The food was pretty great here, but like other people have already said, this place can really be a hit or miss. I ordered two different 14" pizzas (Italian White and Ledo Deluxe) and 12 wings (Hot Honey and Buffalo). The pizza was great, but there was a problem with the wings. For being "Ledo Jumbo Wings", they're hardly THAT big. Other places have wings that are far bigger and they aren't even advertised as jumbo. Another issue was that the wings were lacking on the sauce - somehow for both! I ended up getting plain wings for one half even though they both should have been flavoured. And for the other one that had sauce, again, it was lacking. The wings still tasted good, but they still weren't exactly what I ordered. I ordered for carry out, but I still should've got what I paid for. That also applies to everyone else ordering. I think they'll improve if they add more sauce and get orders right especially if Ledo apparently doesn't cut corners. read more

Pizza is very unpredictable here. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's not. We had plenty of pizzas here at least 2-3 per month. Complaints: Sometimes, you get it burnt. The next time you get it with not enough sauce, then hardly any cheese -like a bread and sauce pie instead, another time the crust was very dry - like pre-made and left to sit out an hour or two until they make your pizza. Our last pizza was 16 inches instead of the advertised 18 inches, I called to ask why the pizza is smaller and they blame the size on the box... "The box is just big" LOL Whaaaat? I can't get what the problem is with this place? Sometimes the pizza is really great, and other times, it's awful. This has been going on for at least a year. 10/3/2024 Damascus Ledo, Ordered 18 bone-in Buffalo style wings. Ledo's wings were good until this order. We were very disappointed in the wings. We ordered the wings with Extra sauce. Well we did not get extra sauce. We even paid extra for the "extra" sauce. By the looks and taste of them, the wings did not get a regular saucing. Ledo's is a convenient local pizza joint that serves up a lot of tatsy pizza, pasta and even amazingly tasty hamburgers! Yes, the burgers were actually better than the calzone. The calzone was too dry (no sauce over the top) a lot of bread and not much pepperoni inside. Really hate leaving a negative review for Ledo Pizza... I am a regular carryout customer of Ledo's for the past few years. On New Year's Eve I decided to host a small party and ordered two large pizza's, a gluten free pizza, and small batch of chicken wings. Positives: -Servers on the phone taking orders is always friendly and repeats the order for corrections -Pizza is always tasty and hot! Negatives: -FOOD POISONING! The whole party (8) including myself were sick. I won't describe in detail but it wasn't pretty. -Called the restaurant to speak to a manager on duty to see if we can get some type of compensation. Replies with no and it explains there was no proof all of us getting sick was from their restaurant, and there was nothing she could do. The manager did apologize but she explained to me it could have been caught from other people etc. and claims she never had food poisoning before. I guess that's why she didn't have sympathy for us, she didn't know how it felt. LOL A little disappointed in the response but I did report so other's can be careful. Won't be ordering carryout from here. :-( read more

UPDATE: Per their agents suggestion I contacted their website with my complaint. Their telephone response to my complaint was (as taken verbatim from the transcribed voicemail left) that in "reference to a complaint that I received in regards to a credit card over the phone if you could um just for a little exclamation we do that for fraudulent cards has nothing to do with Covid because people will send in false credit card information over the phone and then we lose the money". So, in hearing back from them I can see that the rudeness displayed at this Damascus Ledo location is condoned by their corporate office. When this store was called the Covid concern was explained to the person answering the phone... there was no response or alternate ordering suggestion made to us just a simple "we don't take credit cards over the phone". In final resolve it appears as though this Damascus Ledos is more concerned about losing the cost of a single pizza than it is about customer service. This said, they will now have one less customer to service. Original complaint: I guess I'm going to have to leave a single star only because Yelp does not allow a review to leave none. After testing positive for Covid and isolating we called this Ledos in the hope of contactless pick up and ordering some food for dinner since with other people living in our house we did not want to use our kitchen and risk exposure to other family members. Before we could even place our order the kid who answered the phone said "we don't take credit cards over the phone". With that said...we immediately ceased with our order and hung up. My guess is that they would have preferred having us place the order and come in and pick it up and risk exposing the entire restaurant versus extend a simple courtesy to a couple hungry people who were simply trying to keep others safe. I've never had a knack for Ledo's or understood the Damascus-rave about it. The pizza is thin which is fine but the dough/crust is never cooked consistently and sometimes feels almost raw. The toppings are never the same and you never know how much you'll get on a pizza even if you've ordered the same pizza dozens of times before. I also was disappointed by the size of their wings. I frequently come here but after my last encounter I'm never coming back. The manager (caucasian dude with crooked brown teeth) was terribly rude, a jerk, did not even care to acknowledge me. The associates were just plain rude, I don't know their names but both were extremely over weight looked like high school kids, Caucasian female ) They charge $1 for ranch/ ketchup they gave me a DRY gyro .... And didn't even want to add more sauce on the gyro, They're CHEAP, and the service is Terrible!!!! The manager stated "it costs us money to buy sauce so you have to pay for it". me thinks this Ledo's location cuts corners! We avoid going here at all cost but once in a while we give in -- in hopes they may have improved. Out last carry out pizza (large) was thinner than a flour Tortilla, including the tomato sauce/cheese. A plain pizza is $18 out the door, for what, an half an ounce of this, half an ounce of that....pffttt. As others reviewers have claimed, the ingredient ratios are way off. read more

