My nails when i came here turned out fantastic! They were amazing and the staff was very helpful with making sure i had everything i wanted. I am a repeat customer and i'm always happy to be here! it's an amazing environment and everyone is extremely helpful and kind. But.. Don't let the older male do acrylic because when he did it on me i asked for a nude or pink acrylic or nude gel on top with a black french tip, and he gave me clear acrylic black french tip with matte top coat, but he might have not understood what i asked for. Overall this place is pretty nice but just make sure to be specific and stern. read more

My favorite salon - I've been going here for a year now and I always receive amazing service, I never end up with nails I don't love! The prices are good for the quality received, and my nails last me a long time, allowing me to keep a consistent schedule with when I want to go. I get nail art quite often, and it always comes out perfect!! Nina is so nice and accommodating, and the salon is always clean and comfortable. Love this place! read more

I asked for a simple thin French tip , even showed him a picture of what I asked for . He made the French tip thick , I did ask him to make it thinner & it's still thick . I didn't want to be that person but if I'm paying already so much for a service why should it be pad ? read more

Tommy was amazing on my no chip pedicure. He took out some hangnails that were bothering me with a great attitude. He's also funny. My feet look amazing too! He was very helpful and answered my questions. Staff seems to get along great with each other and the morale seems high. Other customers are nice, too. I've been here three times so far before this review and everybody has been great. read more

Awful! Clipped so much skin I'm bleeding. Facility is dirty & run down. Service is bad. No chip manicure is the worst I've ever had.

This is one of the best nail salons that I have been to. It is very clean and they do an amazing job on my nails. They take their time to make sure that their work is perfect and don't rush through the service (even when people are waiting), which I appreciate. read more

Won't be going here again. The woman who did my nails was so rough, my nails are actually sore after getting a set of acrylics. The acrylics weren't even done that well, I've had a much better application for a much cheaper price. I also asked for a coffin shape, those came out ok. However, when I left, I noticed the lengths weren't even at all and hod to go back in so that all 10 of my nails matched. read more

I went in for a pedicure and acrylic full set . The pedicure was nice up until the lady knicked my cuticle and made it bleed. It wasn't painful so I just ignored it. But then she did my full set.... not only did she knick two fingers and made them bleed, she did it with the dremel!! She was also going to put the wrong color polish on my mail even though i wanted the same color she did on my toes. She also missed a spot on my real nail with the acrylic and decided to file my real nail down to the bed and now the nail looks unnaturally shaped. Thought I'd give this place a try, and I regret it. I paid $110 for no chip pedicure and no chip acrylic full set, wasn't worth it! read more

This used to be the best place to get my nails done. Tommy always made you feel very welcomed and appreciated. Now that Tommy has taken a break and Nina is in charge things have gone haywire. They've become money hungry and you can't relax because you're being rushed. They don't have enough employees for as much business as they get. As soon as you walk in and tell them what you want, you're being told to pick a color and it'll be five minutes. That is not always true. Then if people are constantly coming in they rush you; instead of telling them to come back another time. And listen to your client. This is supposed to be a relaxing moment for a woman. I know that they are not fluent in English but that speaking in their own language, holding full conversations, may not be talking about me but I don't know that! The last of my complaints is again this is a spa experience and a place for women to relax. Open on Sundays half a day for parents that want to bring their kids. read more

I was having new tires installed around the corner so I decided to give this place a try and get a no chip manicure. I've had enough manis and pedis to know that this was by far, the worst no chip I've ever received. It may look ok and I can't speak to how it will hold up but my cuticles aren't completely cleaned up and he did zero lotion on my fingers and around my cuticles where I needed it most given that it's the dead of winter in chicago. My hands are still dry as can be!! Plus I love a little hand massage and I got nothing! Save yourself $35 and find a better nail salon!! read more

It is a decent nail salon. The pedicure was very relaxing. The painting of my fingernails and toenails were average. It was a bit too expensive for what you get. It is an ok place to go if you have no where else that is open, but I don't really recommend it. read more

*disclaimer: I've only been here to get my eyebrows waxed so I can't advise on the nail services. I've never had a bad experience at this nail salon and my brows always look great afterwards. For $8 you can't beat it and I will continue to visit Secret Nails for eyebrow waxes. read more

If I could give secret nails 10 stars I would. I've been getting my nails done by the owners for longer than the salon has been opened and I absolutely adore them. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and my dip manicures last a month sometimes! I get the lavender pedicure each time and it is amazing. You get a sea salt massage, a lotion massage, and paraffin wax on your feet all for $40. They have a wide variety of colors to choose from and always take their time and do their best. read more

I have been coming here for years and absolutely love it!! The staff is so friendly and do great work. I always love my nails!

I am writing this while sitting & waiting for my nails to dry. This is my second time here and I am blown away by the great customer service I have received. Miracle was my nail tech and now only was she attentive about the water temps & colors etc she kept a great conversation going the entire time and even engaged with my sister and mom who were working with other nail techs. I highly recommend secret nails & even more I recommend miracle! read more

Every time I come here I am treated like a queen. This is the cleanest nail salon I've been to in the area. Each member of the team takes special care of their clients. They offer a variety of services and have a full menu of specialized pedicures to fit every budget and indulgence. If you're getting a pedicure, ask for Dan. He takes the time and pays attention to details. And he gives a GREAT foot massage! read more

Hard working! I recommend Nina! She works with so much intention and diligence. Customer comes first with her that's for sure!

