Came here for some donuts. There was 1 staff running the entire show. She was cheerful and chatty, which is always a good thing. I had a chance to try the cinnamon bun. This is one of the better ones out there. Most other places make them way too sweet or gooey. They also sell other donuts, and donut holes (aka "Timbits") here. They looked good but I didn't go for them today. As they're located right by the entrance, it's a good way to start or end your stroll of the Granville Island Public Market. read more

Cake donuts. There was a short line out the door. It was about a 15 minute wait on a weekday. $2.50/donut.

Now I really know why the lines are so long here at Lee's. It was so difficult to choose the which flavors especially with the list of flavors available. Ours favorites were Honey Dip, Bavarian, and mango custard. The line was long but it was quick and all the cashiers were extremely patient and helpful in giving you recommendations. Finished our half a dozen pretty quickly. read more

The doughnuts are good. We have been very fortunate to try doughnuts from many places around the world, my wife loves doughnuts...lol We tried them and found that they were good, that's about it. Cheers read more

Went to Granville Island and made a pit stop here. Their donuts are good but nothing super special. A bit overhyped and there was a long line when I came. Bought half a dozen. They three with fillings (lemon, blueberry, mango) were soft and pillowy. The other three (matcha, chocolate crunch, honey dew) are more doughy. Matcha flavour was very light, chocolate crunch wasn't crunchy and I couldn't taste the honey in honey dew (tasted like original glaze). Neither of them were very sweet. Best eaten fresh. read more

an old granville island institution. been around since 1979 and still kicking it serving honest to goodness comfort food donuts. the flavours are not as wide ranging as tims or other places, but the quality of the donuts simply are pure and outstanding. went with a box of 6 ! line up to order was around the corner...a testament of the goodness thats being sold here. their sugar donut i think is the best one of all, as they use it as a base for their bavarian and other flavour filled pastries. each bite so tender and moist with a bit of crunchy crispy coating on the outside to achieve that perfect bite and chewy texture. bavarian one was awesome. not too sweet. ut just right! the center was filled with a creamy goodness unmatched by tims for sure. the cinnamon one had a more cake like texture but smooth and moist and seasoned well. dough was not bland at all. both the cinnamon flavours and the pastry had their own unique attributes. service was fast and friendly. smiles all throughout. simply laid menu offerings..easy to read and understand. best part, you can see them replacing the empty trays with fresh made ones every now and then. sometimes, they don't wait for the trays to be empty. they simply discard the old ones and put in a fresh batch. proof that items are fast moving and their penchant for freshness is there as well as high standards of food quality. one bite, you will know what im talking about. their layout hasnt changed for as far as i can remember. still same flow and ambiance. homy feel as if you just entered a donut shop in the 70 or 80s. very throwback!! cheers! happy eating!! read more

4/5 Non pretentious place in the Public Market that sells you guessed it -- donuts! Came here twice during my recent trip to Vancouver, liked it enough the first time that I stopped by for some more donuts when I was in the area again. Quick service, it appeared they always had new batches of donuts waiting to reach the shelves even if it appeared they ran out of a flavor in the front. They don't go into trying to create and sell crazy flavors (which sometimes look better than they taste) and I appreciate that. My go to is the jelly donut and it did not disappoint! The honey glazed donut is also a good one. If you're in Public Market, I'd recommend coming here to grab a donut for a quick bite to eat. read more

It's true - you can't leave Granville Island without a box of Lee's Donuts! My go to is the Bavarian Cream. Ugh, just brings me back to my childhood. I have yet to try their HUGE fritters! Reason why im giving it 4 stars is because I decided to try their Chocolate Bavarian cream and to be honest, it wasn't the best. It was too sweet and had an artificial taste. read more

These were the donuts that people raved about. Was also on "Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner" w/Seth Rogen. They were alright. That's about it. When compared to Bob's donuts in SF and Voodoo Donuts in Portland, these definitely take a backseat. Better than your average, but nothing too special. Also the line is INSANELY long, and the donuts aren't hot. Just okay I would. Be prepared to wait. read more

A classic donut spot that I honestly didn't know existed until last year. I was too busy fawning over the gelato places in Grandma Island all my life hehe I got a jelly donut because I heard that it was the *best*. I enjoyed the quality of the donut but it was painfully sweet! I am second guessing my sweet tooth because that baby was intense. I don't get why all the fancy places enrobe their jelly donuts with granulated sugar please give me a classy sprinkling of icing sugar. I am in tears thinking about how dehydrated I was after my donut. I guess I will try another one of their donuts given the opportunity. With a big glass of water on hand. read more

Long line that moves quickly. It starts outside and goes right through inside. They're equipped for that long line, it's more just people not being able to decide between flavors. One of the best donuts and it's local! The raspberry filling seemed pretty fresh. I saved other donuts for the next day and they remained fresh. I would go back! read more

Coffee and a donut are less than 5 bucks. A++! Probably the tastiest donuts in the Lower Mainland. They don't get all gourmet with their treats like some of the stuff you see elsewhere - Just CLASSIC, mouth watering, hits the sweet spot, i'll-take-a-dozen-to-go, kind of donut. The donuts are not super oily and they even taste great the following morning! My personal fav are the Honey Dip ones. Can't go wrong with those or Chocolate Iced style. The folks that run the shop are pretty chill. Super helpful and very attentive. I'll be back! read more

