No sauce SMH

I've been to this location 3 times since they opened and it always leaves much to be desired. They add little to no sauce on your pizza and the flavors are incredibly inconsistent. I do not recommend.

While I liked the taste of the pizza, I found that the toppings and cheese didn't stay on top very well.

I am officially obsessed with Mia's. It is my go-to for anything Italian. You legitimately can't…read morego wrong here. The food is divine - house made pastas, fluffy pizzas, simple yet sophisticated salads (strawberry arugula with the straciatella is chef's kiss). This place is no secret. I highly recommend getting a reservation. Don't be deterred if OpenTable doesn't have availability. If you call and are kind to the host staff, I have found that they can sometimes squeeze you in. The downstairs is loud and vibrant, while the upstairs is a bit sexier with velvet drapes, paintings, and dim lighting. It can get a little loud, but you will be too busy eating the best Italian food around to really notice. It is a must-go.

I had an experience at Mia's last weekend that I am still a bit disturbed by. At brunch, I…read morereported my food allergies to my server. I have a few, and they are severe. My server was told that one of my allergens was not in any of the house made menu items, but they couldn't guarantee that it wasn't in the store-bought items the kitchen uses. Fine enough-it's a lesser known allergen and it can be hard to pinpoint whether it is in every item. But what is not fine is that I was not then given clear information about what menu items were safe to order and which I needed to avoid. ***That is the entire point of asking who at the table has food allergies.*** And helping them avoid their allergens is the absolute bare minimum duty of care for a restaurant to a guest with food allergies. My server then sent over the manager, a middle aged white man with a beard. He came over and repeated what the server had said verbatim, like that statement had at all solved the problem of what was safe for me to eat. He got annoyed when I told him that response was inadequate. As a restaurant manager, you are supposed to be the expert for your establishment. Answering those questions is a regular part of the job. This manager made it clear that he felt like his job was done by repeating that statement and sounded like he thought I was asking for the moon to want more information. It was clear that he either didn't understand the problem or just didn't care to know it. He was not interested in helping me any further. He even insinuated that having allergies should exclude me from eating out at all, which is an absolutely wild take from a restaurant employee. There are some allergy patients for whom that is true, but most of us manage just fine with a little help. I was pretty floored that he wouldn't just make some simple menu recommendations so that I could finish my brunch in peace. When I persisted in trying to get an answer, he finally got annoyed enough to start rattling off that my allergen was not in the pizzas or pastas-the very information I had been asking him for repeatedly. Had he just led with the information I needed, we might have had a much more pleasant interaction. I reported the altercation and my astonishment about his attitude to my server. Thankfully she flagged the problem ingredients in the next course and made alternate recommendations. The food runners also demonstrated that they took the issue seriously. They all took very good care of me from that point on. At the begining of the meal, I would have been very leery of recommending Mia's to anyone with food allergies. My server and her colleagues worked hard to turn that concern entirely around. The food and service were lovely and I hope to be back. But I would really like to recommend that the unpleasant manager get some remedial training about how to assist guests with food allergies, because he clearly does not know how to do it. And the kitchen should have been able to provide that information as well. I really hope that the owner or someone else in management takes this issue seriously. Because it is a huge liability and a horrible image for the representative of a restaurant to be so cavalier about the possibility of causing a medical emergency. Food allergies really are no laughing matter, and it's alarming to see someone in food service be so ignorant of the risks and so uncaring about whether their food sends you to the hospital that day. Considering how well the entire rest of the meal went, I really expected better. Hopefully this can be a teaching experience so that history does not repeat itself.

My community service group had a celebratory lunch at this establishment in July. I was in…read morecommunication with the manager planning this event for 15 people for about a month. The booking and execution went smoothly and without a hitch. This restaurant has been in Clinton for decades and is well known in the area but this is the first time I've personally been there. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant at a more private larger dining area. We realized that some of the staff came in early to accommodate our time because the restaurant wasn't even open for business yet. We were impressed by this. The menu was the typical Italian with calamari, bread, spaghetti, lasagna and the like dishes. As I said previously this restaurant has been in Clinton for years and the decor shows that. It's not really modern but hey maybe that's the appeal. For a slightly larger party they only took one check which was a bit of an inconvenience but we knew before hand and made adjustments. They did allow every one to pay for the alcoholic beverages separately. I would definitely go again. This is a very welcoming cozy Clinton landmark.

We had a really great server and an even more exceptional manager who walked around to ensure all the patrons were having a good experience. I had a spaghetti dish and my aunt had salmon. Unfortunately the food was incredibly bland or over salted. There were definitely some issues with seasoning. I hate to leave this review because I thought the service was impeccable but I wasn't sure how to tell the waiter that the food wasn't great and we were afraid to ask for something else that may fall short of expectations. Either way, I may visit in the future as I hope it was a one off, but not anytime soon unfortunately.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience…read more My son ordered a cheesesteak with cheese, ketchup, and mayo. He was so excited because he had the exact same sandwich last weekend and absolutely loved it. He had been talking about getting another one all week. Unfortunately, what we received today was nothing like the sandwich he enjoyed before. The cheesesteak was completely flattened, almost as if it had been pressed through a panini maker. It lacked the appearance, texture, and overall quality of the sandwich we expected. My son was immediately disappointed, and as a parent, it was frustrating to see after he had been looking forward to it so much. To make matters worse, I drove a total of 30 minutes round trip specifically to get this sandwich, only to end up with a product that was not worth the time, money, or effort. When customers return because they enjoyed a previous experience, they expect consistency. Sadly, that was not the case here. Between the poor quality of the sandwich, the disappointment it caused my son, and the money spent on something that did not meet expectations, I can honestly say I will not be returning. Very disappointing experience.
