Seriously, only 3 reviews so far for one of the largest natural bridges? This place is difficult to…read moreget to. The easiest is to take a 2 hour boat tour/ride and it will take you to about a mile's hike to the bridge. Not the easiest natural bridge to get to but would be worth it when you get there. It is a sacred bridge to the Navajo Indians so you are requested not to walk under or approach the arch. Might be better to go in the evening, because sunlight does not fall on it in the morning from the viewing area and you are not heavily pressured to respect tribal custom and not walk under the bridge and take pictures from the other side. Don't even think about walking around it, since that would be walking off the trail and the fine is $25,000, if you are caught.

Many people stop once they get to the arch, but it's worth the little extra hike farther in to get a view of the other side. You may even get better lighting for picture taking depending on time of day. There are bathrooms by the dock. Make sure you bring enough water, wear comfortable shoes and put on sunscreen; no dogs allowed because it's just too hot for your little buddies. Fun fact: there's a dinosaur print by the base of the arch. A little pour of water may reveal it better...

We really enjoyed Captain Elaine's narration and we learned so much. This tour is strictly a journey to the Glen Canyon Dam to get you up close and back. Most of the journey is in a no wake zone, that's why it takes 90 minutes. The canyon you travel through is beautiful and quiet. The boat is basic. The main level is enclosed and air conditioned and has comfortable seats. There is a restroom on board. They provide complimentary water and lemonade but I did not have any. The second/top level is open and standing only - no seats. While you can see everything from the first level, we enjoyed being on the top to really see all the views unobstructed. There isn't any shade on the top level so be sure to have sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Again, most of the trip is at no wake speed but there were a few spots where we went about 10 mph. It was sunny, no clouds, no wind and about 75 degrees during our 10:30 AM tour. You check in for the tour inside Lake Powell Resort. They take you down to the marina in extended golf carts. That was great because it would have been a long walk down and a very steep walk back. After the tour we enjoyed a coffee and pastry from the Wind Coffee Cafe.

For those hard of hearing, they wouldn't have been able to hear at all. A naturalist on deck explaining the history, sites, etc. would have been much more informative and interactive. How hard would it have been to have someone with a microphone pointing out sites and answering questions?? The scenery was lovely, but we were disappointed with the lack of narration. There wasn't much of it, and what was said couldn't be heard anyway.

Our 7-day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon with Wilderness River Adventures (June 12-18) was…read morean experience my kids (Elise and Jake) and I will never forget. From start to finish, it was everything we hoped for--and so much more. The scenery was, of course, jaw-dropping. Towering canyon walls, hidden waterfalls, star-filled skies--it felt like stepping into another world. But what made the trip truly exceptional were our guides. Billy and Lori led one boat, and Kale and Hollywood the other. These four didn't just steer us through the rapids--they brought the river to life. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the geology, history, and wildlife of the canyon. Their storytelling kept us all engaged, and their cooking? Surprisingly fantastic for a remote river trip--think fresh fruit, fish tacos, fajitas, smoked salmon, guacamole, and even brownies one night! Elise, Jake, and I have all done trips like this before--this was my fourth, and their second--and we agreed this was one of the best. The guides struck the perfect balance between adventure and comfort, creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere while keeping everything running smoothly and safely. Wilderness River Adventures runs a tight, professional operation with just the right amount of laid-back charm. If you're looking for a meaningful, memory-making adventure with your family, this is it.
