    Lees Ferry Lodge

Best place to stay in Marble Canyon!Close to many beautiful land marks and a perfect place to stay while visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. A charming tavern that serves beer and wine. No food so bring your own cooler/supplies. They have grills and a refrigerator for your convenience, also, ice!!! They also offer a haul back service for Lees Ferry/Glen Canyon and can be found at kayakthecolorado.com A wonderful experience for fishing or kayaking. Cathy and Brady are the most gracious host and made our stay very comfortable. We will come here again and again!

Incredible location, with a fantastic rustic feel. Far more to do in the area than I expected as far as hikes and things to see.

Great lodge in a wonderfully remote location! They took Covid precautions very seriously which I really appreciate as a mom. The views were beautiful and I look forward to bringing my family back there soon!

    Our gorgeous view

Location? check if you're in the right locale at the lodge... Lodge? cool although we were not granted the privilege of seeing inside Management? terrible Heres the deal...I never write reviews. I feel it is a form of bullying behavior. But what happened with us yesterday is just beyond the realm of rudeness, unprofessional attitude and cowardice. Oh, and since I did tell them I was posting a bad review, here it is. We booked a room for two nights...unseen and based upon reviews as are here. (We should have read the one star on Trip Advisor...it says it all...) We were advised that the only room available for one of our nights was a "family" room, larger and therefore more expensive. We were good with that...after all, it was our vacation and why not buy more "room"...? Well shoot...once we arrived and saw the manufactured home we were squeezed into in the back of the resort, with dirt to sit in vs. the nice patio with trees and a unobstructed view of the cliffs, we were off to a dismal start. But we had an early 6 a.m. kayak experience booked so we folded up our disappointment and prepared to try to enjoy it. Problem really started when I walked up to the lodge to see what I could see...as we were nowhere close. wow! Nice lodge...patios, trees, and an unobstructed view of a gorgeous set of red rock cliffs and fizzures in the earth. How I would have loved to have had that setting. Instead, my room (manufactured home cut in half and jammed with beds...windows that wouldn't open and old crappy air conditioners which we turned off because, really, when was the last time those filters were changed?) was sitting in a dirt patch behind the kayak shop affording us a view of stashed ladders, shovels, and a plethora of crap. Oh, and all for $150.00 a night! Cool! she says facetiously. So I asked my husband who had booked the joint if he could politely call again and see if we could move to the good area for our second night...mind you...this was late afternoon and we had a 6 am date with the river...Manager Janet wasn't answering and we got the owner. She found Janet and we got a very nice call saying that yes, we could be accommodated and after being advised that we would not be back by checkout time to move our stuff, she said we could wait until returning from the river trip. We had been told 5-6 hours so assumed we would be back by noon. 4:30 a.m....alarm to get up! And I go to make coffee...nope...coffee maker not working correctly. So I move it from it's precarious spot on top of microwave which was on top of tiny refrigerator to see if it would work on a flat surface...ie: dining table. Nope...couldn't plug it in because most of the plugs I tried were blown out. So tried bathroom. Nope. So no coffee either. and no blow dryer or anything else except tiny soap. slow water got us back at 1 and to our room at 1:20 where we were greeted by a text basically telling us we were disrespectful for being back two hours after check out. But wait...she said it was ok! we had to wait for the other room to be cleaned anyways so...where were we supposed to put our valuables and belongings at 6 a.m. in the morning? locked in a car at a launch dock for hours in the sun? No...she waived the checkout time so we could accomplish this. But not today! No sir! Yesterday she said she wanted to make us happy. But Today We were bad people. And she let us know it by not only renting out our promised room in the lodge with the view but also by renting out the room we were staying in and had already paid for! and copped a bad attitude towards us and said she felt nothing she had would be good enough for us. So she basically took away our room! and told us to leave! at 2 pm out in the boonies...wtf????? Wow. good way to blow someone's high on their vacation. Would not call us back, would not come in person to discuss, simply said she was driving and couldn't call...but could text us anger and being thrown out of our room after a 7 hour trip on the river...we needed sleep, food and kindness. We aren't jerks...far from it. So needless to say, will NEVER go back...and btw...the owner was called...her name is Liz...and she was also too much of a coward to call her guests back. Just decided to refund all our money (small kindness acknowledged) and throw us out. Nice. Karma ladies...karma. And I'm not talking a bad review. Karma has a way...and has nothing to do with us as it appears many have had issues before with downright bad bad management. Janet...are you listening? included a picture of the pile of crap we had as our view since the beautiful cliffs were simply up to our imagination. UPDATE: OH and Janet...your response is completely untruthful and inaccurate. We were polite and asked very nicely to change our accommodations. Everything I said was true. You were the bullying, threatening person in this equation. And you trying to project it onto me is not ok.

