Best donuts ever! We were there early and had the honey dip donuts that were warm and melted in my mouth! We tried some others, but nothing compared to the honey dip. We also had a crepe that was yummy. They have bags of day old donuts for $2 which is a really good deal. So if you're debating what to try, the honey dip is a must! read more

So I don't like donuts, at all. I've been critiscized for it for years. I went to buy these for some friends and the fiance though, and was so tempted to try one. so I devoured a honey dip all by myself, moaning when harry met sally style the whole time. and then my girlfriend and I proceeded to take a bite out of every single one of the dozen donuts we purchased. Words can not describe these donuts. They are perfection in a little sweet treat. the donuts that even donut haters gotta love. read more

I freaking finally got my donut! After six long months of holding out for the right one! Minh and I were hanging out in the touristy Granville Island (which has a lot to see, do, and eat too) we were wondering through the market when I heard those magical words "Do you want to get a donut"? I did not even have to blink an eye before I answered "Where/When/Now." We walked over to their little shop located somewhere in the indoor public market. Line was not too long, but it was also a little confusing as well. A couple of parents were standing next to the counter with a bag full of donuts talking to each other from the looks of it, they might have already bought their goods and were probably just catching up and didn't realize they were standing in the would be line. So I decided to get out of the "line" and stand more by the register. A couple more people came up and actually cut in front of me (what the...) okay looking for some type of sign to where the line could or would start that's when I saw it by the cash register area. "Line forms to the left." Okay so back in the line we went, and waited. Finally, one of the counter girls asked the party in front of us if they already ordered, to which the mom in the group said no. She put the brown bag full of donuts on the counter then orders some more (finding out later the brown bag are day old donuts sold at a discounted price.. Sweet!) Finally, it was our turn. The girl behind the counter was friendly as I told her it was our first time and what is the most popular donuts (Mango, Honey dip, cinnamon sugar just to name a few). She also mentioned that they rotate their donuts daily and only the popular ones stay while they introduce new ones. I decided on ordering a Honey Dipped donut. Prices are not too bad and the donuts are big and fresh! We took ours to go and sat outside by the water to enjoy our treats. One bite and I was hooked. Warm, fluffy non-greasy donut with a touch of honey dancing in my mouth! By the blink of two eyes, it was gone and all that was left was sticky fingers and a sugar high that lasted for most of the day! read more

Lee's Donuts - Honey Dipped Donut! - Donuts Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Evidently Stan's Donuts of Santa Clara, CA has spoiled me for all other donuts http://www.yelp.ca/biz/stans-donut-shop-santa-clara . I had heard about Lee's warm honey-glazed and was hoping to have the taste transport me back to Stan's. Well it didn't. If I had one fresh out of the fryer I might have had a more favourable opinion but frankly the one I had from the rack I thought shared a lot of similarities with a Safeways donut, but for twice the price. The filled donut was not good at all. The outside had an overabundance of sugar and the inside only contained about a tablespoon of filling. I think 4 bites is a bit much to take before you even realize that you have a filled doughnut. I would try a honey-glazed again if it were warm, but otherwise it is just a pass for me. read more

The line was long but moves quite fast. Sadly, there wasn't any glazed donuts left so I got the donut holes instead. There wasn't anything especially different or memorable - just a good, tasty old-fashioned donut. It may have been even better fresh and warm? Cash only. read more

Finally got around to checking out a Vancouver favourite fix. Definitely a mom and pop place and that is a nice touch. Friendly staff to boot! Now for the taste. Tried out their famous honey dip and while it was slightly warm and tasty it still does not live up to the famous Krispy Creme. The real difference is the glaze which KK has down to a fine art. My boyfriend is the real donut monster and he really liked the chocolate glazed which were twice the size of Tim Hortons. Overall was glad I checked out the hype but consider it pretty hard to touch Krispy Kreme, especially honey glazed. Where as I would not go out of my way to go here again, I would make it a point to go back to KK time and time again. read more

