Good, but not knock-your-socks-off good. I'm not sure what is the big hype here. Yes, the doughnuts are fluffy and made from yeast but they're also not any better (ok, they're slightly better but not once you throw in the cost variable) than Krispy Kreme if I'm being 100% honest. Go to say you've been or when there's not a tremendous line. read more

A classic basic doughnut experience. We were having lunch in the market and a table over I saw this very chic woman with a box of these donuts. It looked really good so I hunted them down. Saw a line with at least 30 people on a Sunday afternoon. No thanks! But as we were staying on the Island I trekked over for a breakfast treat and there was no line on a Monday morning. I got the honey dipped, lemon filled and the giant one with chocolate on top. It weighed at least a pound so I assumed it had a filling. Nope. Just a huge shoe sized flotilla of fairly dense chewy dough with sticky runny chocolat-y frosting. Hence minus 1 star. This one didn't do it for me. Other selections: Honey dipped is a traditional glazed raised doughnut. Really good, yeasty and dense but chewy. The problem is the glaze cracks into flakes and you are soon showered in glaze chunks as if you have been scaling a delicious sweet fish. No discernible honey flavor, but good, not too sweet. The lemon filled was the star of the show! Adding the filling inside made the doughnut lighter, not overly sweet and covered in granulated sugar. I'd definitely go back, if the line wasn't too long. read more

Located inside the Granville market and close to one of the entrances, it took me some time to find. Long line up but moved up quickly. I got the strawberry cream cheese donut ($2) and no more needs to be said. Best donut I've had!! My friends got the frozen donuts, probably from the day before. It was $4 per bag of 10 donuts, and mostly melted to room temperature already. Really good deal and not bad donuts too. read more

Atmosphere: it's a little stand in the granville island market so its bustling, crowded, and noisy. No place to sit to have your treat. Expect a line Service: The poor cashier seemed overworked and exhausted. She wasnt by any means rude, just seemed tired. She did her job fine though. Long john: Listen, this is UNNECESSARILY big. If they made this smaller, decreased the thickness of the dough and made the chocolate less sweet itd greatly improve the value. I loved that the dough was nice and golden on the outside and very fluffy inside. There ratio of dough to chocolate glaze was just way off. My friend is obsessed with their mango one though. Overall: 3.5/5 rounded up to 4 because I dont usually come back to visit 3/5 ratings unless nothing was around but i remember having a good donut another time (years ago) of a Lee's donut so I am willing to come back to try another one. read more

The mango doughnuts are incredible! fried, covered in crystallized sugar. 5/5 The peanut doughnut is very cake like. I'm not a fan of cake doughnuts so I wouldn't get it again. Wish the doughnut was more peanut tasting. 3/5 read more

Lineup outside on BC day moved quickly. They had lots of selection and you can tell this is a popular place. Everyone seemed to be carrying a yellow box of donuts. I only come here once a year so it's worth the price. read more

It was a super long line to get these donuts and we loved it. So fresh and goes well with hot latte. read more

I don't understand the hype. I got 3 donuts: one powder, one cinnamon and one peanut donut. All 3 were mediocre.

Stumbled upon this place one early morning at Granville Island. Definitely don't regret trying it. Delicious strawberry, chocolate and powdered donuts. read more

Decent donuts. The jelly donuts were the best of the dozen assorted that we got. The yeast glazed donuts are a 7/10. If you're serious about donuts, the Mountain Barn Cafe in Creston BC blows these out of the water. read more

YUM! The both times that I visited Grandville Island, I had stopped by here to get some donuts. I highly recommend the honey dipped donuts and anything custard. And if you like cake batter donuts, I recommend getting the donut holes. read more

First time trying this place. A small hidden gem in Granville island! Got the apple donut ($2+tax) and it was sooooo nommy! I never knew about this place until my recent trip to Granville island! The donut was soft and fluffy! The apple filling has the perfect amount of sweetness (not too sweet)! A perfect snack to eat while walking around the market! I will need to go back to try other donuts! CASH ONLY though. read more

SO YUM! Get the honey cruller. If you like delicious fresh donuts, you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been going to this place for years and at one time gave it a 5 star review. They used to have a really well textured donut with exceptional taste balance. I used to but donuts here frequently because of their light texture. The sugar level was also not as high as other donut shops. Not it seems Lees donuts has gone mainstream. Donuts are oily/greasy and leave a bad taste. They're also not as light anymore, they feel like you're eating something heavy. Shame because I would say that these used to be some of the best donuts in Vancouver. read more

Got a jelly donut at the end of the day, which is risky business anyway because generally baked goods are made in the morning, so I had pretty low expectations. It was delicious!! Highly recommend if you happen to be in the market and are looking for a sweet snack read more

Used to be good but I think the old owners sold it to new people. They are now greasy and tasteless. It's a shame. They were the best.

