I have been in here a handful of times, and left happy once or twice. To start, they are very rude. I went in early so that there would be no rush, yet Linda seemed to be in a hurry anyways. Instead of fixing the nail I showed before we got started, she kept filing it and now it's noticeably smaller as well as misshapen compared to all the rest of the nails. Now on to what really drove me your writing this review. I wanted a simple design on 2 nails on each hand. They look atrocious and when I asked her to please either fix them or just paint them a solid color, she got an attitude and refused..mind you, I asked politely and without malice, even though I was unhappy with what she did. As an ex nail tech, this work and Conduct is embarrassing and shameful. They also do not sanitize their tools and I have seen others writing that they got nail fungus from this place. I used to come to this place years ago and then stopped for a while and decided to give them another try and I wished I had not. I had my nails done on Friday July 23rd and one nail fell off the same day, so I called right away and went back the next day. I asked the owner that I wanted the no chip color taken off because I was not happy with the way my nails looked and she was a little upset, but why should I pay for a service that I am not happy with. As of July 23rd 3 nails have fallen off and that brings me to what type of glue are they using? This never happened before. I am afraid of calling back again because the way the owner spoke to me when I went back and what made me more upset is that she started speaking in her language to other coworkers and I know she was talking about me and I just thought that was so unprofessional and they need to make sure the customer is always happy if they want our business. We are their business by the way. I will not be returning to this place unless they make a wrong right. I really feel like I threw away my money which I work really hard for. Thank you. read more

I go here all the time because I live close by. This place is either hit-or-miss. I have had great mani/pedis and I've had painfully bad ones too. I generally like this place only because I can walk there and it is reasonably priced. If you are high-maintenance DO NOT go here. I just moved into the neighborhood and I was looking for a place to get a decent mani/pedi. Don't go here! Their nail polish colors are awful. They have a minimum selection of Essie and OPI colors to choose from. They have a majority of no name nail polishes that I have never heard of. The worst part is the rude customer service. My technician cut my cuticle so deep that it was bleeding and she didn't even apologize! Also, while I was getting my pedi, my foot slip and I nicked some of the polish off my toes. I apologized and she rolled her eyes at me as if I did it on purpose. I will never go back here again and I recommend that no one goes here. read more

THE WORST!!!!!! I call in at like 2pm to set an appointment for a pedi because I am going to Cali next week and my feet are hurting from the Winter. So long story short a young girl picked up the phone @ Lee's and told me no worries walk right in we are open until 7. My car is in the sop so I walked about 2 miles to get there only to see 15 people who look like they are working there tell me they close at 6 (which btw it was only 5:40) and that all the nail tech's are gone. Which again 15 asians sitting around so nice lie there... I see the old lady in the back yell rudely "COME BACK MUUNNNDAAAAAAY". I really do not understand how this place can get so many bad reviews. I've been going to Lee Nails here and there since I was a senior in high school. When I moved to Lakeview I had my own local shop I frequented but when I moved back to Old Irving I had to go back here. I've never had a rushed service, rude employee, or complication. Everyone there seems professional and generally happy. I mean its their place of employment...are YOU happy at your job 24/7? What I love about Lee is that 90% of the service providers understand and speak very good English. They have two younger girls who work there who speak perfect English. There's never a misunderstanding. Thier pedis last for weeks (had mine for about 3 weeks before it started to chip...and this is with regular polish!), manis are great. Mine lasts about a week before I need a polish change, which is about normal. Also they do a fantastic job with gel nails. I got my gel fill here after a botched job from a place in schaumburg and they did miracles to my nails! Also they can do some fantastic nail art and nail shapes. $25 for spa pedi, $12 for full mani, $5 for polish change, $20+ for gel fill in, $8 for nail art. Very reasonable and affordable! If i had to give any negative feedback it would be that the space can seem a bit outdated. A little new decor and the place would be perfect! Also, they could use some new polish. It seems like they don't have as many colors as any other nail salon would. Lastly, I've never seen more than about a 10 min wait on any given Friday or Saturday, but they take appointments if you're worried about that! TIPS: they do not accept tips on credit cards, so bring cash! read more

