Learning Lab has been a wonderful blessing to our family! We searched high and low for different preschools for our daughter and when we visited we knew instantly it was going to be a great fit! Although I was a little nervous for her to go to school during the Pandemic they made it a seamless transition! The teachers, director and owners are absolutely amazing. They are constantly communicating whether it's at pick-up/drop-off or through their easy to use app Brightwheel app. One thing I absolutely have loved about Learning Lab is that they post pictures and videos of your child throughout the day. Our family moved to Irvine when our daughter was 12months old. Being new to the community we weren't sure where to even start with preschools. I had toured a few preschools and didn't quite feel right about it. I decided to hold off on preschool until my daughter was closer to 18 months. We were referred to Learning Lab Preschool by a good friend who's 2 children currently attend. I submitted a request for a tour and received a prompt response from the owner, Danny. Danny got us in right away with a tour. Danny was very informative, professional and great with our daughter. I loved knowing that the preschool had STEAM curriculum and Christian education. We ended picking LLP and getting enrolled. I expected my daughter to cry for the first few weeks during drop off because I always heard this is what to expect. She also had been at home with me everyday since she was born. I was surprised that she only cried for 3 days. On day 4 she walked into the classroom with her arms wide open to hug her teacher Ms. Rozana. Every morning she is excited to get ready, carry her lunch bag and has the biggest smile during her car rides to school. There are no words to express my appreciation for Ms. Rozana and Ms. Katarina. They have created an amazing bond with my daughter so quickly. They are both extremely loving, caring and are so patient! I'm a pretty ocd person so having my little go to a preschool with a sand playground wasn't exactly what I wanted but after touring the school and meeting the teachers and founders, I decided to give it a shot for my middle child. Like any new environment and parents leaving them, there were some tears and screaming and booger's. Fast forward exactly 2 weeks later and she's thriving and tells me school is fun! For a renovated school in an older building, they do a great job in keeping things tidy and clean. I mean how clean can it be with kids that don't even clean up at home yet! My middle child loves her school and the teachers and it's crazy how she knows the names of her classmates and teachers. She is absolutely flourishing and I couldn't be more thrilled how helpful the staff is. I'm fairly certain they will be getting my littlest as well! Our daughter has been attending LLP for about 2 years, and it has been a wonderful experience seeing her learn and grow under their care. We chose LLP because their teaching method isn't a one-size-fit-all approach, which worked well with our daughter's needs. She was behind in potty training for her age, which made it incredibly difficult finding a preschool that would accept her. When we mentioned this to the staff, they were very patient and understanding in addressing our concerns and worked closely with us to help her progress. Also, the teachers have been nothing but kind and attentive to her. She's the type who gets emotional and shuts down when she's struggling, but they are able to bring out the best from our daughter. My daughter really enjoys Learning Lab Preschool and it has helped with her social regressions due to Covid. We appreciate that there is low teacher turnover and the director is really involved, even in the day-to-day activities. Also, it's easy to communicate directly with the teachers/staff through the Brightwheel app, where they send messages/photos. Lastly, this is a faith-based preschool, and we love how they integrate teachings of the Bible into their program. My daughter has attended Learning Lab Preschool since May and she loves it there. After I pick her up from preschool, she will name her different teachers and sometimes randomly out of the blue at home, she will mention them too. My husband and I visited several preschools before choosing this one. Learning Lab Preschool is nothing less than AMAZING! Our daughter has been attending for a little over a year now. At first, she started going just a couple of days. Within the first couple of months going, we could see that on the days she was in school, she had more pep in her step and wanting to be more engaged at home so we put her in full-time. October 31 2022, was my daughter's 1st day at Learning Lab Preschool. They welcomed her with opened arms, and embraced her. I absolutely love how the school interacted with her and us as parents, this school treats the entire family as part of Learning Lab Preschool, it's not just a place you send your child to and then pick up. The school is really involved and big on family culture, values, strengthening the bonds and much more. A perfect example of this is during the month of December on a Saturday a 1 day free child care was offered for a few hours so that childfree Christmas shopping could be done or to get quality 1-on-1 time spent with your spouse. In times like these it's rare to find a school willing to go the extra mile not just for your child but for you as parents, I believe that is part of what makes Learning Lab so great! My daughter would come home smiling, and telling me about her day and what they did and learned with the exception for the Christmas show, she said "mommy the teacher said we have to keep it as a surprise for the parents" It was so cute! Very well done! Another aspect I absolutely appreciate it, is the fact that Learning Lab Pre-school is open for childcare more days than other pre-schools which really helps for those that need childcare for the days that are usually closed with other schools. Such an amazing school! I Can not rave enough about how wonderful this school is! I knew this was a great school when my son started asking to go to school every morning! My