I wasn't going in with any extra large expectations mind you, but this place immediately blew my mind when I walked in. It's absolutely gorgeous and elegant, it's a uniquely comforting atmosphere and everyone is immediately very kind and attentive. I had the honor of NICK doing my nails, and after expecting the usual bare minimum I have grown accustomed to, I was extremely surprised and beyond pleased and overjoyed with my end result! I cannot thank him enough! Bring him anything and he can do it, honestly. The lady who did my pedicure was rude and injured my big toe. She not only filed it way too short, she cut it open so bad it is now bleeding and throbbing in pain. I didn't think it was that bad until I got in the car and saw it still bleeding. When she put alcohol on the toe, and I winced in pain from it stinging an open wound, she laughed. I've had several great experiences here which is the only reason I'm not giving one star. My most recent experience, though, was near traumatizing. I made an appointment and was one of two people in the whole place throughout the duration of my pedicure but the entire time the technician acted as if I was a total burden. From the moment I arrived, I felt rushed and as if I did something to make this guy mad. I got a fairly light color and after he finished it clearly needed another coat and when I asked for one he audibly sighed and got even more irritated with me. After reluctantly adding more coats, he messed up one of my big toes TWICE at which point I said it looked fine so I could just be done with the appointment. It is literally the worst toe nail paint job I've ever had my two year old could have done a better job. Be better to your customers. I will not be back. read more

I'm so bummed to have to give this new place two stars. The good: discounted pricing to celebrate the opening, good color selection, clean and sterile (equipment was definitely sterilized), good service at check-in. But...the young woman who did my pedi was very (very) inexperienced. Took a lot longer than it should of and was a very awkward experience. I would have no problem accommodating a tech in training but feel like you need to tell the customer or ideally, adjust the price-? My nails are a weird shape and I couldn't wait till she was done cutting my cuticles because she was so unconfident and lacked the skill. So my advice is to make an appointment with someone if you want a really awesome experience. I hate to be overly critical but this was a very unusual service. read more

I've been here 3 times since it opened and had pretty good experiences each time, however, my husband went today for a basic manicure and it is horrendous. This picture is from AFTER he got his manicure. He now has to visit a different salon to get it fixed and cleaned up, so we're spending double the money. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Design nails is new, having been recently acquired from the far superior LA Nails. The owners of this place, Kenny & Nick, are HORRENDOUS business owners. First, I've made appointments twice before with certain nail techs, only to arrive and be put with random people because my nail techs weren't working. I received no notice in advance of such. Additionally, my "no chip" polish chipped within 2 days of getting it done. Why am I paying $60+ for it to chip after 2 days... Then, I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for December 26th. I spoke to Kenny on the phone and scheduled my appointment with him. Today, December 24th, I received a call from Nick saying that my appointment was cancelled because they're closed on the 26th. Suddenly, 2 days before they decide to close up shop? Also, why was allowed to make an appointment if Kenny & Nick knew the place was going to be closed? Just look at the other ratings of this place - absolutely deplorable. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

Loved everything the establishment was modern and gorgeous very clean neat my nail tech nick was amazing great conversation and funny he Executed my nails exactly how I wanted them they greeted me and welcomed me very friendly I didn't have to wait for my first time being there it's safe to say I will be going back this is my new nail shop they are affordable and normally when I go to a nail shop ion really tip because I'm never satisfied but after seeing the finished product I had to tip him $20 it was amazing I can't wait to go back for my next set and to get my pedicure 10/10 recommend read more

Kenny is amazing at manicures! I have been going to him for a while now and I've never had any chipping, lifting, cracking, etc. My nails always look flawless when he is done with them. I went to design nails, looking for a nice nail place around the area. After a bad dip powder job with top layer flaking in less than a week I was done with LA nails. I was determined to find a nail tech that did not hurry me out the door or overbook the salon on entry. When I walked in, the front desk lady knew what I needed to have done and asked for specific elaboration. The colors were organized and easy to decipher and pick out. Nick, my nail tech worked meticulously and paid well attention to detail. He took his time, while also directing his staff. I assume he was also in a position of management. We traded pleasantries and he checked in to see if I was satisfied. I ordered two designs and was charged accordingly. Ombré nails, 2 designs and a coffin shape was around 60, which was expected. The only critique was the end of the coffin shape was sharp, so I filed it myself briefly after I got home. I will be coming back again and asking for Nick! So glad I went here. Kenny did a full set of dip powder nails without having to dip my fingers into the pot. Very sanitary way to apply the powder. They are both beautiful and strong. Came in with no appointment and only had a very short wait. By the time I chose a dip color I was seen almost right away. While I waited I saw him doing some really cute nails with peppermint design for Christmas. read more

I had the owner, Kenny, do my nails. He was great! He's truly an artist at what he does, and super helpful and friendly. I've gone here once before since it became Design Nails and had a woman do a dip manicure on me right before Thanksgiving that lasted until after Christmas!!! From what I understand, the other owner Nick, moved and now Kenny is the sole owner. He was attentive to me and all the other customers. I will for sure be back! read more

I won't be going back here. I used to come here often back when it was LA nails and they always accommodated me and did a great job with no chips and pedicures, but I am not a fan of the new place. I've had my no chip chip multiple times and my no chips rarely ever chip at all. Also, I wasn't pleased with the customer service. The girl who did my nails last time had an attitude with me and was annoyed when I told her I wanted a diamond on my nails. All of her comments to me were with an attitude and she definitely did not seem like she wanted to be there. And the the diamonds that she did put on fell off within a few days of getting them done. I'm so disappointed in this place as I really liked it when it was LA. read more

Was in the area and needed my gel nails filled in so I booked an appointment. Usually go to L A Nails. Was I in for a surprise! Asked where the regular nail polish was and was told in the basket up front. I picked one and the girl did my nails. Went to pay the bill and was charged $60!! I usually pay $26. I asked why so high and he told me it was no-chip. No way can I afford $60 and definitely will not be back. I feel like I was duped. read more