Sloppy, expensive, unfriendly, and painful! I've been here a few times because it is close to my apartment, and have ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere. For my wedding, the girl who did my 'white & pink' gels did them WRONG and when I went back to get them filled the guy said he couldn't fill them because they were incorrect. He had to put on a fresh set and had the nerve to charge me again for it. The girl who did them was also 8 months pregnant and I can't imagine that was healthy for her and her unborn child! Once, I had a basic manicure there and the guy who did it went so fast that it was not only sloppy, but when I left I had nicks all around each nail with specks of blood. It's always really busy and I don't really understand why. It's a nice looking salon, perhaps, especially with their new nail bar on the second floor, but the service and quality are TERRIBLE. read more

My first visit here was great. I got my nails done and eyebrows waxed by the young tattooed lady. She was very detail-oriented and even got the little spots on the side of my nails that most nail techs don't bother to do. She was quick and efficient with the eyebrow wax, and made no mistakes. Both my nails and my 'brows looked great! The second time I came back here I got my legs waxed. They seemed to be very busy, but I had set an appointment for 3:00pm. I wasn't seen until about 3:30, and with an older woman with an apron (I have no idea of their names since they don't introduce themselves...). It was very rushed and very painful. She did huge sections at once and didn't even talk to me. I was ushered upstairs where I had to wait for her to guide me where to go. Minutes later, she just walked past me and into the room as I followed, not saying a word. She could've at least been a little friendlier... Overall, I was pleased with the results from both visits. There is just a varying degree of customer service and if you go with certain people you will be pleased with their customer service...others, not so much. They do a good job, they just need to be friendlier. And as for the leg waxing, I probably wouldn't come back here just because she was so brutal about it. The male tech (which has never been a problem) was staring at my chest throughout the entire pedicure. He cut me twice. Polish had bubbles. Was annoyed when I asked him to cut my nails short. I have been coming to lee nails for years. Last week I got a no chip and 4 days later the color looked like it was turning green (from light purple). I called and asked of I could come in and fix it they said yes then said they were closing early at 5pm. Called back around 7:30 to find out they were still open. I finally got a chance to go back now 6 days after my no chip and they were telling me that my nails could've not possibly been the color I was telling them. I am never one to complain especially when I like the place. I just simply wanted them to fix it after I paid $35 for a no chip that lasted 4 days. They still ended up charging me $15. Why can't you guys fix somthing that customers pay a lot of money for? I told them I would pay the $15 but it would be my last time I would be going back to them. Very sad read more

i was one of those girls. yknow, THOSE girls that had (reasonably) long nails (real ones, mind you) that delighted in DIY multi-colored, bright, look-at-my-awesome-nails-or-i-will-cut-you nails. good for confrontations at my all girls high school. good for storing food remnants for an afternoon snack. (NO, i'm not serious, silly.) ah, but that was high school, and now, i can't even bear to have 1mm of length. as a result, nail salons are a foreign concept to me. my sister took me out for a pedicure (thanks sister!) after a full day of getting things in order for my niece's first birthday celebration. even though we accidentally arrived after business hours, we were still able to get our pedicures done. ooh, hot whirlpool action. ahhhhhh, massage chair. OUCH, the tops of my feet are being scrubbed off! ...now, i have a pretty high threshold for pain, but sheesh. ...and i couldn't understand why that step was necessary either. as our pedi technicians spoke to each other in a different language, i noticed that my tech began to cry. ...no break to go to the bathroom or a moment to even wipe her tears away. for that, i can excuse the two air bubbles that she left in the top coat. i asked her if she was okay, but she didn't want to talk about it. ...miss, if you happen to read this, i hope that things have gotten better for you. : ) read more

