My son started off in the babies room and we chose it cause it was (at the time) the only school that allowed me to come in and continue to breastfeed my baby during my lunch break. Apparently, before COVID that was rare. My kids returned a year after COVID and going to a different preschool for a brief moment. They loved their teachers. To this day- these teachers are among their favorite Ms. Shakina, Ms. Lorraine, Ms. Cece and Ms. Evelyn. They have all taken the time to work with our children, prepared them for Kindergarten and gave them the space to thrive and grow in a loving environment. Class sizes are small and they get the attention they need. They also serve nutritious and delicious breakfast, lunch and snack for the children and accommodated to allergies. They ate a variety of food beside peers which made them adventurous to try new foods. Mr. Michael's music program is amazing and my kids took piano lessons during school hours. They also had soccer shots program during school hours (which set the foundation for my son to get into club soccer). My niece who also attended did dance and gymnastics at the school during school hours. Twice a year they hold a musical performance and throughout the year, families would be invited back for multiple festivals including ones that show off the child's work. Almost once a month there was some type of event. The older kids also have field trips to sing at the local retirement homes. Here I know exactly where our money is going and appreciate how it's being used. Childcare nowadays is so expensive and knowing how they are spending the money makes you appreciate their leadership. We are grateful to have children who are alumni in this school.

But it's important to note that we had fantastic experiences with the TEACHERS. This 1 star review is for the admin staff. This school is not equipped to handle children who might need a bit of extra support with neurodiversity or behavior struggles. The admin staff put in the bare minimum effort. While here, we had the following happen: - Admin staff recorded a video of our child having a meltdown as if he was on display instead of intervening, and they sent it to us via their app. - The office space where the admin staff works looks like a hoarder lives there, and they bring children back there if they need to regulate or need time away from their classroom. This area is not child proof at all, and when my son threw a marble it shattered their monitor and we ended up paying almost $1000 out of pocket to replace it. When we asked for the old monitor so we could try to fix it, they didn't reply. - We had our contract terminated with zero warning, while we were out of town. We were given a 2 week notice to scramble to find new care. We were told that our son was moved to a new classroom as "a final option" but that was never told to us. We had no idea that we were at risk of his care being terminated. Our child was devastated. The teachers also told us that they were NOT informed that this was going to happen. If our child needs extra support (beyond what we already did such as obtain an IEP and send him to ECLC for extra help 3 hours a day) we understand, but the communication was disgusting and disrespectful of the 4 years of time our son has been there. I wrote up a long response to them and it also was ignored. In talking with their contracted behavioral consultant, she agreed that this school does not offer adequate support for children who need extra help with age-appropriate behavior struggles such as the need to regulate their bodies, inability to sit and focus for long periods of time, issues with transitioning between activities, or kids who don't want to nap. If you've got a perfect angel kid and the admin never needs to get involved, SACC is fine. But they're in desperate need of new admin staff. There's a reason they haven't been full for a very long time. I fully expect they'll reply here and misconstrue the truth, and I'm not going to be baited into replying. Just consider I spent $100,000 of my money here and still return with a 1 star. My son is now thriving at a new school, and surprise - he's never missed his bus. They love him and he's had zero behavior issues at his new school in the 6 weeks he's been there.

