My friend needed a car immediately. Suffice to say she didn't have good credit, good income, or a good anything-record. She's a good person--she just had a long run of bad luck. She was on the mend. And she really needed this car. Ron was not a salesman. He was a social worker. He not only heard her story and lowered the amount that she had to make a downpayment for, but gave her just the car she needed. It was barely driven and served ALL of her needs. She has 5 kids. She'll be able to make the payments. She almost cried and said that she had never made any purchase in her name before. It was a life-affirming moment. I was so touched by the sensitivity of Mr. Semons. But, I'll go further to say that the dealership is very welcoming. Everyone smiled when they greeted you. It was like a happy family. And that's how it was run until it was sold to the management. There are some dealerships that look you up and down if you don't look like you have money. These people seem happy to work there. They're doing a wonderful service. I don't know about the 1-star reviews for the dealership. But my guess is that they didn't have Ron Semons. He has managed car dealerships before, so he knows customer service. I told him that I would write him a glowing review. Tell him you read this review. That's carte blanche. He'll treat you well. Lots of salt crust on the floor mats, dirt on the upholstery, a stain on the headliner from when I accidentally left the sunroof open in the rain, and general scuffs and grime. When I picked it up, it was so shiny that it looked brand new. The interior was so clean that I couldn't even find a speck of dust or dirt ANYWHERE. I dropped the car off at 8am and Ron, the owner, was kind enough to drive me to work down in Manchester.He said he could pick me up too, but my husband was available - but he was nice to offer anyway! The full detail cost $199.00, as advertised. I am extremely happy with their work and would happily recommend them to anyone. Your son wasn't even interested in this car - we can get him into something more modern - like a Camry." FOUR DAYS AFTER LEAVING THE LOT: "I'm not saying this [that the likely solution to the Check Engine light was a new gas cap] just to get you off the phone. Let me know what happens when you speak to the mechanic and we'll figure it out. I will always take your calls. we want you to be satisfied with your purchase." Nice! Promising! THE NEXT DAY (five days post-purchase): [In confrontational tone] "I'm not sending you a check [local mechanic estimated that the fix would cost $200]. If you think that's what's going to happen, that's never gonna happen. If that's where this is going, let me tell you right now, I will not send you a check." Aaaaaaand... there he is, the stereotypical used car dealer. (Note: I did not ask him for a check.) Me: "You're ok with the fact that two days after driving off the lot, the Check Engine light comes on and requires a repair?" Mike: "Yes I am. You should have gotten a warranty." (Warranty was never offered.) "I am not doing anything for you and I'm hanging up." Classy, huh? In summary, this place does not stand behind what it sells, and feels free to make disparaging commentary about your teenaged son if requested to make good on its representations. Guys like this are why "used car dealer" is shorthand for deception, sleaze and fraud.

Bought a 2007 Volvo XC90 with roughly 115k. It now has 130k. I recently brought it to the local Volvo mechanics and they have found roughly $2,000 worth of work that needs to be done. Front control arm bushing, upper torque mount, right front axel. Found out the little piece you pull to get the hood open was installed wrong.. The middle console is broken and I was told it would be replaced, which it wasnt. The oil drain plug was screwed in so tight that 2 shops were not able to get it out (the third, Volvo specialists, were able to get it out). I almost had to replace the oil pan. Normally I would have brought it to a mechanic to check first but there was a snow storm that day and I needed a car. I figured I was buying a quality vehicle. I would steer clear of this place.