Can't comment on service itself, since I never received any services, but I was interested in their "Party Room". I called to ask about the room and availability. When I initially called, the day I needed was available, but when I tried to reserve it over the phone I was told I could not do that because I had to pay in person. I couldn't pay over the phone? OK!?!? SO a week later I called back to confirm the day was available. The girl i talked to confirmed it was available (2 hours prior) to my arrival. When I got there the lady greeted me at the door with a smile. She asked how she could help me and I informed her that I was interested in seeing and reserving the party room. She turned and told the young girl, apparently that I wanted to make an appointment, when that was clearly NOT what I said. So I saw the room, discussed prices, and proceeded down to make the reservation. When she opened the calendar to the date, it was booked at the exact time i needed. UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE! I drove over an hour in traffic across the city to make a deposit, which most salons don't require, but fine ...their rules, but then come to find out you wasted my time, gas, energy, patience, and I PLANNED AND SEND INVITATIONS for this day and location! THANKS A LOT LEE NAILS- YOU SUCK especially with customer service. Maybe if someone ACTUALLY checked the calendar, this mishap would not exist. read more

I allowed myself a few days to reflect on my experience at Lee Nails and I unfortunately still feel the same... For years I have driven down Irving Park Rd. And noticed their establishment and have found myself intrigued to give them a try. My cousin and I had spontaneously decided to get our nails done here since this was half way point for both of us. When I arrived she was already waiting for me inside, we requested a polish change from her no chip for her, a quick polish for my daughter and a pedi for myself. My daughter was assigned a lady in the front of the store which I then informed them she would not want to sit so far away from either one of us being that they are complete strangers. Typical behavior for a child. The lady proceeded by rolling her eyes and speaking in her language, I then asked if she was able to work in a station next to my cousin where my daughter would be at ease. This "professional" opted for sticking her nose in her phone and completely IGNORING that I was speaking to her. When I said excuse me I'm speaking to you she so rudely gestured to me to shoo and said whatever it's fine. I'm not sure what sort of customer service may be acceptable in their culture but this is definitely not okay for a business to treat customer let alone a child like that! It's unfortunate that this set the tone for my visit as I was very pleased with the pedicure the man attending me provided. I felt bad that such a nice and helpful man had to be included in this horrible business. When my cousin was done with her polish she joined me by the pedicure area where the arm rest fell over her hands, the man attending me kindly suggested to ask to get it fixed and asked the lady working with her if she can please fix. Once again all the women working felt the need to speak in their native language. Who the heck was management?! And how is this ever okay?? I asked the man attending me if in their culture that wasn't considered being rude as in mine it is. They will definitely not be receiving business from us and it's unfortunate because we were truly going in thrilled to give them a shot. read more

Avoid Lee Nails! I have been cut there a few times during pedicures. They have cut me badly with a razor on the bottom of my feet and they have cut me while working on my cuticles. The last straw was when the tech cut me when cutting my toenail. His response was "You said you wanted them short." I will never go here again! Stay away unless you like to bleed! read more

The service is excellent and the nail tech I hard was great! I have never seen my nails look so good. The major issue I saw was it wasn't very clean. I noticed nail dust all over the table I was at. The tubs for the pedicures I don't think were cleaned adequately either. It is very difficult to find a nail salon open before 10 AM! Thank goodness I came across Lee Nails. Open at 9 and conveniently located in Portage Park with easily accessible parking, I hit the jackpot! The inside of the salon was very clean, and all the staff was friendly. I was there right after it opened so there was only 1 other customer besides me, and I got in and sat down super quick. My nail tech was friendly, and did a great job on my nails. I sat next to a very large TV which is always nice. The prices were reasonable, and I was very impressed with the job that was done. They are also located directly across from a Bank of America which was great considering they do not accept tips on a credit card and I did not happen to have cash on me. Glad to have found a place open so early in such a great location, I will definitely be back! read more

