On our way to Whitmore International Helipad

This was an amazing trip! I highly recommend putting this trip on your bucket list! The views of the canyon, the history, seeing rocks that were billions of years old, experiencing the rapids, doing the side hikes, swimming in the LCR, hiking Havasu, the river guides, the food they provided and the new friends we met. All of it, made this trip the best of our lifetime. I initially communicated and booked my trip with Advantage Grand Canyon (AGC) who helped connect me with the Arizona River Runner (ARR). I guess you could call AGC the Cupid of the Grand Canyon because our river guides at Arizona River Runners and the group I ended up with was a perfect match for my boyfriend and I. Prior to the trip ARR sent lots of informative emails as far as packing lists and what to expect. They totally prepared us for our trip. They also have a group page that you can post introductions on, to see who you will be traveling with. You basically have to follow the packing list and show up. They did all the rest! My boyfriend and I were amongst a total of 24 travelers on this trip. Our group consisted of age groups between 30 to late 50's, we even had a sweet, adventurous 86 year old couple. We chose the 6 day full canyon motor trip. I think it was the best choice for us. We got to experience rapids rated up to level 10, we saw the best views of the canyon, we hiked to a 180 foot tall waterfall, swam and saw the beauty of the turquoise colored Little Colorado River, and hiked along Havasu Creek. Our river guides provided us with coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner! As a part of the group we helped carry our bags on and off the raft and set up our own cots and camp area. It was a pleasure to be camping out there and not have to work as hard as a our river guides did. The one thing that I really enjoyed was seeing how passionate our river guides were about the canyon, the river, rafting, the environment, and the stories and history of the canyon. The excitement and passion in their voices as they told the canyons history and geology showed us their love for the place and their job. Our river guides were Rachel, Amanda, Katie and Noah. They did an excellent job with making this trip worthwhile. I can't think of anything negative to say about ARR. My entire trip experience was phenomenal! If I was rich I would pay for all my friends and do this trip again. TIP #1: Follow their suggested packing list!! Even if you don't think you'll need them, it's highly recommended that you follow their list. TIP #2: Bring 2-3x more then the alcohol you normally drink.... Trust me. The river makes it flow thru you like water. TIP #3: Sunscreen and lots of lotion (Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream works best). TIP #4: Bring cash to tip your awesome river guides at the end of the trip. Trust me, they've earned it! I'm at home in Hawaii writing this review. My sunburn has healed, my dry skin subsided and my weight is falling back off. However, the memories made on this trip will last me my lifetime. Thank you Arizona River Runners for such a wonderful experience!

Our Expedition Leader Kenny and his team Zach, Holly and Walker were excellent!

The best River Rafting company! Expedition Leader Kenny was exceptional. He and his team are passionate about the canyon. Zach, our boatman was the best. We loved his storytelling . My trip was the most challenging and exhilarating of my life! If you want to be one of the few people who really experience The Grand Canyon, you MUST go with ARR.

This review is about HAVASUPAI BG WILD and not the majestical Havasupai Falls…read more This was by far the worse backpacking adventure I've ever been on. Save your money, research and anyone can do this on their own. I had to request an itinerary months after i paid in full. I had a few follow up questions because the itinerary that was emailed had conflicting instructions from the instructions posted on their website. It took an unreasonable amount of time for someone to respond to my email and I was told that the person designated was having family issues. The first day of arrival our guide text us around 7am to let us know that he wouldn't be starting with us, that he would catch up or fly in. I didn't understand why he sent out a text since we were not suppose to meet him until 10am. We were supposed to meet our guide at the tourist office for a meet and greet but also (more importantly) to give us our permits, but he never showed up. Some of us were stopped by a ranger on a horse because we didn't have the wristband permits that were supposed to be given to us by the guide. The ranger was nice but he still asked for my name and permit. I told him that I was with bgwild and our guide hadn't shown up and he said it was unacceptable that Cole hadn't given us our permits. Fast forward. It's now 11am and I'm at the campsite and I still have not met the guide. Another ranger named Erwin came over to the table where I was sitting and asked for my permit. I started asking around and no one had met our guide. This is a very long story so let me get to the point. This was a 2day/1 night traditional trip so in my opinion there was no room for error. We didn't meet our guide until 5:30pm. I prepaid to have my pack transported by helicopter sling and i didn't get it until 6:15. Which meant I had no food from 12-6:15p when my pack arrived, no swimsuit, no shoes or a change of clothes to continue the hike to Mooney and beaver falls. I would've carried my swimsuit and food had I been informed. I was under the impression that my pack would meet me there. There were no details given about what to expect in the itinerary or on their website. Even if I believe that Cole waited 5 hours for a helicopter and that the Natives were to blame for his tardiness, that means he didn't get to the trailhead until noon. He was supposed to greet us at the tourist office at 10am so he still was 2 hours late getting to the trailhead by his own admission. He arrived at the campsite around 5:30. When Cole finally arrived he didn't even apologize. A simple "I'm sorry for the delay" would've made the experience a little better but he immediately went into to defense mode. I'm sure we looked pissed when he walked up because he immediately started blaming the natives. This wasn't cool at all. Accept responsibility for your actions and stop blaming ppl for your tardiness. To date no one has apologized. I'm a member of a travel group on social media with over 376k members AND WILL SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!

Just know that part of the trail is unpaved with switchbacks and steep grades, so take your time and make sure you're comfortable driving those kinds of roads.