I cannot recommend this lodge enough. it is the perfect place to get away from the annoyances of everyday city life. The hosts are exceptionally warm and make you feel totally at ease upon check-in. If you're looking for a great place to stay at the Grand Canyon, look no further.

Loved our stay here!!! One of the highlights of our trip. It is truly a special place with the most spectacular sunsets and sunrises. I loved sitting outside on the patio and having a drink with the mountains in the background. Janet was quick to respond and the rooms were very clean with comfy beds. There is also very good cell service (5 bars). Just a 15 minute drive down to the Lee's Ferry Boat Ramp, so it was perfect for our 6am kayak trip. Can't wait to come back!

The motel accommodations are nothing fancy but quite adequate. Clean rooms with plenty of hot water, warm bed to sleep in. We ate dinner and breakfast at the grill. The food was amazing. Large portions, great selection of beers, but the best part was the staff. Super friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about the area!

Nice quaint small lodge in beautiful Marble Canyon @ Lees Ferry Glenn Canyon. Beautiful night skies.

We arrived at 4pm and I did get a little confused with the finding the mile sign but that was our fault. Baya & paul sent us directions that were pretty direct but if your not good with directions I can see how it may be difficult. Paul & Baya are very pleasant people, very kind and want to make sure you have the best stay possible. The bell tent: amazing! Really spacious especially since it was just the two of us. The blankets & sleeping bags they provided were perfect. It was a bit cold out but we slept more than fine. Inside they provided a few things and it was really sweet because they left a bunny pez candy (Easter weekend) and candles. The dogs hey have didn't bother us one bit, big love bugs. The property: BEAUTIFUL! Baya let us know we could adventure wherever we wanted. There is a porta potty. It was clean and did not smell. They provided us with bathing water. Note: this is a bird bath not a full on shower & it's a bucket of water. For us that was fine because we only stayed one night. ALSO! The stars at night are absolutely breathtaking! If you can get a couple photos (camera familiar people) take advantage. In the morning Baya brought us coffee & a traditional breakfast. Blue corn porridge! It was very yummy with fruit and honey also. We will be returning this summer when it's a little warmer and a little less windy. THANK YOU AGAIN PAUL & BAYA & little Bridgette ( sorry for the spelling if wrong) for letting us be your neighbors for the night. It was a very beautiful experience.

Cliff Dwellers Lodge - Inside the renovated double queen room

    Cliff Dwellers Lodge

    (40 reviews)

Stayed a few nights here in August on both ends of a rafting/camping trip through the Grand Canyon…read more I had an excellent stay both times - very comfortable and clean rooms, wonderfully warm staff, decent prices, and an incredible location inside the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument! It's a bit of a remote location (which I loved) but the lodge has everything you could possibly need - a really great on-site restaurant, general store, gas station, and they even do their own guided fishing trips and kayak rentals complete with backhaul drop offs to a launch point of your choice. And even though you're a bit of a captive audience, their prices are surprisingly pretty reasonable - even for the gas! The lodge is currently split into two sections - one has been recently renovated and one hasn't. I stayed in a double queen room in the renovated section and a single king room in the non-renovated section. Both rooms were spotlessly clean and very cozy - but I definitely prefer the renovated rooms - simply because they have a superior bathroom layout/shower - The shower in the non-renovated room was very rudimentary- almost like one you'd find in an RV - and there was very little counterspace. And the TVs include an option to log into your streaming apps to watch your fave shows. But the beds were both very comfortable in both rooms - the mattresses felt very supportive but not overly hard - seemed like temperpedic quality. The decor in the renovated rooms is very desert-cowboy-chic - but the non-renovated room was super retro - more like a 70s spaghetti western style lol. There are refrigerators and Keurig coffee makers in all the rooms - renovated and non-renovated alike. All the rooms have outside patio seating but it's not private. I was next to the restaurant in the non-renovated room and was worried it might be too loud but I didn't hear a thing - it was peaceful and quiet! Speaking of the restaurant- the food is absolutely fantastic! I ate two dinners here and a breakfast and loved it all. They also have a unique dessert - avocado pie! Highly recommend! Everything here is family owned and all the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and fully intend to return bc there's SO much to explore in the area - especially if you love the desert outdoors!