Honestly, the whole staff has been so helpful and friendly! And they all know my son, even if they never taught him or had him in class! They all feel like family! They offer food on campus and that has been a life saver! Their chef is just the sweetest and makes all my son's favorites. They also provided diapers and wipes. He also LOVES the dance class (Dancing in Harmony). Everbrook also offered Spanish class, phonics and soccer too. Because of her when our daughter was 4 she could identify all the continents, say the pledge of allegiance, name the human organs/body parts, name the planets, life cycle of caterpillar to butterfly, read books, add numbers up to twenty, subtract numbers up to twenty and when she turned 5 she was able to begin multiplication of zero, one, and two. Our daughter has learned so much social skills and leadership skills. The children take turns being the leader for the day and are so excited when it's their turn. The fun activities are off the charts with water days, foam party, animal/reptile visitors, police and firefighter day visits, weekly music classes, trunk or treat, Christmas and Christmas in July and art activities. The students perform in front of parents for Christmas, Mothers' and Fathers Day celebration. There were also extra curricular activities such as weekly soccer, hero sports (11 different sports were taught) yoga, dance, gymnastics. Over time our daughter got to try all these out. The only advice we would offer is to read everything the staff and teachers provide and send to you. Also listen to the teachers' advice and recommendations and to follow their leads. We have been so impressed with the Spanish Immersion program as well! it's been amazing to hear our child come home using Spanish words and phrases! Our children have grown tremendously in their independence, confidence, social skills, and communication. As busy working parents, we also love receiving updates throughout the day with Transparent Classroom where they post photos, meals, naps, and their toileting schedule. Because of them, we had stayed a year longer than we had originally planned. We will send our second if we had one. This location is located farther inside the complex so there is very limited through-traffic. Majority of through-traffic are other parents or school staff. You have to check-in and check-out your child for drop-off and pickup. It is nearly impossible for a child to wander out of the building without staff noticing. Ms. Wendy who is in charge of front desk area has been a pleasure to work with. As far as I have been there, she has known the names of all the children that go by the front-desk. My daughter and her friends are all happy to interact with her. If she was not there, there was someone else to make sure who goes in and out the front area. We had opted into the extended care which allows us to pick up our daughter later (4:30) than the standard school hour. This allows me to have more flexible time to pick her up after work. I believe they have option to extend farther (I think 6 but not confident). We also paid for the year long program which also allows additional care during the school's standard days off like spring break. For any random incidents like scraped knees, minor injury from playing, etc., are reported and provided to parents. Over a few years, there will definitely be students and parents that are not a good fit. We understand this can happen at any school. The staff were able to handle these situations to our satisfaction. Our overall experience was very good. I would recommend this location.

In contrast, our first phone call with Mrs. G, the school director, was one of warmth and accommodation - only confirming what other parents have been telling me all these years. Our daughter has been with Light of Christ for more than a year and we are incredibly happy with the school. In just the first two weeks of her enrollment, we saw a huge surge in her language development. She had confidence to speak up for herself and share her thoughts and feelings. It's a testament to how loving the teachers are with the students and how they truly give each child a voice. Mrs. Vick is our daughter's current teacher and she is so fun with the children. She teaches the kids real life applications of what evaporation means and mathematics through graphing the children's preferences of the different varieties of apples. Logic and problem solving skills are taught to the little ones in a creative way that is both applicable and graspable. Light of Christ has also been incredibly careful with our daughter's food allergies. At lunch time, they are mindful to separate our daughter in the event a fellow friend has a peanut butter sandwich. If they are cooking at school, the teachers will call us and share with us which ingredients are being used for the meal. As parents who carry an epi-pen, the teachers' vigilance relieves our fear. My oldest…read moreinitially started at another Mandarin immersion preschool nearby because they had an immediate opening and right away we felt that that school lacked a sense of community and had inconsistent quality of teachers. When a spot opened up for him at Leport, we took it right away and it has been the best decision ever for our family. My oldest child is now at a public Mandarin immersion school and is thriving academically and socially, which we attribute to the quality of teachers at Leport (big shout out to Yang laoshi). We feel that Leport provided a great foundation for him not only with his Mandarin skills but also with math and English. My younger 2 children are still at Leport and we have continued to see the same level of quality with the school. The teachers in the primary level as well as the toddler classes have all been great. The assistant teachers also help out a ton with day to day activities so the children are always well cared for. My girls love going to school and speak fondly of their classmates and teachers which I am so grateful for. Their Mandarin skills have also excelled a ton since starting here. Lastly, as a family who moved from the East Coast, having a sense of community was so important and we definitely found that here. The school hosts many events like holiday potlucks, family picnics, and also celebrates cultural events like when they brought in lion dancers for Lunar New Year, which was so fun for the kids. Ms. Jackie (head of school) has truly been the heart and soul of the school. I appreciate when she reaches out to me personally about my children's progress and how she continues to check in with me about any transitions that may be going on in the classroom. I also noticed that through the encouragement and help of her teachers, her math, reading (both Chinese and English), and practical skills accelerated tremendously. She helps with all the many of the chores at home and starting to write letters to family and friends at 6 years old. This campus also hosts many events throughout the year to produce a sense of community, where we can meet other parents and make playdates possible, which can be more challenging for a private school.
