Until 3 days after we pulled from the lot "sold as is" and we were over come with the awful stench of DOG URINE . We put the inside under a black light after dark and it looks like several dogs pissed every where inside the van. We wanted to have the van property cleaned and detailed, but we had (3) quotes with the cost to do it right at $1,500 and the detailers stated that they must remove the carpet from the van to get all the bacteria out of the carpet and the floor under the carpeting, and that they need the car for 48 hours to do it properly and ensure they get the stink out permanently. We called Merchants Manager of Internet sales and their Service Mgr, and we walked thru the 3 quotes with them to see if they would even consider splitting the cost. They refused but did agree to clean it, but they did not do it properly, they had the car for 12 hours. When the wife goes to pick it up she is sold a load of BS from the Service Manager. The stench is back now that the car is sitting in the sun, and Merchants is not returning the wife's phone calls. We are just at the beginning of a one man and woman very public campaign of transparency and how they hid this condition from us. The beauty of our campaign for Merchants transparency is not going to cost us a cent, and yet Merchants will never be able to quantify how many used car sales they may have lost out on. If you are in the neighborhood keep your eyes open for Transparency the signs will be very visible and many.

WARNING: SCAMMED BY RV DEALERSHIP…read more I was sold a 2022 Jayco RV that was advertised as "like new" and "fully functional." I paid $12,000 and made it clear I was new to RV ownership--thinking honesty would be met with integrity. I was so wrong. They offered "free delivery and setup" with a walkthrough. What I got? A guy who could barely park the RV (under 24 feet), no walkthrough, and no power cord--then he vanished. It was 98° and I had no electricity, no AC, no water. When I called, they told me "RVs don't come with power cords." When Amazon finally delivered one, I plugged it in... and WATER POURED OUT of the RV. The entire water heater was cracked. THAT'S why they didn't include a cord or setup--it would've been discovered instantly. When I contacted them, they: Insulted me Told me it's not their problem I'm a "newbie" Refused ANY refund And threatened to press harassment charges if I contacted them again They had the nerve to admit they knew it was defective before selling it! That's not all: Awning = broken Kitchen sink = broken TV = missing Multiple undisclosed defects They preyed on my inexperience, lied about the RV, and tried to intimidate me into silence. If you're a first-time buyer or shopping for an RV--do not trust a word they say. Get everything in writing, and assume you're walking into a scam. #RVScam #JaycoRV #RVNightmare #ConsumerFraud #RVLife #BuyerBeware #RVAdvice #RVCommunity #RVNewbie #RVFail #ScamAlert #RVDealershipFraud

Before we went through the process I told him (Mike) that I didn't have very good credit and that my mom might be able to co-sign. Mike urged me to try on my own. I hesitantly agreed and filled out the paper work. He suggested that I put a deposit down to hold onto the car; knowing that I more than likely wouldn't be approved for the loan on my own I asked if the $100 deposit was refundable. He said "yea of course, I'm not going to burn any bridges over $100". He also said that if I wasn't approved the money would be refunded. I went home and he called me the next business day and told me what I already knew, that I wasn't approved for the loan and to go ahead and ask my mom. I told him that my mom would either co-sign for a car or an apartment, I was not sure. I spoke with my mom and she wanted to think it over. A few days went by and Mike called me back and I told him that my mom would prefer to co-sign for an apartment rather than a vehicle but I would try to talk to her and see if I could sway her. Mike said okay and that was that. I called him back with no answer a few days later. It was the holidays so I am assuming he was out because of this, which is understandable. I then called him a week later and got an answer, he told me he was with a customer and would call me back in 15 minutes; he never did. After a few days from that point, I called him back to reconfirm that my mother would not do it, he said he remembered me telling him that and it was not a problem. I asked him if the $100 deposit would automatically post to me account and he said that the money was gone and was not going to be refunded. I was taken back since he had previously said he wasn't going to burn any bridges over $100 and said it was completely refundable. He than read a paper that I signed stating that it was not refundable, even though he had mentioned it verbally... both that he wasn't going to burn and bridges and that if i wasn't approved it would be refunded. It does say that any other agreement, verbally or written wouldn't be recognized, almost like he covers his behind so he can say one thing but put another in small writing. We spoke for about 30 minutes on the phone, I told him I couldn't believe he was risking his business reputation over $100. I told him that I was shocked that he was conducting business this way. When speaking to him about this situation it was like he was a different person. He was very rude and refused to work with me. All of this over $100. Mike at Goulet conducts bad business practices and does not keep his word.

Turns out it was a "Large Leak" in the EVAP system (according to the diagnostic test). Not only did Mike basically say, "Not my problem!" he had the following colorful remarks: "I'm gonna be TOTALLY HONEST WITH YOU. You got the wrong car. Your son wasn't even interested in this car - we can get him into something more modern - like a Camry." FOUR DAYS AFTER LEAVING THE LOT: "I'm not saying this [that the likely solution to the Check Engine light was a new gas cap] just to get you off the phone. Let me know what happens when you speak to the mechanic and we'll figure it out. I will always take your calls. we want you to be satisfied with your purchase." Nice! Promising! THE NEXT DAY (five days post-purchase): [In confrontational tone] "I'm not sending you a check [local mechanic estimated that the fix would cost $200]. If you think that's what's going to happen, that's never gonna happen. If that's where this is going, let me tell you right now, I will not send you a check." Aaaaaaand... there he is, the stereotypical used car dealer. (Note: I did not ask him for a check.) Me: "You're ok with the fact that two days after driving off the lot, the Check Engine light comes on and requires a repair?" Mike: "Yes I am. You should have gotten a warranty." (Warranty was never offered.) "I am not doing anything for you and I'm hanging up." Classy, huh? In summary, this place does not stand behind what it sells, and feels free to make disparaging commentary about your teenaged son if requested to make good on its representations. Guys like this are why "used car dealer" is shorthand for deception, sleaze and fraud.

Bought a 2007 Volvo XC90 with roughly 115k. It now has 130k. I recently brought it to the local Volvo mechanics and they have found roughly $2,000 worth of work that needs to be done. Front control arm bushing, upper torque mount, right front axel. Found out the little piece you pull to get the hood open was installed wrong.. The middle console is broken and I was told it would be replaced, which it wasnt. The oil drain plug was screwed in so tight that 2 shops were not able to get it out (the third, Volvo specialists, were able to get it out). I almost had to replace the oil pan. Normally I would have brought it to a mechanic to check first but there was a snow storm that day and I needed a car. I figured I was buying a quality vehicle. I would steer clear of this place.