By far the best aspect of the lodge was the guide we hired to help us fish Lees Ferry. His name was Shane and he was incredibly experienced. It was my first time fly fishing and he taught me to cast, mend, and set the hook. We caught more fish before noon than I did on my last fishing trip. Shane knew every spot to visit to get the trout biting. The food at the lodge was also incredible. I ate one of the best patty melts I've had and the breakfast burritos hit the spot before a fishing trip. I also can't give the sweet potato fries high enough praise. They had the perfect amount of crunch and salt I look for in a fry with that same sweet potato taste. If you stop in; try the avocado pie! The lodge is absolutely worth a visit. Stay a night, try out the restaurant, try to book Shane if you can, and fish until your arm gets tired!

Not to say that it was bad... in a lot of ways, it was quite nice... just that you're either going to love it or hate it. If you travel to meet new people, love to socialize, and want to feel like you're staying with family (and don't think it's weird to hang out in the living room while the grandkids watch cartoons)... you'll love the place. If, however, you like to have some personal space to spread out where you can relax and do your own thing... you'll hate it. Jim & Verde are incredibly warm and welcoming. As hosts, do their very best to make sure you have anything and everything you could possibly dream of during your stay. When we arrived Jim sat us down, gave us a map and a rundown of all the things to see and do in Page. It was nice to have someone willing to share knowledge of the area and make recommendations (though, frankly I found Yelp reviews to be more helpful at times). After a 45-minute brief on everything you could possibly need to know in a town of 7,247 along with a brief summary of his life, Jim showed us to our room and helped us with our bags. Our room was small but the bed was comfortable and we slept well the 2 nights we were there. That was except for being woken-up at 5:00am by one of their visiting young grandchildren screaming "MOM!!!!!!" outside our window (which we had open at night to keep cool, but which also left us listening to all the noise back and forth between the driveway and the front door as people came and went). Getting ready in the morning was a bit of a challenge as there were about 6-7 people sharing essentially 1 (very small) downstairs bathroom. (Think college dorm life and you'll be fine). I did not grown up in a big family and am not used to sharing a bathroom with so many people. If we'd only had one other room to share it with, it may not have been so bad, but this was just too much for me. There is the option to use the master bath on the upper floor, but it is directly off the kitchen where guests are busy eating breakfast, so the notion of trying to sh*t, shower and shave in such close proximity to people eating was undesirable at best. Not to mention, who wants to then have to walk through the house, past the front door, and down the hall in a towel. (I'm guessing I'm not alone in this thought as I never saw anyone use the upstairs bathroom). Breakfast was a very social affair (which is not good for those of us non-morning people who have zero interest in talking before at least 2 cups of coffee). Apparently the pancakes are very good (said my husband), but I passed instead to go out and photograph the sunrise. I did think it was very nice that Jim & Verde are willing to prepare breakfast at whatever time you would like it and not on a set schedule. On the flip side, however, I felt a lot like a rebellious teenager who missed curfew when we strolled in around midnight and were greeted with Jim asking a bunch of questions about where we went and what we did. It felt a bit like an interrogation and, as I'm a fairly private person (especially with people I've only just met a few hours earlier) I didn't feel like it was anyone else's business what I did on my vacation. If you're a social, open-book, share-anything type of person, you'll probably love chatting with Jim. (Grab a 6-pack and take a seat). He's very friendly and talkative. However, not everyone is like this, so if you're more reserved like me, you'll find this comes across rather overbearing even if his heart is in the right place. You can tell Jim & Verde have the best intentions in taking excellent care of all of their guests. Their affection for entertaining is evident. If I had stayed with them as long-time friends, I might have been delighted by the experience. But that's not why I came to Page. I came to explore canyons and lakes on a relaxing, romantic vacation. As a paying guest of a B&B there is a different expectation than of friends or family. It felt less like I was paying $100+ per night for a getaway at a B&B, and more like I was crashing in a friend's downstairs guest room sharing a bathroom with the roommates. Some people are fine with this; some are not. Rose Walk Inn is more accurately a family home with rooms to rent on a nightly basis. You are staying with a family... and, at times, their very large extended family. The term B&B implies (and in many localities, requires) guest accommodations which are definitively separated from family quarters (dining areas, bathrooms, etc). In this home, everything is shared. I would recommend this place for families, especially those with small children. I would not recommend it for couples, solo or business travelers.