son asks to go to "new school" (his words exactly) and says he has fun! I know my son is getting the best care possible because the teachers actually know what my son did that day and even what he ate and exactly when he used the restroom. The restroom part is so important to me because my son use to come home everyday with diaper rashes from his last preschool. It really bothered me a lot, but at Learning Lab my son has NEVER ONCE come home with a rash! Working moms should know how amazing that is! I could feel that the teachers are not giving me generic answers about how my son's day went but really specialized answers from close observation. Learning Lab is a great school. My wife and I checked out multiple schools around the area but ultimately went with Learning Lab (and we are so glad we did!) As a military personnel, I loved the fact that safety was always a major priority in this school. Danny, one if the founders of this school has a LAPD chaplain background and the senior pastor of the church is in the Irvine PD and FD chaplain. The school has a private access code for parents to enter the gate and the entire playground is enclosed. With everything going in the world, this was very important for me and my family that the school we chose gave us the reassurance that safety was a priority in the school. After taking a tour, meeting with founders, Josh and Danny, and witnessing first hand the teacher and children interactions, I immediately knew this was the school for my son. There is a lot of teacher turnover. My child has had 4 teachers in 4 months, not because of "growth" like the school uses as an excuse, but because all the prior teachers are gone (except Miss Desiree who was promoted to Director, she is great!!). I asked very specifically about teacher turnover when interviewing them, so this is EXTREMELY disappointing. Not much in terms of art projects and activities for their students. They talk a good game, but lack on execution. We were told there are regular parent only activities but there hasn't been 1 in six months (or they haven't been communicated). They also don't give sufficient notice of special school activities parents are invited to participate in that take place during the work day to allow the parent to take the day off of work. Mr. Danny is a big reason that we chose this school in the first place. During the first tour, we loved his energy and passion for education and child development. With COVID restrictions, it can be difficult to connect with a school, but Learning Lab has done a great job of communicating and fostering a healthy school/family community. The teachers are very knowledgeable and have taught my boys so much in such a short time. Also, they have been so kind and shown nothing but love for my boys. I would like to highlight Ms. Kassidy and Ms. Rozana who have been nothing short of amazing. When I pick up my boys each day, we get into the car, and they are so happy and eager to share how their day went on the drive home. There are so many creative lessons the teachers implement and it keeps the kids engaged and excited to absorb information like sponges. Another big draw to The Lab is the playground areas that they have for the children. Social development is a big part of early education. The playgrounds are expansive and allow students plenty of room to explore and interact with one another. My boys have formed many friendships with their fellow classmates and when I show up at pick up time, they are all yelling "Daddy's Here!". It is as if they are siblings to one another. The school requires the prospective child to be part of the tour. My daughter is in school during the only times they give tours so my husband and I took our time to show up anyway to talk and see the school. I'm glad my daughter wasn't able to attend the tour because it exposed how awfully judgy and inflexible the owner, Danny, is. I asked why they required the child to be there and he said to assess if it's a good fit for both parties. I get it, I would have liked my daughter to see it too. I asked, how could you assess a child in 30 minute's time? He said well, as an example, we want to make sure if the child has special needs that we can ensure they have other programs elsewhere that we don't offer, such as children in the spectrum. I was utterly shocked by his response. It sounds like he was trying to create a school with perfect adult-children and unwilling to nurture and develop the children of preschool ages the way that they need socially and emotionally to build confidence going to kinder. Wow, just wow. He even seemed offended when I commented that their 8:1 teacher to student ratio is much higher than other preschools. I would never send my child to a school where the administration is so closed minded. The "tour" (we didn't even go inside) ended shortly after when I said there are no further questions. Deciding where to send your little one for school is such a hard decision! I toured so many different types of schools- Montessori, play based, Home Daycare, language immersion, etc. At the end of the day what I've realized is that all a parent could really ask for is to know that their child is cared for and is happy. My daughter quickly adjusted to school and is happy to go to school each day! Having 2 working parents is very hard and my daughter is at Learning Lab for a long day but I can tell that she is happy there and is excited to see her friends and teachers. While they are affiliated with Woodbridge Community Church, they are not pushy at all with religion and are accepting of all! What drew me to them the most is that they are all very transparent about their rates and their vision, are down to earth, and genuinely care about their students and families. We couldn't ask for a better place for our daughter to grow. The staff do an incredible job at making sure the needs of all students are met and our daughter genuinely loves being here. We too love her being here. In fact, when our daughter was 1.5 years old (she's almost 4 now!) I put her on the waitlist at another popular Irvine preschool and I recently received a call saying that there