The donuts are amazing!! Dare I say even better than Krispy Kremes. They've got the super soft, chewy texture but aren't too sickening sweet. We had the chocolate dipped and the regular honey dip and they were both so fluffy and amazingly delicous. Highly highly recommend these read more

Oh so good.... Get in line it goes fast. They have a great selection of donuts. They vary in type, size, and flavor. The donut holes are a perfect snack to get if you plan on sampling your way through the market. I was planning on doing some sampling so I got a few donut holes and a few donuts; fat and calories were totally worth it. read more

For people who are obsessed with comparing these donuts to Krispy Kreme, get out. These are not processed light goodness full of empty calories - I can eat 3 Krispy Kremes, feeling sick afterwards yet still not full. If you want a SATISFYING and DELICIOUS and homemade tasting donut, that's still warm from the oven, go here. I can't go into the Market without buying a donut for my kid. Best place ever. read more

We purchased a chocolate, marble and honey. I enjoyed my chocolate, my boyfriend seemed to enjoy his marble and the bite I took of the honey was good too. Nothing to really write home about, but a nice little treat if you're in the public market. Can I skip them next time..? Yes, I probably can. read more

I've been going to Granville Island for years. I live in the 'hood (I think I've earned the right on many levels to use the word "'hood"), but a friend finally convinced me to try one of Lee's finest. This isn't Timmy's Ho's, which I thought was the pinnacle of deep fried clumps of dough. This is better. So after looking over the selection, I chose a filled ball of batter . . . but what flavour to compliment the layer of sugar that coats the outside? Hmmmm, I loves me my tarty goodness so I go for a lemon filled doughnut. What a treat. "No miss, I'm not hitting on your daughter. I'm puckering because I just had a Lee's lemon filled . . . please try one for yourself before you slap me back to Terra Breads." Well, what really came out was "wamaaafaaammmewaawbbaaaaaaa." I got slapped anyway. That pretty much says it all. A flavour so intense I couldn't talk right. What else would make me speechless? Hmmmmmm. Orgasmalicious. read more

Four for creativity, two for execution. While on Granville Island I was able to try the following donuts: Honey Dew, Mango Madness, and Coconut Cream. What I got were soft, sugar-dusted donuts that were quite fluffy. Unfortunately, the Honey Dew had no honey dew flavor -- it just tasted like a regular normal donut. The coconut cream had very little cream and all bread, which is disappointing when it's a filled donut. Of the three donuts, the Mango Madness was perhaps the best because it actually had filling AND the mango packed a nice punch. I think Lee's Donuts is alright price-wise (3 donuts for $5) -- it was also fun to watch them make donuts through their window front, but I am not sure if I would make a trip to Granville Island specifically for it. read more

So Lee's Donuts will destroy Tim Horton's in the donut throw down (more like donut beat down, holla) Fresh fresh fresh is what comes to mind when I think of Lee's as all of the donuts, mufins, and fritters are made that way. As one Yelper said with the $2 bags of donuts grab them while you can. It's a hodgepodge of mixed ones in the bag but they are fabulous and they freeze them too so they stay cool while you shop around the island. All of the donuts are superb as I have tried most of them and I reccomend them all but the ones that surprised me the most were the huge apple fritters, cinnamon buns, and jumbo muffins that Elaine from Seinfeld would love as it's a lot of top of the muffin. The line does get long at times but it's worth the wait read more

2$ bag of donuts. The listed price baffled me as I passed by Lee's Donuts, scurrying quickly in an attempt not to succumb to the temptation of their treats. However, when I saw this sign that read "2$ bag" above a basket filled with humungous clear bags with about 15 medium-sized donuts cuddling within, I had to stop and check whether this too-good-to-be-true offer actually stood true. Indeed the hefty bag of goodies cost just over a toonie, and I scored a bag of 15 or so fresh-smellin' donuts and left with a smile on my face. The staff were patient and friendly with me despite my doubtful questioning. Lesson learned was to take advantage of these occasional amazing sales, for they yield exceptionally delicious results. Let's just say those donuts didn't last long... It was Game Over once I informed my roommates and brought them home that day. read more