I've been eating Ledo's for 30 years and likely won't stop because they got me young.. BUT I just have to finally leave this review. It is OUTRAGEOUS that I have to wonder every time I order a pizza from them if I'm going to like it or not. Why do I have to wonder that? Because the pizzas are never consistent. The entire point of a franchise is to standardize your product across all locations so if someone in one location travels to another location and wants the same pizza, they can get it. When you go to a dominos, you get the exact pizza you want every time because they make it the same at every location. Same with McDonald's, same with Applebee's, same with every restaurant chain in existence... except Ledo Pizza. Somehow this very basic and essential principle of starting a franchise eluded them at the start, and has never been corrected. To make matters worse, the owner(s) KNOW that they can't make a consistent pizza. Why do you think they lift the lid and show you the pizza every time? It's a preventive measure to reduce the number of angry customers. Since they know they can't figure out how to make the pizza the same every time (hint: measuring cups and a constant heat/speed should do the trick!), they figure the next best thing is to give the customer a chance to request a better pizza after seeing the monstrosity that was baked for them the first time. And who doesn't love waiting in a Ledo Pizza an extra 20 minutes to get a new pizza!? I personally have nothing better to do ever so this policy works great for me. If you love the rush of spending $16 and a trip to the store to only maybe get a pizza that you like, this is the chain for you! read more

Loved the hot boar sausage so much that I requested she bring me another order of boar sausage to top off the rest of my salad. Read how disappointed several yelpers were with the pizza, so decided to go with their signature salad with their signature dressing, Washed it down with a glass of chianti. Tasted my dining companion's fettuccine Alfredo and was underwhelmed. Had I ordered that instead of my salad, I would subtract a couple of stars. Waitress was sweet and accommodating. Living in Damascus brings a certain wary eye to Ledos. I had a lot of friends work there over the years, so I can say with authority that their kitchen staff doesn't take things too seriously ... meaning, don't expect Gordon Ramsay to be baking your food back there. It's a 17 year old who is reading from a pamphlet on calzones, or a Hispanic guy working his third job that day who could make your pizza with his eyes closed... and often does. Waiters are always, ALWAYS work-permit-aged girls who try hard, but really don't know how the service industry works yet. Food is pretty standard fare, their buffalo pizza with the chicken and hot sauce is my favorite, but absolutely horrible for you. You can feel the food just sit in your heart valves. Still, not awful. The new location, down by the Post Office, is much nicer than the older one. It's brighter, more windows and new, clean carpets. It's ... OK. If you find yourself stuck, car broken down in front of the restaurant, go ahead and give it a try. Otherwise, save up for a trip to the Adelphi location (still the best), so maybe venture up to Frederick or to Rockville for better fare. read more

Holy Christ on a crutch! This place is still open?! I used to go to high school down the street from here. One of us would sneak out of woodworking class (Teacher's name was Mr. Eilers. This is my go-to pizza place! Anybody whose anybody knows that Ledo's has the best pizza around. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because aside from the pizza, I have had one or two meals other than pizza that left something to be desired, but that won't deter me from coming back! Yesterday I order their new Mediterranean dish, the Fettuccinni Filomena. I have had other pastas in the past like the chicken and broccoli fettuccini alfredo and that was delicious. I especially love the garlic bread that comes with it. Just with this new pasta, it was very lemon-tasting, more than I''d like and it took over the dish. Plus, there was not enough chicken on the dish in my opinion, only a few pieces here and there. Maybe I am just not a fan of this particular Mediterranean dish. Otherwise, any pizza I have gotten here has been delicious, consistent and always made fresh and fast. I can pick up the pizza within 10 minutes of calling. Our go-to is the pepperoni, but I do switch it up from time to time with some added bacon or sausage. Really, any pizza there is delicious. Go get some! read more

The reviews for this location are amusing. I don't know anything about the original Ledo Pizza, or which one is best. I do know that my wife and I have two kids and live in Damascus, where there aren't many places to eat out... Ledo Pizza is perfectly acceptable. Pizza ranges from okay to good. Some people love it. Their red sauce is solid. My family really likes the pasta there. Service, as previously mentioned by other reviewers is... handled by kids. It used to be a lot worse actually, this isn't fine dining folks. Bottom line, we can go with the kids during the week occasionally, and my 4 yr old can act up some, and we don't get served bad food, and it's a reasonable price. read more

It's a great, local place to either dine in (never crowded) or carry-out (we mostly carry-out). It's kind of expensive, but I'm okay with it since we only get food from here maybe once a month. Don't bother asking for extra cheese; there never seems to be any. It's great, sweet, greasy pizza. The other food on the menu is good, too. My other dislike is after they make the pizzas, they just sit on the counter waiting to be picked up; no way for them to stay warm. So don't take too long to get there or you will have cold pizza. read more

I tried to order a ledos delux pizza, as I've done for about 8 years. I always change some of the toppings, because I prefer more vegetables, but the girl on the phone told me this time that I'd have to do a build your own pizza, since I changed toppings. And of course that was more expensive. I've never encountered such horrible customer service from my favorite pizza chain. I guess it's time to move on to someone else. I think most people either really like Ledo's pizza, or really hate it. I'm sort of in the middle, but my mom loves it so it was a frequent take-out place when I was younger. I'm not a huge fan of the regular pizza because to me it tastes soggy and greasy (except for the pieces with crust, they're acceptable). However, I LOVE the white pizza, it's exactly what white pizza should be like. Recently, I've only gotten takeout when at my parents house so I haven't been inside this actual place since high school so I can't really comment on the service, although when I was in high school it was mostly apathetic high school students working so I imagine it's still the same. read more