These are some of the best donuts I've had. I asked them what their most popular was, and the worker recommended the glazed donut, strawberry jelly donut, and lemon jelly donut. My favorite was the glazed donut. The dough itself was soft, pillowy, fluffy, and airy. We also got a matcha donut to try, but it was more like a cake than donut, and I wasn't too fond of it. If I'm ever feeling a donut, I'd come here again. read more

I'm pretty picky about donuts. This might be controversial to many but I am not a fan of Krispy Kreme donuts; but yet Timhortons donuts I seem to tolerate. Lee's donuts however, have really nailed it with their donut game. I've tried it in the past, but it wasn't until my uncle brought some back for me that I forgot how good the donuts were. I like a nice simple honey glazed donut or a jelly filled one. Their jelly donuts are super good and the jelly tastes super natural and not sickeningly sweet. The donut itself is super fluffy yet has a nice bite to it. I will definitely be stopping by here the next time I visit Granville Island read more

During this time (covid and all) surprisingly the line up is fine Donut wasn't the greatest - seriously their honey dip and their filled donuts are great The rest is just meh. Worth the bucks for honey dip and mango filled donuts for sure Won't be a regular but Will try other ones when in the area Definitely recommend the softer donuts not the harder ones - it was so dry. read more

Fun & affordable place that's a must in the Granville Island Public Market in Vancouver. The honey dip (basic glazed) is very good and that's job #1 for any highly recommended donut place. Bavarian cream filled was good too. Lots of other varieties (honeydew, chocolate glazed, donut holes) nothing else really stood out but the kids enjoyed all the different kinds. read more

I was at Granville Island grocery shopping and decided I had to go and get a donut. Lee's is one of the only places on Granville Island right now with a line but they're doing a great job of controlling it. They have signs for staying six feet apart and stanchions so that the line doesn't get in the way of shoppers going to other stands. The staff handling everything we're wearing gloves and masks and were super friendly. I ended up getting a honey dip donut but they're offering pre made 6 packs of donuts right now as well. Definitely satisfied my donut craving! read more

Yeast donuts review: I was eyeing the donut holes but they are all cake style so I skipped them and opted for yeast ones: the honey dip donut and the bavarian cream filled donut. The honey dip is alright, I didn't quite taste the honey in there. The donut itself is pillowy. The bavarian is creamy without being greasy, and not sweet. Must try! read more

We had a honey dip doughnut hole and a honey dip doughnut. We ate them immediately/fresh, they were good. But, I don't think there is anything special that I would go out of my way for. The line forms fast. The portion size of their doughnuts and fritters are on the larger side. read more

Great donuts worth the wait! 4 of us bought 6 donuts to try, my favorite is the honey dipped. We all thought they were delicious and compared every dessert we had in Vancouver to these donuts, lol. We later tried the donuts in Deep Cove area that everyone raves about and those did not compare at double the price of Lees donuts. read more

These might be the most overrated donuts I've had in a while. First off, they're not BAD. I ate it and enjoyed it. As I do a lot of donuts (far too many, in fact). But I couldn't tell that much of a difference between here and some of the major donut chains. The cake donut still had a bit of that overly processed taste and it just didn't wow me like some other gourment places. So, if you want a donut, sure this'll do -- just don't preach me about how these are the best. read more

Sat outside in the cold waiting for over 10mins before they even opened. They saw me waiting and just ignored me. Waited another 5mins after they opened and even nudged the door politely. Lee's donuts is actually not on our itinerary, but when we saw a bunch of people lining up, we couldn't just pass to try it. I got the dutch crumb while husband got the mini donuts. The dutch crumb is so yummy! It's not oily and the consistency is kind of like a pound cake inside with an outer layer made out of donuts. It's not overly sweet which is good and rare for donuts. One of the best original donuts I've ever had! read more

Good variety of unique donuts. Line can seem long but moves quickly as the service is fast.

I'd heard a lot about this place and had always wondered what the fuss was about. I mean, they're just donuts right, what's so special about them? But having tried it, I have to say, this place is really that good! I'd never had donuts that tasted this amazing! It cannot be expressed in words, one has to try them to understand just how good they are! read more

These donuts were fresh, flavorful, and everything else you'd want in a donut. The place is located inside Granville Market, so you can eat your donuts and continue shopping! Or take the donuts to go - if I lived in Vancouver I definitely would. It wasn't too crowded when I was there in January, but if there is a line it's worth the wait! read more

The line appears long but it goes by pretty fast! It took me about 7-10 minutes to get served. Their donuts are all good but my top picks are the honey dip, matcha cheesecake, and raspberry filling. I feel like a failed vancouverite because I've spent all 21 years of my life not trying an iconic donut spot! As I was bloated from a whole pint of beer from the Granville island brewing company, I wasn't really up for a full lunch so naturally I went for donuts as an alternative. I really didn't think much about it because they're just donuts right? Honesty I'm not much a donut connoisseur but these were really great! I got the classic honey dip, jelly donut, lemon and mango and all of them were superb. My standout was the mango! It was just like perfect sweetness and so pillowy! The mango curd complemented the sugary donut exterior. Honourable mention goes out to the raspberry donut but honestly all of them were *chef's kiss*. If you find yourself at the Granville island public market, give Lee's a try! Don't let the line intimidate you! The line moves pretty fast! read more
