After looking at the picturesque views online and the absolutely perfect weather, I was really looking forward to golfing at Leatherstocking. Our group had some guys who haven't played in a few years to some that play every week. So definitely a varying degrees of skills were ready to take on the challenge.
Let me start off by saying we paid $110 per person, that's right, per person to play at Leatherstocking. Mind you that was with a coupon.... a $10 coupon from online, the only discount that they offered. After paying that much to play here, I had extremely high expectations. After not playing for several years, I didn't think this course was too tough, having even gotten a few pars and if my chipping/putting were sharper, I may have faired a bit more.
The golf club was nice for sure. The views on the laying lake was great. However, there was a road right in the middle of the course to another outlaying club, and I've never seen a semi drive right across a course! This truck and numerous other cars didn't mind, and didn't stop as we were playing along!. The facilities, and the lack of attention to detail weren't elevated to my high expectations. There were points where sand traps could've been, and also places for more finer touches for a $100+ a round course. It was a nice day for golf, and I'll always remember it, but do yourself a favor, and don't waste your money by playing at leatherstocking. read more