is an opening for her now. After speaking with my wife, it was an easy decision to stay with LLP. We even hope to have our other daughter attend LLP when she's able (she'll be 18 months on 10/1). Needless to say, LLP will be seeing us for a long time to come and we look forward to building our relationships even more. Because LLP isn't just a preschool. They take a whole family approach and really take an interest in ensuring the parents are supported as well. They have a lower student to teacher ratio (8:1) than most other preschools and one of the largest play areas in the area. When I get more into shape I look forward to playing in the dads basketball pick up, too! TLDR: Fantastic preschool, would pay half a mortgage again for my next kid. Furthermore, this is both the best value in Irvine and high quality to boot, hands down. My daughter loves this place. Thoughts: -Amazing hours (7am-6pm) -Great staff -Actual education, it's not just daycare -Learning of social skills -Fun playground and activities, it's not just boot camp -Periodic parent well-being evenings (Occasionally they have optional events for parents to relax or enjoy activities while the staff entertain and watch the children) -Periodic staff days where you'll need a contingency to watch your children -Sick Protocol: They are currently doing temperature checks to monitor illness. The hardest thing about being a full time mom is finding childcare. We experienced all different kinds of childcare for my first born - nanny, play-based daycare, Montessori school and now Learning Lab Preschool. We are so grateful for the preschool. Not only do they provide quality care for the children, they care about the parents as well. Whenever I drop my daughter off at school, I am always surprised to be asked, "How are YOU doing?" All of the teachers from other schools only talk and ask about the child. But Learning Lab understands that the best thing for a child is for his/her parent to be healthy and taken care of as well. They even provide a goody bag for parents to help ease any anxieties on the first day of drop off. This kind of care and support is unheard of! They truly understand the struggles of being a working parent. The facility is new, modern and very clean. I'm used to my daughter always being sick from being in other daycare facilities. She has yet to get sick from Learning Lab. I know that it's attributed to them cleaning and taking care of the classrooms well. They also have the best learning toys! Because Learning Lab is a STEAM school, learning is very interactive and hands on. This makes learning incredibly fun and probably explains why my daughter is so eager to go to school every morning. They also use an app to communicate with parents. I love getting notifications throughout the day to see exactly when my daughter got a diaper change, napped, etc. I also love that they send videos of my daughter playing or learning with her friends. This is always the highlight of my day. Ever since my 2yo started Learning Lab, she comes home singing all these new songs she learned, like "Jesus Loves Me This I Know". It warms my heart to know that everything my daughter learns at school -- colors, animals, shapes, etc. --will all be pointed back to God as the creator of these things at Learning Lab. We are so blessed to know that not only is my daughter well taken care of, she is also prayed for. We are so grateful for Learning Lab. Learning Lab Preschool is the most satisfying preschool that our family has ever felt the best. Before we came here, we spent some time in a large chain of kindergartens. The situation was unsatisfactory, and my child was a little disgusted with the school. The teacher also treated the child as not very careful and focused. We felt more like a simple nursery. Until the beginning of this year, I saw this newly opened kindergarten by chance. During the first visit, the founder Danny introduced the school's sand playground and their STEAM education methods and introduced one of their mobile APPs used by teachers to upload photos of their children every day and communicate with parents instantly. The APP was unique and allowed us to focus on our child's learning condition and communicate with the teachers anytime and anywhere. After introducing these points, I decided that it was worth giving the child a try. After two weeks, Andy had a significant change in school, and he became very fond of going to school and didn't want to go home every time we pick him up, which was really unexpected. He enjoyed the activities and facilities every day. The school has a variety of themed handcraft classes and meaningful mini-games every week. In addition, he started from knowing very little English to understanding some sentences and words in just two months, such as colors, small animals, furniture, toilet, and so on. We felt pretty surprised and excited. We have just moved to the United States not very long ago. Having our child study in this great preschool makes my wife and me extremely happy, reducing our psychological stress. For the Chinese family, the duration and integration of children will always be the most important. We are so thankful to choose LLP. My son is only 1 month in but adjusted the first week. I still have many questions and concerns but simply my son was happy when I picked him up. When I had questions, they were easily addressed my LLP staff. They are open to feedback and are very accommodating. All the teachers are hands on and loving. We highly recommend LLC Preschool. It has been a great experience for our two boys to attend this school. The staff is very friendly and professional. We will miss coming here after our second son graduates from preschool this year. We were truly blessed to find them online. They do a great job teaching our kids and keeping them busy with creative activities. Both of our kids found their first best friend here and both of them developed more social skills. Also, we found this place the most affordable in the area without affecting the best learning experience. For other side, kids love playing at their playground, which has very nice size. read more
