The owner told me that she would give pricing estimates from now on. I'd encourage you to ask and get it in writing. I do not recommend going to this business. They ruined a bridesmaids dress that I was supposed to wear in a wedding. All I asked for was a simple straight, floor length hem for my brothers wedding. Instead of doing it the right way, with a chalk hem marker, they lazily put one pin in where the hem should be while I was trying the dress on. I left, trusting that they were the professionals and would do it correctly. Two weeks later I returned to pick the dress up and the left side was dragging on the floor and the right side of the hem was up to my ankle. Totally incorrect, so I brought it back and they PROMISED me over and over that they'd fix it. I left and came back a 3rd time and again instead of using a chalk hem marker, they just removed an inch off the entire bottom, leaving the same exact incorrect hem, long and dragging on the floor on one side and up to my ankle bone on the other side. When I asked them to please fix it the third time, using a chalk hem marker to measure it around the bottom, they told me they wouldn't do it, that their hem was correct because they measured up from the bottom and that it was because my dress was made cheaply. They should have done it correctly from the start, instead of cutting it off lop sided twice. I am appalled at the treatment I received and I will never return nor recommend it to anyone else. I am frustrated that I wasted money and time here. I'm so disappointed that I cannot wear this dress and that the hem is too short for floor length. I had to BEG them to give me my money back. They refused many times and told me they couldn't until the owner came back in town. Now I am left a week before the wedding with a dress that is too short and stranded trying to find someone to correct it. Unfortunately they chopped off too much to begin with and it's ruined. I was treated poorly when I asked them to make it right and fix it, they sent me away and told me that it's my fault and that they would not fix it. Photo for proof of what they sent me away with. Most inconvenient alterations experience. Friendly people, but they only take cash or check. If 2019, you should not cause your customers the inconvenience of driving to get cash or check in order to pay for goods. Alterations were subpar, and pinholes left in satin. For a more convenient, efficient experience, go to Lee Tailors. They do a great job every time, are prompt, and accept major credit cards. read more

I came for a prom dress alteration. I asked for the lining to be extended, one layer of tulle to be added, and a small hemming. I dropped off the dress a month before it's pick up date and they called me the day before I was scheduled to pick up the dress asking for fabric to use for the lining. I then went around town finding my own fabric to take to them. The next day I went for pick up. They only added the layer of tulle to just above the knee making the dress look awful. They offered to take out the tulle entirely and did so. They then charged $145 for hemming a dress and adding lining which I purchased and took to them myself. I did more labor than they did. Very displeased with this company. Why must they need my dress a month before to only start altering it the day before pickup? They only take cash/check (which they do not advertise until you are ready to pay). I will not be going here again. read more

I've used Kitty's Alterations twice, both for bridesmaids dresses, and they both fit perfectly and I was very pleased with the final outcome! They are very timely, even for long layered dresses, they were both done in 2 weeks! Alterations on long dresses like these were pricy, but I didn't feel like I was getting an unfair price at Kitty's Alterations. I've only done dresses, but I have a coworker who gets most of her pants hemmed at Kitty's and she's been a fan for years! It's in the shopping center across from Monterray's on Laurens. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about making sure everything fit well on me. I have since gone back with many pants, shirts, and suits for advice and alterations. I have even consulted her about multiple items that she has recommend not to get altered. I just picked up four dresses from this establishment. Two items clearly were altered far from my specifications, if they were altered at all. The other two were altered close to my specifications, but were not done well. I came here at the request of another establishment who would pay for any necessary alterations. So this place is terrible, i went there to get my prom dress altered and when the women was measuring me it was very awkward because i felt like i had no say in anything. I needed my bust to get more support so i asked if she could thicken the straps to they'd be more comfortable tighter... she said no. So after my uncomfortable experience with the employees, i recieve my dress back weeks after i bring it to them (6 days before my prom by the way- also i only got it because I called THEM rather than THEM calling ME to tell me my dress was ready) and it doesnt fit. It's horrifying, and i'm absolutely heartbroken because i had found a perfect dress and it has been ruined. The women made it way too small and it looks so awful. It looked better before when it was barely too big. I'm so so displeased by their service. I absolutely do not reccomend this place. read more