THIS PLACE DESERVES NO STARS. I would NOT recommend this place at all! So I went in with my friend to get two full sets done and two pedicures. My pedicure came out looking amazing. My full set on the other had was just embarrassing. I asked for coffin shaped nails and i got OVAL/ALMOND shaped and was told "that's as good as it gets". As the guy was doing my nails I noticed the paint job was off and so I asked him to do a better job and he was upset about it. The salon was packed and he was rushing to do my nails. He must have did about 5 coats on each nail and I told him it was clumpy and he disagreed. My hands went into the UV dryer 3 times and then he said I was good to go. Not even 24 hours 6 of my nails started peeling and chipping ( I got a no chip) and one nail broke as I was texting. My thumb wasn't dry the next day and I tapped my nail on the corner of my desk and it busted out like a gusher fruit snack! I called and they gave me attitude about. I set an appointment to get my nails re done and the guy never showed up! Another tech admitted my nails weren't done right but didn't want to give my money back or re do the nails. 4 days later they call so I can get them re done. I wanted them to take off the nails and get my money back and they laughed in my face and said "THIS IS A MILLION DOLLAR SALON YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY MONEY BACK" "Million dollar salon" but the way my nails turned out says different. Never have I been so disappointed. I will NEVER return to this spot again. read more

AWFUL! Went in for a 'no chip' manicure and I will never go back. Ever. I travel often for work so even though it's twice as much for the 'no chip' it's worth the time saved ('guaranteed' to last 2 weeks) and the professional appearance ('guaranteed' to not chip). Well folks, mine chipped. After 2 days. And 5 days later is destroyed. When I went into the salon, they informed me they were not going to fix it and said they never guaranteed me it would last 2 weeks. They refused to do anything for me which is unfortunate because I go for a mani/pedi every two weeks like clock work... and tip very well. I have a regular nail place that I love. I only went here because my daughter's friend invited us and said really good things about it. The service was abysmal. We had asked for them to seat us all together when we made the appointment. It would be one thing if it just weren't possible. In our case, it felt like they went out of their way to keep us apart. Miraculously, just as all of our pedicures began, a spot opened up that would have brought us all together. Instead of moving one of us, they put a stranger there. They shaped my toenails in the oddest manner possible. How hard is it to just cut straight across? They gave me a hard time when I requested that they just cut them straight across and keep them short. That cannot be a strange request. They charged me full price for a mani/pedi for a 5 year old - even though all they did was apply polish. She had a fingernail that needed to be trimmed. They painted it even though it was scraggly. There was polish all over her cuticles. They missed a major spot on my chin wax and refused to fix it then - or the next day when I spoke to the owner. They were happy to do the wax the next day - for full price. We weren't there at a terribly busy time, yet they rushed us out the door. I asked if we could wait until our toes were dry. They shoved plastic bags on our feet and insisted we were fine. Not the case. We all have smudged nails - even the kids. Best pedi EVER! Daniel took his time and even got that deep ingrown nail out of my big toe! Oh what a relief! Very polite. The no chip mani looks great too! But the pedi I received was the frigging BOMB! By the way to the lady making a big deal outta no tips on a credit card needs to get with the program! Credit card tips are taxed, not by the owners choice, to the employee who was tipped. Then the credit card processing company charges 3% or more to the merchant (owner) to process that charge. The owner charges that 3% back to the employee. Then the government taxes the owner for that tip in the form of withholding tax. By the time everyone pays the fees and taxes on a credit card tip there's barely a tip left!! NEVER tip anyone on a credit card! CASH ONLY when tipping anywhere is the rule! It's not being sneaky as that lady eluded to, it's small business survival 101! read more

I have been going to Lee nails for 5 years now. Charlie is one of the most talented nail techs I have met and I have met A LOT. He has taken the best care of me and all that I have referred to him. I work on my feet and have gone to him just for foot massages because he is that good. I am completely relaxed with him and know that I am in good hands. I have recently moved to a place where there is a nail salon on every block but I still travel to six corners to see him. He comes highly recommended and remember to tip accordingly read more
