I went in to the salon today for a no chip manicure. Tony was the name of my manicurist. First he refused to cut my nails when asked and proceeded to tell me that short nails have no beauty. That should have been my first clue. Secondly, he cut two of my cuticles that were bad enough to continuously bleed throughout the manicure. During the entire process, he was very rushed and did an overall horrible job. Another gentleman who worked there was working on nails of a friend of mine and looked at them, shook his head, and said, "This is a horrible job." The establishment still proceeded to charge me but apologized. That is certainly not good enough, especially when there are many other salons in the area. I went there because of friends but will certainly stick with Kal Nails on 191st that have employees who are always courteous, professional, and do high quality work. read more

Please do not support this business. I made an appointment for my daughter and myself at 10 am the day we were leaving for vacation so we could both get pedicures together and so she could get a manicure and I could get a full gel set. I told the girl over the phone exactly what I wanted and she said no problem. When we arrived we were sent to two chairs. My daughter was done with her hands and feet before someone even came to see me. I asked several times if I could get done since we made the appt for two and wanted to be done together. I was told 5 more minutes at least 5 times. Two different people came to do my feet, and my daughter sat for over an hour waiting for just my feet to get done. At 11:30 I had to ask someone to please give me a top coat so I could leave because I had been sitting for 1.5 hours and couldn't wait any longer. The man told me 5 more minutes-after 15 minutes he then hurried and painted my toes then told me to sit at the table and wait another 5 minutes to get my hands done. I told him I had to leave and he angrily told the girl at the counter that I chose not to get my hands done. I was flabbergasted. I had been there for two hours at this point and they didn't care. I was charged $63 for a basic pedi for me and a mani/pedi for my daughter who is 6 years old. I told them I was very disappointed in the service and the two hour wait even though I had an appointment. No apology. Not even an explanation as to why 5 women who came in after me as walk ins were done before me. It was my first and last time giving them my business. Please please bring your nails business elsewhere, when a business doesn't care about its customers it doesn't deserve our money and our time. read more

The salon is very pretty and well kept. There is even a separate pedicure room if you are having a private party. They offer you mini bottled water as well, and they do a very good job on your nails. The prices are reasonable considering the kind of service you are getting along with the clean atmosphere. The only reason I could not give a full 5 stars is because of their tipping policy. They do not allow you to tip on cards, which they have the right to do so, but it is pretty inconvenient. Unfortunately, some of their employees are probably being stiffed on tips because many people don't carry cash anymore. Also, they "don't give change." If I only had a $20.00 bill, they would not break it for me to give a reasonable tip. Again - sorry, but I'm not going to give a $20.00 tip because you can't break the bill and you can't put a tip on my card. read more

The first time I came here, I got a no chip. Nails had not been done in months and figured why not. The guy who took care of me was nice, although he had really bad teeth. Nails turned out perfect and I went on my way. 2 weeks later I came back. the experience was just the opposite. I asked for a pedicure and a no chip. I sat down in the pedicure chair and the lady asked me which one I wanted. I was a little confused because it was very hard to understand her but I caught the word "milk" and thought ok there gonna put it in the water.... WRONG! She started my pedicure and next thing I know she is wrapping my feet in hot wax. I asked her what she was doing and she kept telling me to relax. Kind of upset that no one would answer me I brushed it off. Next comes the no chip... DISASTER. Not only did she leave me with my fingers burning and basically bleeding she actually used teh GRINDER machine they use for acrylics and such on my perfectly healthy nails! I kept telling her no and she would hold my hand. I was livid. When I told her my fingers were burning from her grinding not only my nail but my skin she finally stopped and wiped it off. BUT THEN she took lotion and started to rub it in, needless to say it had peppermint in it and made my fingers 10x worse. She grabbed a towel and I wiped my hands and wouldnt let her touch them anymore, She grabbed a spray bottle which I thought had water in and sprayed my fingers... READY FOR IT??? It was ALCOHOL! Once again I was screaming. I got up and asked to pay and leave and was told my total was $85! I almost blew steam from my head... apparently she tricked me into an expensive pedicure. SHOCKING considering she wouldn't listen to me. Another lady came over and tried helping, she was very nice, and also knew that the lady was wrong. By this time i just wanted to leave. I asked for my change but no one had the key to the cash register. The manager came over and tried to help me but I was so mad I was in tears and just walked out. DONT do it people, I am 30 years old and have been getting my nails done for 15 years, trust me and please dont go through what I went through. read more

I'm always happy getting my nails done here. I always try other places but always seem to come back. Their dip mani color selection is fabulous and last up to 3 weeks without chipping! Their prices are much higher, but i guess that's why. It's worth every penny. read more

Took my Mother for, Mothers Day! We called ahead for 2 pedicures; they said there was no wait. When we walked in there was a unwelcoming feeling but hey it's Mother's Day weekend, they've been busy was my initial thought. When we got in the back, once in the chairs neither one of the girls enter acted with us. My mother had JoAnn; she said she was very rough and kept telling my mom to relax! She also put my Mothers Flip Flop on and then sprayed her feet with something before applying the clear coat. Finally, we get all done and to the drying area, they ask how you're going to pay. I hand her a card and tell her to add extra for tip; she tells me they only take cash tips. So she comes hands me my card but then stands there like insisting a tip. read more

Superior place to visit for any service. I have a standing appointment with Ivy and she never fails to "wow" me. The place is beautiful, clean, and quiet. Quiet music and TVs with captions. All the employees are polite and go out of their way to make the visit a pleasure. Walk ins are accommodated, but because they are so good and so popular, an appointment might be advisable. I've seen the work done by several of the operators, male and female. They always aim to please the customer and everyone I've seen walk out of there have had lovely results. Regarding nails, selection is massive in terms of colors and styles. They do pedicures, waxing and eyelashes too. A nice local place that will earn your loyalty too. (Patricia K) read more

Very unprofessional and overpriced. Went in to get my nails done and I chose a color from the nail swatches and it came out a completely different color than what I chose. I paid for them. But mentioned how disappointed I was. They offered to fix them however I did not have the time. But the workers decided to talk badly about me to the other customers that were being worked on. I have no desire to even come get them fixed now. Very disappointing experience. Will not return!! read more

I hate to say anything bad because I haven't had a bad experience... the owners and all their employees are very nice...Aaron did such a great job on my nails....as I was looking around getting my nails done I noticed that some of the staff should start looking a bit more professional...it certainly doesn't take that much effort read more