There is literally no donut that can even come close to the beautiful, creamy, fluffy, light, perfectly and not over sweetened sweetness, and warm, delicious bite that takes you to another world. Krispy Kreme's freshest, cheapest donuts as well as Pink Box or any local donut are put to shame by this. Great prices. The honey dip is the best of them all. The others are great, but this one, when warm, is the best donut you'll have, by far. read more

I have a severe sweet tooth (heck, pretty much ALL of my teeth are sweet teeth) and I love donuts. Lee's Donuts has some of the best donuts I have ever had in my life. I want to plan another trip to Canada just so I can eat more of these! I went with the original honey dipped donut hot from the oven. They are reminiscent of Krispy Kreme but so much bigger and better. I even bought an extra one to eat for breakfast the next day and even leftover it was awesome. Go here if you love donuts, you will not be disappointed. It's worth the wait to get a hot, fresh yummy donut as it comes off the line. Just stroll around the market and wait for it. read more

I finally had to check this place out after hearing that this place has the best donuts in Vancouver. If you do a cost comparison to Tim Hortons, it costs $1.99 for 10 timbits or $2.50 for 6 donut holes. However, Lee's donut holes were lighter, cakier, and much more enjoyable (especially since you know they weren't made at a central location and trucked to the store *couchTimmyscough*). I wish they offered more donut hole flavors than 6, but all of the ones I tried were fantastic. Our out-of-town friends enjoyed them too! As a side note, I was told to try the Honeydew donut. The donut itself was great, but I definitely didn't get a strong honeydew flavor. It might have been too subtle for my tastebuds. Maybe your tastebuds will be different? I have to try more donut places before I can give Lee's Donuts the crown for best donuts in Vancouver, but the donuts here are great! read more

I love donuts, LOVE THEM. I liked the variety they had here, and opted for a Peanut donut - ( Tim Hortons has peanut crunch donuts for years until every kid on earth had a peanut allergy, and they pulled them off the shelves). The donut as I expected was a cake donut - light and fresh, but seriously overpriced. I have to give Lee's a 2 because the staff were terrible. Apathetic and borderline rude. The donut was ok - the service was bad. Cheer up ladies - donuts are supposed to make people happy. read more

I must have gone on an off day, because everytime I talk about going to Granville Island I have at least one person go, "Oh man have you been to Lee's Donuts? They're the best!" Well eventually I got tired of hearing this, and had a hankering for a donut anyway, so decided to head down, walk around a bit and satisfy my donut craving. Ordered the regular glazes, bit in expecting something wonderful and...letdown. Nothing special or unusually fresh tasting...I've had better at Timmy Ho's. I can't fathom why this should be, I must be missing something here. I'm gonna have to do some investigating and head back down to try another flavour. Until then, I'm sorry Lee's but I'll have to get my donut fix elsewhere. read more

Freshly made and crispy. A little oily but has the right amount of glaze. Line doesn't last too long.

I tried these donuts on a recent visit and their honey dip donut was maybe the greatest donut I've ever had: warm, obviously homemade with love, and tasted like fried dough from a carnival memory. Their maple iced donuts wasn't half-bad, either. read more

I like this donut place. It's a basic donut but done very well. Made fresh at the store. What more can I ask for. Nice that it's in the market at Granville island. Can pick up donuts when I buy my groceries read more

A couple of weeks ago I had some friends visit from back home (Los Angeles). We stopped in here and each got a donut. OMG! It was so good! Their donuts reminded me of donuts from back home! I had a double chocolate. Highly recommend this place if you ever visit Granville island! I'll be back! read more

Spent $1.50CAD to try two of the donut holes since we were stuffed elsewhere from wandering the market; we found them to be fairly basic tasting. Cashless joint, so definitely make sure you have cards on you before buying stuff. Cashier was nice enough to give us some directions about where the taxi line was. read more

