With lot of hype, we had to check it out. Donuts were fine although I would not make out of way to get there. Honey dipped (#1 selling) feels like thicker sugar coating. Honey especially heated is pretty much sugar anyway. Lemon glaze added flavor and so I thought it was better. I prefer less greasy and lighter texture, but I at least crossed off a thing to eat in Vancouver. read more

I'm really not sure what the hype is about. The donuts were kind of gross. I had the honey glazed and chocolate one. I honestly threw away half the honey glaze cause I felt like it was a waste of calories. Thank god the line moves fast. Service is efficient. read more

Came here after my friend told me how famous the place was and that the donuts were super good, and it was in the area! As the place is right in the middle of Granville, you can just grab a quick snack as you're walking around. :) (Note: It was a stand and there isn't really a sit down area) There was a bit of a line when I got there, but fortunately it goes by super fast. I got a couple of donuts with my friend to share and the were all great! Although they weren't super outstanding compared to some other donuts, they were definitely delicious--super light, fluffy and still warm from being freshly baked. Highly recommend for everyone to check out! read more

Tried it for the first time on vacation. Donuts were good but wouldn't say life changing or anything super special. Just a good classic donut. Service was good, line moved fast. Located was inside Granville island. read more

I've been to Vancouver a handful of times now but only in my last trip did I find out about Lee's Donuts. I can't believe it was kept a secret from me for so long! I love me some good donuts so when I heard this was a favourite place, I had to try it. Walking into the main area of Granville, we immediately saw a lineup for Lee's. Luckily they move fairly quickly so we were in and out in 10 min or so. There were so many options, I felt a bit of pressure to choose my flavours before it was my turn. If I had more time I definitely would have enquired about all the flavours they had that day. We walked out with a dozen donuts of all types of flavours. I couldn't tell you how many different ones we got anymore but I do know they had a lemon on that was delicious! All the donuts were soft and fresh and not too sweet. Definitely a treat though as they were HUGE! I will be back again to try more flavours and that yummy lemon one again =) read more

While preparing for my visit to Vancouver, I saw a ton of recommendations for this donut place. As a lover of donuts, I knew I had to come. We got there around 2PM and the line was LONG! It stretched all the way to the main entrance to the market. Although the line was initially intimidating, it moved fast and we were by the front within 15 minutes. I got the lemon filled, orange glazed, and blueberry filled. They lived up to my expectations! I appreciate that all the flavors were very prominent. I had the lemon and orange donuts the next day, and even being a day old, they were STILL some amazing donuts. Knocked a star off because they gave me the donuts in a really thin brown paper bag. Within a couple minutes, the oil started soaking through, which was a big turn off. Wish they also gave small boxes even for smaller orders. Would definitely come if I was already planning on doing an island trip. Not sure if I would go out of my way to make the trek if I wasn't. read more

I had to try for myself what the fuss is all about. Thumbs up for the Raspberry glazed donut. I could taste the fruit and it has a good aroma about it. The honey dip donut however, I'm on the fence-it's alright. Freshness? Legit! The selections though is huge that I had to break it down to the most bought. I bought 2 donuts and I was satisfied. I'd buy the Raspberry glazed again and not the other. They don't take cash at all because the line is too long it has to keep moving swiftly. Credit cards are welcome. read more

Warning If you try their donuts, you will be hooked! I especially love their Fritters!! Have it with their coffee, pair made in Heaven! Currently, due to Covid, you will usually need to line up to get into Lee's Donuts, the line moves fast, so don't worry, just make sure you know which one you wanted, that way you can also help others for not having to wait too long! My personal fav is their HUGE Fritters, so good to share or you can have it all too! Service is friendly and very efficient! Accept Card Payments only! read more

These donuts are pretty good, I can say I am happy to have tried these and am not ruling out going back here one more time to get more. The lines are long for good reason, albeit it moves, and it helped I went on a weekday. The donuts are fresh, I saw them making batch after batch in the back. The thing that most impressed me was the warm raspberry jam in my jelly donut, that is a thing of beauty. In fact, all the donuts look beautiful. The way they glisten off the countertops, the glint of the glaze reflecting off the glass, it makes it hard to want just one. Everybody I saw in my line got at least two of these pastries. That does it. I am coming back before I head back to the states. read more

