Few places in American sports carry the weight, history, and personality of Fenway Park. What can…read morepossibly be said about this legendary ballpark that hasn't already been written thousands of times before? As it turns out... quite a lot. Stepping inside Fenway feels less like entering a stadium and more like walking into a living museum dedicated to baseball itself. Every section, corridor, and seat seems to hold a story from generations past. The famous ballpark is steeped in rich history, both widely known and perhaps not so well known to the casual observer. Our tour guide did a fantastic job bringing that history to life, walking us through everything from the Curse of the Bambino to the legendary Green Monster, the Red Seat, and countless stories in between. Hearing the background behind these iconic moments while standing in the very place where they occurred adds an entirely different level of appreciation for the game and for the city of Boston itself. One of the most fascinating stops was the Red Seat, marking the location of Ted Williams' incredible 502-foot home run -- the longest ever measured at Fenway Park. Standing there gives you a genuine sense of awe at what was accomplished in an era long before modern analytics and technology transformed the sport. Of course, no discussion of Fenway would be complete without mentioning the Green Monster looming over left field. Seeing it in person is something every baseball fan should experience at least once. Television simply cannot capture its scale, character, or the strange charm it brings to the ballpark. What makes Fenway truly special, however, is not simply the architecture or the statistics -- it's the feeling that baseball history still lives here. Unlike many modern stadiums that can sometimes feel overly commercialized or sterile, Fenway Park has retained its soul. The imperfections are part of the magic. Narrow concourses, aging beams, hand-operated scoreboards, and seats with imperfect sightlines somehow combine to create an experience that feels authentic rather than manufactured. Whether you are a lifelong baseball fan or simply someone who appreciates history and tradition, a visit to Fenway Park is absolutely worth your time. It is far more than just the home of the Boston Red Sox -- it is a living piece of American sports history that continues to stand the test of time.

Apparently customers are just supposed to magically know about it. My wife and I bought tickets for the TWICE concert about a week before, and nowhere on the ticket site was this made clear in a way that actually helped us. We only found out after arriving that only bags under a certain size are allowed inside. If your bag is too big, you have to go downstairs to bag check and pay $15 for them to hold it. So not only are you inconvenienced, you also get charged extra because TD Garden could not be bothered to clearly warn people ahead of time. If we had known, we would have left the bag in the car. Simple. What made it much worse was security. I do not know if they work for TD Garden or some outside company, but they were some of the rudest, most useless people I have dealt with in a long time. From the second we got there, they had attitude. Instead of acting professional and helping people, they looked more interested in flirting, acting cool, and doing the bare minimum. They stopped us because of my wife's bag. My wife is pregnant, so she had important things in it that she needed. Instead of explaining anything clearly, all they kept saying was, "Your bag is too big, go downstairs." That was it. No real directions, no patience, no help. Since it was our first time there, we asked where exactly to go. Same answer: "Just go downstairs." We ended up following other confused people to find the bag check area. That made it obvious this was not just us. A lot of people clearly had no idea about this policy either. Honestly, it started feeling like a scam. So many people show up unaware, get sent downstairs, and suddenly have to pay $15. That should have been clearly stated before people even bought tickets. Then came the worst part: getting the bag back. After the concert, every single person who checked a bag had to go to one single bag claim area. One. For an entire event. So now you have one huge crowded line of tired, frustrated people all trying to get their stuff back at the same time. Whoever thought that was a good system should be embarrassed. My wife is pregnant. She could not stand in that packed line that long, especially with nowhere to sit. There were no chairs, no sitting area, no accommodation, nothing. Just a crowded mess. And because it was only the two of us, I was not about to leave my pregnant wife standing there alone while I ran around trying to fix it. So we explained the situation to security and told them clearly that my wife is pregnant and could not stand in that line like that. Their response? "Get back in line." No concern, no solution, no basic decency. Just "get back in line." One guard told me they could not help. The guard my wife spoke to laughed in her face. Laughed. That was the point where this stopped being an inconvenience and became disgusting. The only reason this got resolved at all was because another person near the front of the line was kind enough to get our bags for us. A complete stranger showed us more compassion than the entire security staff. To that person, thank you again. We are still incredibly grateful. That is why TD Garden gets one star. If you are going to have a strict bag policy, clearly warn people before they arrive. And if you are going to force people into bag check, then at least have a better system and some basic accommodations for people who physically cannot stand in a long crowded line. Most of all, hire better security, because the people working that night were rude, dismissive, immature, and completely unhelpful.