These classic donuts are the real deal! I had the classic jelly donut with jam in the middle and a crunchy sugar coating. The jam middle was still warm inside and the sugar was crunchy and the donut was soft. This donut was better than anything I've had at Lucky's or Cartems. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth and my donut craving. I'll be back, Lee's! read more

Lee's Donuts - Possibly the best jelly donut I've ever had! Warm on the inside and crunchy sugar on the outside. YUM! - Donuts Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

If Lee's was a chain, Timmy's would be put out of business. I always pick the yeasted doughnuts and the honey dip is always great but the piece de resistance is the jelly. It is not filled with the usual corn starch based concoction you find elsewhere, it is the real thing in there! Nobody beats these jelly doughnuts. Friendly service, always fresh warm doughnuts coming out and it's right by the door so you can nip in and grab half a dozen in no time. Now I really want one... read more

Best donuts i have had in Vancouver so far, they were fresh, the right amount of chewiness and sweetness. Plus i appreciate they are charging what a donut its worth, not a whooping $4+ they charge you in some places here. Bring cash they don't take credit. read more

Been coming here since grade school... Certainly the best donuts (honey-glazed) in town even compared to KK (Is it still around ?) and of course way better than Tim's (its mindless devotion boggles the mind) There is a modest selection of donuts and they also make crepes as well read more

THE best donuts I can find in this entire region of the continent. Back in the day, before people slapped frosting on bread/cake and called it a donut (looking at YOU, Top Pot Seattle), or put watery runny glaze on top of mass produced donuts, donuts were made the way Lee's makes them today. If you get there around 10-11 am, you can get fresh and hot donuts out of the oven. These have the soft and savory texture of a real, honest to goodness donut and they're warm. Come here and have a real donut that will make you swear off the nonsense other people fraudulently sell you as donuts forever. read more

Took a ferry over from Yaletown to Granville Island. Lees donuts are in the main food market. What a sweet smell it has! These are traditional handmade donuts. You can even watch them making the donuts just outside the door. This isn't a trendy donut place but rather an old school classic donut shop. They have many varieties to choose from. We settled on the jelly (which was warm!) and the sprinkled! Both were delicious...it was hard to only have one each! Definitely try this place and make the trip to the charming market! read more

Overall I thought just ok. Good but nothing special. Tried many but honey dip was probably my favorite.

These donuts are really good!! I tried the honey dipped donut and the honey dew donut, both were really good. Not too sweet, not oily and still had a little bit of a crunch. Remember to bring a card with your, they are a cashless business. I would definitely go here again! read more

Hmmm, not sure I get the hype. Had the Coconut Cream. Dough was moist and dense, but not the biggest fan unfortunately. Filling was ok, didn't really taste like coconut. Superrrr sweet. It was quite large, and I almost didn't want to finish it. $1.90/ea after tax. Maybe I should've gotten the much-raved Honey Dipped?!?! FYI - $0.25 surcharge for using card machine. read more

"All you have to do is ask!" This was the response to my pitiful expression of disappointment when I saw that the Bavarian cream rack was empty. their famous honey-glazed is absolutely the best in town, only when they're just fresh from the oven, so heavenly soft & just the right sweetness--though i dont mind more ;) the only best time though is when they just making their rounds, usually 11am & 2pm, as i call in to make sure. sometimes they run out by 3pm! Last time had tried to buy a dozen but out of luck. also enjoy their jelly ones too, sure don't skimp out ;) read more

Pretty good donuts, the style of preparation makes the donuts soft and appetizing. I did try the vanilla and cinnamon crunch and it goes well with coffee or tea. Come here if you are a donut fan. We enjoyed the donuts; the dough is what makes these donuts good. The staff were impatient and unpleasant.

Decided to try the place after seeing them in a Netflix show. It didn't dissapoint. If the price point was cheaper, it'd be a 5. The best donut in WA is supposed to be Krispy Kreme, but I think this would beat it if they became a chain. read more