Horrible. Awful. There are no words for what happened to me here. Their equipment is unclean and they do not listen to a word you say when you tell them you do not want your ingrown toenails cut down so that they become even more painful and grow infected. I still have issues with a toenail that fell out -- yes FELL OUT -- after it got infected at this place. Stay away!! read more

Horrible place! It's been a while. but I was here and they splashed nail polish on my Coach bag. I told them and expected an apology, maybe a discount ... Instead they insisted I must have done it myself as they looked for smudges or flaws on my fingernails. Even after seeing none they insisted it wasnt there fault when it was obvious that it was a splash.. It was a struggle just to get them to help me TRY to get it off with nail polish remover ....never went back!!! This happened because they painted my nails while getting a pedi with my arm/hand just hanging there.... Talk about uncomfortable. They turned what should have been relaxing into an uncomfortable costly occassuon. Never apologizing. read more

I discovered this salon after my favorite nail tech moved here from another salon. I have been here 3 times over the past 3 months and can say that the salon is clean and the people are very welcoming, friendly, efficient, and do a great job! I brought my daughter with me on my last visit and she loved the creative designs on her fingers and toes. Some of the reviews about Secret Nails are from months or years ago - I have learned that the salon is now under new management. So happy with my manis and pedis! read more

I have yet to find a nail place that I have loved in this area, but this location had to be the worst of them all. I originally thought that maybe my nail tech was having an off day, but when my friend also received the same horrible service I knew something was off. To begin, we had 2 mani appointments set for 6 pm. I arrived a little bit earlier, and even after stating multiple times I wanted to wait for my friend they were persistent about me starting before she arrived because they were going to get busy. I was able to stall for the most part but got a roll of the eyes from the tech as well as a huff and she walked to the back while saying something and pulled out her phone. When my friend arrived and we were ready to start, the tech looked at me angrily like I was bugging her and said "oh you're ready now?" I had my nails perfectly filed and ready to go, they just needed a quick cuticle clean up and no-chip polish. In the 16 years I have gotten manicures I have never been cut so badly to the point of bleeding, which she didn't care. The final total came to $35 to have my cuticles cut, no-chip polish and a dab of lotion on my hands. I asked why I wasn't being charged the $25 for just the polish because that is basically what I received. When I think of having a manicure I assume that they massage with lotion or oil your hands and arms, but nope not this place. Chicago prices for hole in the wall work. I highly recommend not coming to this location as this was just my experience, my friend had similar with a different technician. They wouldn't even give me a discount for cutting almost every one of my cuticles and making me bleed. FYI, they didn't get busy! 1 person walked in as she was finishing me up and they didn't have to wait at all! read more

This was a horrible experience for many reasons. The staff speaks to each other in Vietnamese and ignores customers. Customers use cell phones loudly in pedi chairs with no one stopping them. You are trapped! The worst was that no chip polish was removed with a sander destroying my nails for weeks. Be smarter than me and DO NOT go there. read more

Love the service you get here. If you are not satisfied they will fix your nails for you. So friendly there.

I will NEVER come back here. Worst nail technicians. She rushed through my nails. Didn't even file or shape them even though I specifically asked for them to be shortened and coffin shaped. She was done within 20 minutes. Anyone who has gotten a fill in and no chip manicure knows it takes more than 20 minutes. She missed the sides of my nails and when I pointed it out she said "oh it's okay". No, it's not. If I could give this place no stars I would. Never ever come here. read more

Extremely rude, spoke to each other the whole time in Vietnamese laughing. Would never go there again. It was supposed to be a fun time with my aunt and sister but we left annoyed. read more

terrible. would give zero stars if i could. i've been going here since i was a kid. i went not even 1 month ago and got a shape and wasn't charged for it, went monday and all of a sudden they charge for shape. Then told "tony" my nails were too thick and i didn't like them and he said "i know nail beauty" ok but i still don't like them wtf annie did great on my pedicure tho. then i usually tip after my nails have dried before i leave and so i paid and went to dry my nails and "tony" speaks in chinese but he said "annie no tip annie she left us no tip" like are you serious? you didn't know i understood huh? so rude. i'm the customer if i do not like my nails fix them and stop being arrogant. will not be coming back. read more

One of the worst nail salon experiences I have ever had. Not only did she use non-sterile equipment to remove an ingrown toenail that she did not ask me if I wanted removed. But they ground my nails so badly that I had cuts and bleeding on almost all of my fingers and my fingers were sore for almost a week afterwards. I had brought in my own bottle of OPI DS extravagance nail polish for my pedicure. She told me I did not want to use my nail polish that I should use their gel polish because it would last longer and set my nail polish next to her on the table. After numerous attempts to dry the nail polish on my toes and having the dryers not work she moved me to a different table and another dryer only to have my nails smudged repeatedly. Then they moved me to the manicure table where my fingers nails were ground so roughly that I had cuts and bleeding on almost all of my fingers. After the gel nails were applied my fingers were tender and sore for at least a week afterwards. I was going out of town the following day. I realized at that time that the girl doing my pedicure never returned my unopened, unused bottle of expensive nail polish. I called the store only to be told they did not carry that nail polish, did not have my nail polish, and did not know where my nail polish was. I was then told that I could drive all the way back out to New Lenox to look through all of their nail polish to see if I could find the nail polish in their store. I would not recommend this nail salon to anyone it was a very upsetting and disturbing experience to say the least. I also lost a $10 bottle of nail polish to someone working in their store as it was sitting right next to her on her table where her equipment was when I left the store. read more

This place is amazing. Have yet to have a bad experience I have been going for about a little over a year now. I have neuropathy in my legs and this is the first place in years that has not treated me like a I have a disease. I have no feeling in my right foot and my right leg is red and from no circulation. I am only 37. I have had several different techs and none of them make me feel uncomfortable! I have now had my sisters go there who go more often then I do. They remember about you. When I did go in they asked about my sisters heart surgery. I love this place. So friendly. Don't listen to those old comments. It is not like that any more. read more