Saw Boston College take on the University of Miami at Alumni Stadium on a brisk Friday evening…read more Despite long lines managed to grab a beer during halftime, but did not order any food. Quality I spent many Saturdays cheering for the Eagles football team during my college years and it was a blast coming back. For an exciting televised match-up, fans from both teams packed the stadium creating one of the best atmospheres I could remember at Alumni Stadium. However, even on days when the stadium is empty for a dud of a game, it still makes for a fun afternoon. The one caveat is always the weather, which can quickly ruin a good time. Quantity Alumni Stadium has a capacity of around 45,000, but you will hardly ever see it close to that packed. It does not compete with some of the mega stadiums around college football, but it ensures everyone has a good view of the action. Value Even for the bigger games, tickets are not too hard to come by and usually are reasonably priced. It usually is a matter of how well the opposing team travels. Beers and food are overpriced in the stadium, but that is to be expected. Ambiance Alumni Stadium sits on the Boston College Chestnut Hill campus right outside the city of Boston. It is strictly a college stadium and serves a smaller campus population, so does not compare to the mega stadiums for professional teams or many public universities. Its most recent renovations came in 1995, but the stadium has been maintained well and still feels relatively new. Massive screens on the ends make sure you can enjoy the game regardless of where you sit, but most seats keep you close to the field. Proximity of the field to the nearby reservoir does create a breeze, which on already cool days can feel even cooler. Just make sure to dress warm. Crowd The stadium is often empty for Saturday afternoon kickoffs, but for a big game under the lights the place was rocking. Unfortunately the stadium was not ready for the big crowd, and limited bathrooms and concession stands meant lines stretching around the stadium. However, the fans are some of the most laid-back and polite people you will meet at a college football game. Service While Alumni Stadium is a modern facility, it struggles with large crowds. Even with staff working fast and hard, lines quickly form near the concessions areas. The good things are they are adept at getting folks into the stadium quickly and despite the more crowded game, the bathrooms were kept in good shape. Parking The campus has limited parking on an average day, so during football games things get out of hand. Car service companies or public transportation are the better options to get to and from the stadium. Extra Even as a graduate of Boston College with many fond memories, I have no illusion that Alumni Stadium is a great place to see a game. However, it gets the job done and the friendly fans make it a fun atmosphere to enjoy some football.

Concession stands could be a bit better too. I got a puni lil hot dog for 4.50 so no need to stress how expensive that is. Also, they should separate the line for food and beer. Most ppl are ordering beer while you wait in a tremendously long line to get your expensive food. Guess it's to be expected since it's a stadium but at least dont give us the smallest hot dogs in the world. I get huge filling ones at Costco for 1.50 that's including a drink.

I ordered my usual Greek salad with salmon. Salmon was good crispy on the outside tender flaky inside. Salad greens were fresh and crunch, veggies cucumbers tomatoes and bell peppers fresh. Overall healthy and tasty meal. Hubs got his usual beet salad with salmon which he enjoyed as well. A friend ordered chicken tenders and fries which looked really good and she enjoyed it too. My friend and I both got hot waters which they accommodated no problem. Parking was easy - we lucked out and got parking in the lot behind the restaurant itself! Karaoke was super fun as usual! Ever sing karaoke? But have you tried it with an actual live band? Tempo just started doing this…read moreevery Thursday night, featuring the band Five Minutes of Fame! No cover charge even! I can't think of any other place in the greater Boston area that does this and they are amazing. They have a list of songs they can play on demand that is over 16 pages long, covering anything from pop, rock, country, RnB, ballads, showtunes, to metal. They give you an iPad with the lyrics mounted on a mic stand, a full four piece band (guitar, drums, bass, and keyboards), and the spotlight on stage. The crowd is so into it, it does not matter if this is the first time you've tried it or if you're a pro. Seriously, you can not find anything else like this out there of this quality for free. And for it to happen at a quality dining establishment is crazy. Make sure to come early (they start at 8:30pm) as the list fills up fast. Even the bar staff gets into it, and they are amazing.