Yuuummy yuuummy!! So my patient dropped by some donuts and I got the pleasure to try the double chocolate one for breakfast! Not only was it crispy on the outside, but the cream was so gooey I couldn't savour it long enough (as you can see on the photo *hehe*) 10/10 on the packaging and 10/10 on the presentation of the food!! We were vacationing in Vancouver for 1 week and took a day trip to Granville and stumbled upon a huge line up outside of the building. Turns out people were lining up for those doughtnuts. At first we were quite hesitant because we thought these doughnuts might taste similar to krispy kreme (too sweet) we saw there were a variety of choices with different flavors ranging from matcha, classic, chocolate, etc. We decide to opt out as the line up was way too long. Fast forward the day before we boarded our flight back home we decided we should give this place a try as a few friends recommend we get some before we left. We got half a dozen, classic, chocolate, powdered sugar, blueberry and I forgot what the other flavors were. Honestly, I asked myself when I boarded my flight back home "WHY DIDN'T I GET MORE!?!" They were so good, not too sweet, fluffy and just amazing. I wish I had bought more so I could bring back and let my family try it but instead I practically devoured it on my flight with my bf lol. If you're around the area or plan to hit up Vancouver any time soon definitely should go and try them out. The line goes by pretty fast! read more

With the lines and the hype, Lee's Donuts provides fresh donuts for all! LINES: You can't miss Lee's Donuts because of the lines. It moved quickly and you get a view of the kitchen where all the magic happens as you move closer to the entry. DONUTS: There was SO much variety and it was difficult to choose. I ended up with the famous honey dip and matcha donut. The honey dip was so delicious - pillowy and soft. A must get! The matcha donut had no green tea or matcha taste at all; it was just another sugar donut which was so disappointing. I regret getting that over the other options. read more

Serving Vancouver since 1979 Lee's Donuts is nothing less than iconic, a tiny stall in the Granville Island Public Market open from 9am to 6pm daily with a queue almost universally present. Still family owned, the head baker and operations managers both involved for over 35 yeaars, Lee's options lean classic with Cake, Yeast and filled - a daily-special Raspberry Fritter very special indeed with shiny Glaze plus Fruit in the middle and in the Dough. Only trying one Yeast Ring, fluffy but a bit tightly formed, Cake for $2.50 each are exemplary whether topped in Vanilla, Maple, Strawberry or infused with Cocoa beneath rich Chocolate Frosting. read more

Pros: - Great texture and flavor for both the yeast and cake donut. - In my opinion a bit over hyped but it is still a very solid donut. Cons: - Long lines and they sell out early for the honey dip. - Donuts have a bit too much granulated sugar on top for my personal liking. read more

Lee's is my go to donut spot in Vancouver. It's always very consistent in quality and can't be beat for variety. They've got a mix of both yeast and cake donuts (yeast being my favorite). Delicious donut shop in Granville island. Sadly we missed the honey donuts but the crumb and blueberry donuts were very good.

Donut mind if I do. Obviously. This place has been a hit before Seth Rogen has been coming to it since way back when. They got their social distancing in place and its what we call a smooth operation! Line up is pretty hectic, but if you're committed to the cause. It donut disappoint you. Pro tip- if you try to take photos the seagulls maybe eat first before your camera. The person at Lees did warn me but I had to do it for the Yelp. I got honey dip and raspberry jelly. Those two are their most infamous donuts and damnnnn were they good. There is never a better time to eat donuts. So donut wait any longer friends!!! Support local read more

I've been here a few times on my trips to Vancouver, and I was shocked by how long the line for Lee's is now! The line is typically outside of the building, but it does move quickly. If you're in Granville Island, you've got to stop for some donuts at Lee's! I thankfully went on a weekday so there was ZERO line up! If you're local, see if you can do it on a day off or pop out for lunch to beat the crowds. My favourite is the honey dip but I was so pleased with the cinnamon one as well (I'm a sucked for cinnamon coated treats). I had lots of questions about what each donut was and the guy who served me helped me make my choices and answered my questions. Just make sure you get enough, that's my #1 advice ;) read more

Lee's Donuts - Half a dozen. Dutch, matcha, cinnamon, lemon and jelly. I had already eaten the honey dip which was my favourite! - Donuts Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Their donuts are too cakey and dense on both of their cake donuts or yeast donuts. Taste is just okay to meh, nothing specially make them stand out from others. It just like a standard donut every home baker can make. We tried the raspberry filled, home cut, chocolate and honey culled donuts. I just can't convince myself to go back for second try. Just in my own opinion, It doesn't worth the hype, I can easily get a donut anywhere else for better quality and presentation. I honestly think that it is all about the social media effect. Prices are quiet deep to match the size and price for their donuts. 1.5 stars the most in consideration of the not too pleasant service which i had to repeat my order 3 times to get them corrected. Sometime overhype really hurt the business. Just focus on the quality and customer service so you can stay on top of the market. read more

I didn't really get the hype. Saw the long line and got into it to try their donuts since everyone's raving about it. But, I didn't think they were anything special. Had their honey glazed and thought it was fine. I got their last Lemon filled and that was def. better - really strong lemon flavor and lots of filling. The dough was nice. Maybe overrated? Meh. read more