Super friendly staff. The donuts are awesome! We had mini glazed jelly filled that was 10", huge, and the filling is fantastic. Also tried holes, honey glazed, chocolate iced, jelly filled bismark, pumpkin, and cinnamon. Fast, fresh, really tasty. A must try in the market place. read more

I tried the sugar donut and oh my gosh it was one the best tasting sugar donuts I've ever had. It was so fresh and soft with just the perfect amount of sugar on it. If you're in the area you need to give them a try! read more

Lee's is among many Vancouverite's favorite donut shops in the city and even though it's not the most glamorous spot they do make quality treats. Lee's makes their donuts fresh throughout the day but they run out quite quickly so if you're lucky enough to get them when the donuts are fresh then I'm sure you'd enjoy these. Prices range from $2 - $6 and there's a good variety. Personally I do enjoy the dough but the donuts overall aren't anything special unless they've JUST been made. If you're at Granville Island and want something sweet and doughy then this is the place for you but I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to get here. read more

The honey dipped donut was delicious! I'm usually not a fan of donuts, but this one was perfect. Every bite was met with a crispy exterior, warm and fluffy dough on the inside, and the right amount of sweetness. Will definitely make this a stop on my next visit! read more

Best donuts in the city! I always treat myself to a honey dip from Lee's Donuts when I'm at Granville Island.

I waited 20 minutes to get the donut. It was 2.5 per donut. Was it worth it. No it wasn't. I went there at 5pm. Didn't taste very special. It was okay. The red velvet donut didn't hve anything special to it. The service was ok. Would I go there again. Likely no. The service was good. read more

Nice selection of donuts, nothing spectacular. I bought a honey dip and a Old fashioned glazed, both were good. Nothing to write home about. read more

So many flavours to choose from!! And I froze on the spot and picked the regular (honey dipped) and also their most popular. And it's their best seller for a reason!! Mine was freshly made so it was still warm and the donut wasn't too heavy unlike the ones you get from Tim's. Each bite was very light and fluffy and it wasn't drenched in oil. Would definitely come back to Granville island just to try the donuts! read more

Tried 3 donuts yesterday from this very popular spot at the Granville island market! Mixed reviews - best one was honey dip - super fresh and perfect amount of glaze. Next best was the pumpkin spiced which had a nice pumpkin flavour and was overall decent. The worst was the dutch crumb - it just wasn't fresh and the toppings, a mix of cinnamon and sugar, just didn't seem to work. Overall I thought these donuts were decent for a sweet treat but not sure why the long lineups! read more

Was I missing something? I cannot, for the life of me, fathom what the fuss is all about! I keep reading the words "the best donuts I've ever had" from other yelpers that I got super excited to go and try them out. Sadly, I cannot say "hey, ditto!" because then I'd be lying. I'm not saying that Lee's donuts sucks, they are indeed quite good and that's where it ends. There's nothing memorable about them except for the price. I believe we paid $4.25 for six pcs of honey dip (I was hoping to try the mango as well but they were out), I know for a fact that many would find that cheap in today's economy. I will not go home and say, damn I need to go back to Vancouver to eat Lee's donut. read more

I love Lees donuts. They have great donuts and been really good with socially distancing. The only thing I didn't like was that the cashier was grabbing donuts and using the terminal with the SAME GLOVES. Those terminals are filthy with people constantly touching them and cards touching them. I found it concerning especially with the pandemic still going on read more

So. Good. Saturday morning and the line was about 10 deep. It moved very quickly. I had the raspberry fritter and am embarrassed to say that I agree the entire thing. The not too sweet raspberry filing oozed out. My husband had the mango filled, for his first donut, and it was still warm. So worth it!!! read more

Great location. Pretty average donut in my opinion. Was a short wait and a decent variety of flavour.

Awesome raised sugar donut. Maybe the best I've ever had. And I love donuts. Actually want to eat one now.

The hygiene here is gross. The people use the same gloves to pick/touch the donuts, touch the payment terminal and - in the case of the girl who was serving us - scratch their head and adjust their face mask. Gross. read more

Not sure what the hype is or if we just didn't get the popular flavors as they were out (honey glazed, raspberry filled), but whatever we got that afternoon was meh. I wouldn't pay $2.50 each again. read more

The doughnuts are tasty and freshly made but very costly. It's just because of the pricy location that they have to price them high. I like good doughnuts but im frugal with my money. I would rather go to a different place and get freshly made doughnuts. They are better than Timmy's but then any doughnut freshly made is even krispy kreme. read more

These are the best doughnuts I've ever had in my life. No joke. We came here and I had a cream filled and my bf had a mango one and they were sooo good we came back 10 minutes later for round two. I got an apple filled and he had another mango. They were hot and fresh and crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The fruit fillings were very fresh and fruity. Fast, Friendly and relatively cheap if you don't buy every single one in the case...I seriously cannot wait to come back and try every single flavor!! I wish I had one right now! :( read more

Amazing place for donuts, hidden little gem at Granville island. Cheap and so much for selection, my faves are the jelly filled and you can tell the fillings aren't just artificial crap pumped with sugar. My personal favorite is the mango madness and I've also tried their chocolate marshmallow which is amazing. It's perfect for a quick snack as you stroll around Granville island with a coffee in hand. If your favorite flavor isn't on the tray, just ask them if they have any, last time my sister asked for mango madness even if the tray was empty and they keep empty 'shells' aka jelly-less donuts and fill them if you ask! read more

Why didn't I buy more donuts... I got a honey dip donut and it was probably one of the best donuts I have ever tried. The memory of Lucky's glazed donut was fresh in my mind and it did not compare to Lee's. These donuts were crispy on the outside (very reminiscent of the Chinese donuts eaten with congee, it was weird!) and fluffy on the inside. The icing was a tad sweet but in combination with the crispiness and fluffiness, it was just right. Next time I'm at Granville Island I'll know to buy more than one! read more