OK, so the only reason why I went here is honestly cuz there was a line out the door. Never heard of this place, wasn't even interested but there's a line! People must know what's up!! Unfortunately by the time we got to the front of the line most items were sold out (this is around 2pm) so it was slim pickings. We ended up with: Cookie Monster -- frosty is very sweet Coconut -- ate the next day and it was still fluffy! Powdered Sugar -- everything all tasted very similar Red Velvet -- OK They're like a fluffier version of an old-fashioned. So it's OK, but not mind-blowing and if you're waiting in line for it, it BETTER BE GOOD!! Not worth the efforts unfortunately. read more

Seth Rogen and chef David Chang have previously visited here for a netflix series. I've never seen it, but Seth approved LD for best donuts in Vancouver. Anyways, I went on sunny stroll down in Granville Island with a buddy A, and we stopped here for some donut fix. We had to wait in line around 2PM. A told me that Mango donuts is the best seller. Lots of donuts were in stock except mango ones. We checked the shelves to see if staff is making any mango ones, NO! There wasn't any. A bought boxful of donuts and I bought 2 flavours : Strawberry and Matcha. Donuts were okay. Just the usual cake donuts I'd say. I personally like chewy ones (eg. mochi donuts from Asia) and the Krispy Kreme originals. Sorry, these donuts didn't blow my mind. Matcha donuts had no flavours at all. Strawberry donuts were messy to eat. This one was lot better than Matcha in my personal opinion. Sorry, I can only give 3 stars for my visit. Mango donuts might change my mind. Service was fast and friendly. read more

I really didn't understand the hype. The donut was fluffy yes but honestly nothing special at all. I wouldn't wait in a long line for these

Was it worth the wait? Something I still have to think about. I was in Granville Market and saw the massive line. I was curious as to what it was and turns out, it was this donut place! I thought, if the line was that long, it definitely has to be REALLY DELICIOUS DONUTS ! The donuts itself were different from your Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donut style. It's a cake donut! But not the dense ones (which I personally prefer). The donuts actually turned out to all have the same base flavor, and then just coated with different flavored icing. The icing was actually not that flavorful, so even though I ordered 6 different flavors, they tasted all the same. But they were still delicious! I would definitely recommend giving this a shot, but if the line was any longer than I waited for (30 mins), I probably wouldn't go. I also wouldn't get more than 2-3 donuts since they seemed to all have the same flavor profile. read more

Lee's Donuts is located in the Granville Island Public Market. Lee's Donuts is very popular. Lee's Donuts is not hard to find, all you have to do is follow the sweet aroma to the long line. If that doesn't work just ask the many people walking around with the yellow donut box. Lee's Donuts serves your traditional donuts. There were a couple of interesting flavors and I totally regret not coming with a dozen people so I can try it all. I lined up and got a number. The wait was fast. I got the Honey-glazed and the Dutch Crumb. Both donuts were great. Nice and fluffy. I could totally have eaten this for every meal of my trip. I think what makes these donuts good is the turn around rate. There was always a new batch of donuts coming out of the fryer. The fresher the donut the better the donut. Lee's Donuts was one of the many places that was recommended as a "must-go" on Granville Island. After a 20-minute wait in line, we got a matcha and original donut. I was expecting them to be fresh/warm, though they were handed to us straight from the containers in which they were displayed. Despite this, the old-fashioned original donut was phenomenal - cakey and dense without being heavy with just the right amount of sweetness. The matcha donut tasted more like a sugar-coated one, so it missed the mark a bit. Definitely stick with the original donut! read more

A must-visit for donut lovers when you're on Granville Island! So many fun and delicious donut flavors. It's probably best to come with a group so you can share as many flavors as possible. I got the bounty bar (chocolate icing and coconut shavings) and dutch nuts (maple, cinnamon, and crumbs) -- highly recommend both if you like those flavors. Lee's is so popular that there's a line out the door. It moves fast though, and you're distracted by the window into their kitchen anyway. You get to see employees making, frying, and adorning the donuts. I think it's always fun to be able to see into the kitchen. Probably less fun for the employees as it's a bit of a fish bowl experience. read more

I was super excited to try these donuts as these seem to be the most reviewed thing in Vancouver area especially in Granville Island. However, after ordering the Honey Crisp donut, I felt like the donut wasn't particularly mind-blowing. Don't get me wrong, it is still very good because the inside was more yeast-y rather than the usual bread-y and dry texture, but it was still pretty sweet. It feel like this is pretty typical to what you would get at other donut shops that are not from chain stores. I guess for $2.50/donut its pretty cheap to buy one just to try it out and see the hype for yourself but I wouldn't say they are super out of the ordinary. Honestly, I might go back just to try some of their other donuts to see if they would change my mind. read more
